    Wow! That was a lot of work. Thank you very much! I just ordered the J8+ with double size battery from Costco for $499, but I'm thinking I need to reconsider for a Lidar based unit.

    Started watching your channel a few years ago and your progress in creation and editing has been linear, addressing most salient issues to most consumers in an easy to understand process. My only suggestion is to slow down your delivery. It’s a lot of information presented in a very rapid fire manner that might overwhelm someone looking into these devices for the first time. Keep up the good work! 😊

    Roomba was definitely the market leader 10 years ago but now the tides have shifted to Roborock. Roomba has lagged behind R&D compared to other brands especially to Roborock and nowadays they're just hanging on to brand recognition. Unless they catchup or innovate new features, Roborock will have my money since they offer more bang for buck.

      If Roborock would invent something similar to IRobots dual brush setup, the roomba wouldn’t stand a chance it would destroy IRobot.

    • @cheeneep
      @cheeneep Před rokem +1

      @@brandonhorn6218 they can't because iRobot has a patent for dual brush but Roborock can always make a better technology.

    I bought my 70 year old grandma the roborock Q5+ with the self emptying dock for Christmas and she absolutely loves it setup was quick and easy I watched hours and hours of reviews of many different robot vacuums roborock pretty much comes out on top almost every time

    Can any of these recognize and avoid Lego? Obstacle avoidance is clearly getting better and better; I think that "picks up cereal but avoids Lego + cables" is the threshold at which a robot can roam freely around the house. Cable avoidance seems to be covered by the better machines, so that leaves Lego. Lego is a nuanced question as there are so many different sizes and shapes of Lego piece. Minifigures should definitely be avoided but some of the very small pieces can reasonably be forgiven for being mistaken for dirt.

    Will there be a combo j7 review? There is also a sub variant of the j7, the j8 at Costco. The bagless module for the Roborock s7 and s7 maxv plus is available to buy in the US. The room combo j7 has a larger battery. Finally, the s6 maxv, s4 max, and e4 were discontinued

    Thank you very much for the video, it was very informative and a very good objective comparison. I also think that iRobot has unfortunately lagged behind other brands in terms of innovations, while Roborock or even the other Xiaomi brands, but Ecovavcs or 360 brands are also better overall in my opinion. I think it's only worth buying an iRobot if you need it specifically for carpets. But it would be nice if iRobot would finally use a laser.

    J7 combo has no problems cleaning biger rooms it even detetkts that domting block it goes to the station and uses the suction to get it out when it gets the debre out it mybe charges goes back to the exsact spot and finishes the job. And carpet cleaning is realy good even with old carpet which cant be opend with suction but with the 2 rolers you can.

    I definitely think Roborock is far ahead of Irobot, the navigation with Roborock bots is far more efficient, Irobot should start using Lidar and perhaps keep the camera for object avoidance, but Lidar is much better for navigation. I think Roborock and Ecovacs are the two best brands right now.

    Thanks for a great review.
    My question is related to noise. How loud are these vacuums? The higher powered suction surely means more noise?

  • @City-Hiker
    @City-Hiker Před rokem

    Roborock definitely the leader in the Robot Vacuum field.
    Ecovacs is second, and the iRobot is third.
    Shark on the other hand is catching up all the big 3 market shares.

    Thanks for this overview. Currently, I have the Viomi S9 (with the self emptying bin) - It's software is really bad. If the cloud connection does not work, the Robot does not work. It can Not handle multiple floors well (by moving it, because you need to do change map) - Also the mopping pad holder already broke once (very thin plastic) and the bin needed replacement, because it didn't dispose water anymore.
    My iRobot Roomba 531 from 2010, is still working and it's more durable and powerfull run motors. The battery is it's weak point. Already replaced for 4 times)
    Definitetly I will purchase a iRobot next time. The Xiaomi is cheaper, but sure the quality is much lower.

    Does the Roborock Q5 do obstacle avoidance … or will it spread dog poop all over its path?

    • @rxappdev
      @rxappdev Před rokem

      Sadly it does not, it will spread it. Previously only the MaxV models had obstacle avoidance, now with the S8 it seems to have changed. Roborock website lets you compare models and see which ones have obstacle avoidance.

    But I though RooboRock is so much better no it isent even when people want to seel you that the j7 combo is not good. Its bulshit. Who is so messy that leaves such mess to not be able to clean with a mob, no one. And even than the Roomba has this turning dance that cleans even that. So long it detects that that part needs to be cleaned better.

    even in a category where the top 3 performers were Roomba, you discounted the number 1 performer without a reason, then generalized by saying “but the next best performers were mostly Roborock options” which wasn’t even true- Roomba E5 was ahead of Roborock S5 Max. Roomba J7 beat the Roborock S7. Roomba I6 beat the Rororock S6… every single category was either “Roborock wins” or “Roomba scored better, but that’s only because X, which is actually better for Roborock, so Roborock wins.” The truth is each one has its strengths, but you wouldn’t know that by watching this horribly biased video. 0/10
