    In this week's episode, we explore the abandoned mansion from the French family Castello, they were a happily married couple, had 4 young boys and life seemed to be great for the family. But in a sudden night around the year 2002 everything changed, they suddenly disappeared and nobody knows their whereabouts. After asking numerous residents around the abandoned mansion for more information about what happened in this place, nobody could give us clear answers... So it was up to us to turn on our cameras and start to investigate this mysterious home.
    Everything of the Castello family is left behind inside, it is just like they could get home tonight and start living there again, this proves to be a very interesting exploring, so let's waste no more time and let's begin this epic adventure!

      Thank you so much for exploring these beautiful abandoned homes for us! You are a Time Machine for your viewers, going back into the past.
      I would like to donate money to you, because I know that traveling to these abandoned places are costly, and time consuming.
      But unfortunately, I live on a fixed income and I barely make ends meet. The only thing that I can offer you is my prayers, to keep you and your loved ones healthy and safe.
      Thank you again, for letting us into your Time Machine!

    There is a UT’er that lives in Britain and she said when she filed bankruptcy, she was made to move out and leave everything. When they finally let her back in a lot of her stuff had been taken by the cleaning crew. Like her Jewlery that had been her mother’s , tv ect. So it can be cases like that or maybe it had a mold problem and was to expensive to repair, so just left because mold spores can be in your furniture, clothes, toys ect.

    Well, that was certainly an interesting find Leslie. Enjoyable and Huge family home. It does make one wonder why the children of the family have not come forward. Unless it is financially not in their interests to claim it! Such a shame that people just disappear. Here today - Gone tomorrow. Leaving their whole world behind them!
    I hope you are enjoying your travels still. X

    • @Meriale46
      @Meriale46 Před 2 lety +9

      The fact that many people in Europe don't claim family homes is not that unusual. When your parents or other family members die without a Will the property can sit in limbo for years if not decades. If someone is willed an estate there are heavy taxes that must be paid in Inheritance tax. Properties need to be reassessed for their value and before you can claim it these taxes must be paid as well. It can be quite expensive and many people have no desire to move back to where they grew up. Homes are handed down with all the furnishings still in them and it's not strange in the least that when a property is sold all the furniture is sold along with it. This is one main reason why these homes are left to rot and ruin. Relatives may come and claim personal items but rarely will they take furniture and artwork.

    Who goes into empty places and completely wrecks a place throwing stuff every which way? I can't imagine it was left like this by the people who lived there. I didn't see dirty dishes stacked up in the sink or on any surface. So, it must have been fairly orderly when it was abandoned. I don't really enjoy seeing a wrecked place like this with stuff thrown all around. But, for some crazy reason I sit through your exploration. Maybe it is just you I am fascinated with Lesley. LOL I do like how you do it!

    Seems to me to be a home of an old couple who once raised the 4 sons back in the 70's or 80's and perhaps there were lots of toys left behind by grandchildren. The furniture, appliances, and tv's seem very old. Not modern for, say, the 1990's or early 2000's. That makes me think the couple were pretty old, often elderly ppl don't keep up with buying newer things. Maybe they had to be taken to an assisted living facility or nursing home? The place looked pretty picked over, like maybe the relatives came and took valuable things and left alot of the crap behind. I find it interesting that homes and their things get left behind like this. In the US, when someone dies, as a relative, you have to go in and clean the place out, even throwing out the things you don't want, so that you can sell the house. I guess it's different in Europe.

    • @Keiri12
      @Keiri12 Před 2 lety +2

      I agree the tv & appliances seem old. He mentioned in the intro that they couldnt find any picture of elder people. They can only find the couple pic when they were young. It seems weird it as if they didnt grow old there.

  • @Meriale46
    @Meriale46 Před 2 lety +8

    That place looks as if it was abandoned longer than 21 years. The decay and condition of the grounds and structure of the house starting to fall apart is a good indication that it's most likely been sitting empty for about 30 or 40 years. The clothing left behind tells the tale. It is an interesting place though. Not many photos to say what happened there but it looks as if the parents owned the house and perhaps died and left it to their children who might have lived there for a time but decided to leave it behind.
    I just wanted to add that the other group of people that showed up there were rude for being so loud. They knew you were recording and still got loud. Some people just have no respect for others. Sorry, but that's my opinion of it. Until next time... thank you again for showing us such an interesting place.

    i love the new format with the family history. it makes the video waaaaaayyy more interesting. you may want to consider helping the heirs, banks, or governments that own these homes to sell the properties also. you are showing the homes to so many interested people. if an eligible buyer contacts you, then you could refer them to the owners for a small advertising fee or sales commission (whichever may be legal).

    In the 50's my granma had an older phone, with no numbers, but a lever instead of the dial, which you operated several times, then an operator answered you, asking you which number you wanted to contact as well as the city, and she put you in communication with your correspondent! The first answering machine I saw was in 1968, and it only took 10 messages on a magnetic tape, it was already an amazing progress. At that time in my city (about 100 000 inhabitants), the phone numbers had only 3 digits! You ask the (human) operator, "please, make me in touch with the 254 (for example) then the name of the city, you wait a few time before the number you ask , answers! Most of the phones were for trading, or rich people... My grand parents own a car driving school. Poor people use phone booth, or call from the nearest post office. It's not so far!
    Thanks for your interesting explorations, and be safe!
    From France, Charles.

    It’s sad to see everything left behind.But sometimes it could be something like they had been in an accident.One never knows..They we’re a large family too and it would be very hard finding somewhere for them all to live if they just deserted the house. It was a great walk around,done very tastefully as always..It’s a shame the others came..Thanks for showing us ..Love n Light 🥰

    Very nice explore Leslie I never heard of that German brand of the treadle sewing machine. I still wonder what happened to the family. Those other people that showed up were not very considerate. But you did good and carried on 😊

    Some homes have 2 kitchens...one on a cool level of the home, to be used in the summer, one on a warmer level for winter. Houses of rich people in colonial times in the US had these. Some European immigrants, especially Italians, in the US even today have these.

    This house is a bit odd in that it is in more state of disrepair than some that have been abandoned much much longer.

      Porque crees que existen tantas casas abandonadas con cosas adentro, parece que esas personas se esfumaron de este mundo, la pregunta es porque dejaron todas sus cosas valiosas y se fueron, siempre tengo esa duda 🤷

    Here in the Philippines, you leave a place like that, it will be empty in no time. People will just steal everything. I watched a lot of your videos but it always leave me wondering where are these people's relatives and why they did not do anything to search for them or at least clean the place and secure the valuables inside... Maybe it's different there... I dunnow..

    You guys are doing so well. It's good to discover the insights of these houses... But with these can you please focus on the mystery of the families... What happened to them, or you can try to contact the relatives of those family... I think that will help to grow your channel... We want to know that story also....
