    Thank you so much for doing this video. I also want to become PA specializing in OB/GYN. I'm in AZ and it appears to not be common to have PAs in that area so I'm really appreciative of your videos and advice.

    I've been following you for awhile to help me decide if this is really what I want. I'm not going to lie, I'm not the best at science at all, but then again I can't honestly say I've given my all in a science course enough to tell whether or not I'm really bad at it or just not studying efficiently enough. With this in mind the next science course I take I will let that determine if I really want this or if I'm just not committed enough and should look for a different profession. Thank you for your videos!

  • @alycenclayton1969
    @alycenclayton1969 Před 4 lety +8

    So ob gyn pa’s can’t deliver babies? Is that conflicting from a previous video? I’m so conflicted because I ultimately want to deliver babies but PA seems more doable for me since I have a previous bachelor’s degree. I’m just afraid I would be short changing myself. Can OB GYN PA’s assist in labor? Are there more certifications maybe to make it possible? I can’t find any info in laborists that are PAs. Help

  • @bzstyle3719

    So is this what the workload would be like if you were to officially become a OBGYN PA or do you get to do more?

  • @10byrdie
    @10byrdie Před 5 lety +4

    I want to do woman’s health so bad but can’t decide NP or PA. I have a bachelors in Respiratory Therapy and each route will take me the same amount of time. I feel like NP is more geared towards woman’s health but PA can specialize in anything. Ugh I’m so conflicted.

    • @AdannaThePA
      @AdannaThePA  Před 5 lety +3

      So I think the PA route maybe a little quicker for you since you already have a bachelor's degree as a RT then you would only need to do PA school which would take you two years. If you were trying to go to the NP route you have to get a bachelor's degree as an as a nurse which you can do that in two years at an accelerated program and then you can become an NP after 2 years so a total of 4 yrs. But you should do what rap makes you feel best I just want you to make sure that you know exactly your options.

    Weird question... do they have an infertility specialization as a PA???

  • @judygilbert6919
    @judygilbert6919 Před 5 lety +6

    Hey Adanna! I have a question. Do you have an opportunity to work as a PA in an OB/GYN office? This was a hospitalist, correct?

    • @AdannaThePA
      @AdannaThePA  Před 5 lety +5

      So it was inpt. There is an opportunity to work in office and that is all dependent on the hospital you're with. Usually there's a clinic that the PAs Midwives physicians residents and med students can work at. There's also the opportunity to get with an office and work with them.

  • @ashleynarvaez6034
    @ashleynarvaez6034 Před 5 lety +3

    Not pertaining to this video, but if you are put in a situation where you are choosing between two PA schools, how important would you say that the clinical affiliations/sites are when choosing a school?

    • @AdannaThePA
      @AdannaThePA  Před 5 lety +2

      Absolutely! A lot of PA students get offered jobs at their clinical rotation sites, so if your school goes to sites where you don't see yourself working it really just kind of makes a little bit more leg work on your end to find a job in the future.
