Thankyou for the walk. One of my first apartments was between 15th and 16th on Mission Street on the 2nd floor just above a dog shelter, every morning the dogs would wake me up as early as 6am. This was back in the 80's; also lived a hotel closeby on Mission. Thankyou again, stay safe on your walks.rab
Thank you for the upload. I'm going to San Francisco for the first time and the dollar store tour was exactly what I like.. Good luck with the CZcams channel.
I wonder if they bother to remove the Walgreens price stickers before they sell stuff, or do they just not care because they know the police won't do anything about stolen goods?
I just got out of the Army around ‘77 and rented a room temporarily on 16th and Mission. It was a two or three story building with a bar/band on the bottom floor. I moved out after a month’s stay and two weeks later it caught on fire. I think two or three people perished that day.
The Mission is I think the largest lower income neighborhood in San Francisco. The produce from the markets there is about half the price of the produce at Safeway. People selling stuff on the street during the daytime is relatively new. I only saw that being done after dark a few years ago.
Between 2001, and 2013, I traveled to and through SF. on a dozen occasions. it was always on Market St, and not far from the Mission precinct. Being a big walker it was nothing for me to traverse all the way from Chinatown, down to Fisherman's Wharf, then back along the waterfront to the ferry terminal and back up to my lodgings. In those sojourns, you'd encounter (as you do in any big city) people who down on their luck, and there'd be someone here or there huddled up in a disused store front. And of course there were some junkies hanging around. But what I spy in CZcamss over the past 2 years is akin to being in a por part of Mumbai. I'm 70 years of age now, and circumstances prevent me from traveling too much like I did in prior days. However, if I were to do another round-the-world excusion my first or last port of call will NEVER be SF, or LA. Instead, I'll go via Vancouver - not that it's too great, either; but it's better than the other pair.
I lived at 18 Sycamore pre Y2K and there was so much more drug activity and general crime going on back then. Seems like when crack was still around people would get more desperate when they came down. There’s not as much or none at all in some places, so there’s generally not as much crime.
Pretty good city walk. If you're traveling looking for vibrant walking streets, it's much better and cheaper to get a passport to go abroad. Much better in most other countries.
Stolen goods most probably. Then they sell it for half the price, thus no receipts or sales tax or invoice of any kind. The 'wonderful state' does heavily tax the legit citizens and businesses in order to sustain the inclusivity policies.
There was not a very good choice in some periods of time and in some places in USSR but it never looked that bad and devastated in Moscow as in this video. I am from Moscow
The presidio has the brand new tunnel tops park and a fancy pizza restaurant now. This is the mission and most of the venders have been moved away by enforcement officials in last few months
@@jyc313 we were lucky to live on portola street, very nice duplex homes, the base was already closing down to be a park..my husband was the last of the soldiers to have a retirement ceremony there
San Francisco is a city that is not suitable for families because it is very expensive and is considered a business city, so we find that most of the apartments are inhabited by people who go out to work in the morning and come to sleep after work . What we see in the video, the people who are sleeping on the ground are nothing but homeless people who do not have our housing and are sleeping on the street. Such streets in San Francisco are not safe to wander at night because drug users are active there, and it is recommended not to wander in their alleys. However, some tourists can wander in places such as the square opposite Macy's, which is crowded with foreign tourists.
All the things I planned to do I only did half way.. tomorrow will be Sunday born of rainy Saturday There's some satisfaction in the San Francisco rain..no matter what comes down the Mission always looks the same..come again, walking along in the Mission in the rain...czcams.com/video/-BcsVsCEnMU/video.html Jerry Garcia

you people are brave I give you credit because when that predicted earthquake hits san Deigo ,LA and San Fran ,, over 9 on the scale predicted the worst in Human history is coming its been building for 300 years 100 years late on the cycle ,, 1 mile below the surface is moving 1 mile an Hour the top has been stationary for 100s of years when it gives .. they should give everything to the homeless and leave
Absolutely ridiculous. They steal from the stores then sell it but would be upset if someone stole their stolen goods.
Freaks weird people!
Without CZcams I can’t believe this is existing in USA.
I was there last November. Walking in Mission St is like walking in a different country. 😅
The most expensive place to live in the country and this is what you get?

Not the San Francisco it once was, but nice video.
It used to be called the Emerald by the Bay. If you meet people who remember it as such they will tell you how beautiful it used to be.

Very nice view. Thank you very much for sharing
Gee I wonder where all that merch came from.
FROM the store
Walgreens, CVS, Target, mom&pop, back of a UPS truck.

I must say I didn't see any vagrants, tents, or "for lease" signs. But I know this town has plenty in other places!

Surprised our host didn't venture into Doc's Clock Cocktail Time.🥃🥃🥃

For those of you who are even thinking about our greaseball governor for president,
Receipts? Sales tax? Reporting income?

From a suggested Live Cam of the Philippines to this...Looks the same.
This is great giving everyone a small business.
I love mission street San Francisco. I have a small business on mission street for 30 years !
I think it's the Mexican barrio in Frisco. That's why so clean and in order.

Thanks! It's like traveling in a time machine. From 40:00 it looks like Moscow in the mid-90s. Poverty and devastation.

The mission was always a bit rough. Presidio and the mission are miles apart. Your perspective is inaccurate to begin with 😂

A lot safer than what it used to be back in the days. Looks run down but a lot safer these days

Is it weird to walk past stores that look potentially open only to get to the door and it's boarded up?
Wow, wish our dollar store stocked as much. Good walk.
Some moments before civil war.

Is the Mission district still the best for Mexican food?

San Fran is by the water so it tends to get chilly there.
Always cold ,, then in October it’s 110 for three weeks
