What Jews Can Learn From Black People

  • Jews are fundamentally students of history. In fact, all of our sacred texts and ancient traditions are based on critically reviewing our own history for us to learn what went wrong, and to pass down the lessons of how we must overcome.
That being said, we can also take inspiration from other peoples who've achieved success or embodied greatness. Although our role is to be a light to the nations, it doesn't mean we can't find light and inspiration from others near us.
Although the term "black" in itself is social construct, since people are not colors, the application of segregation and continuous persecution due to one's color of skin created real life and generational experiences that became a valid core experience of their collective human identity.
The Civil Rights Movement in America is beyond inspiring. In the United States black people fought, sweat, bled, and some even died to earn their rights in a land that viewed them as inferior or as a threat. What was done to earn those rights should serve as a model of self empowerment and collective unity that many other peoples should respect and learn from, including the Jewish People.

I know a Moroccan Arab dude and we debated for 40 minutes on Israel-Palestine, I cited many statistics, sources, explained Jewish history in great detail, and I REALLY thought I got through to him but apparently not. A pattern I see in MENA countries is that the more okay a government is with normalizing ties with Israel, the less okay the people are with that state. Most Iranians stand with Israel while their government is extremely anti-Israel, and most Turks and Saudis hate Israel while their government loves Israel. I suppose you mean your government stands with Israel but unfortunately I think you might be a minority if you’re talking about yourself personally. Regardless, they love you and so do we pro-Israel American non-Jews. God bless.

This is why it is so important for Jews ✡️ like myself living in the Diaspora to say "I come from the Kingdom of Judea" or " I come from Judea/The Land of Judea"
We must connect ourselves to land! Ashkenazic Jews are not European they come from Judea, Sephardics are not Spanish/Portuguese they come from Judea, same goes for all other tribes!! We Jews must connect ourselves to the land of Judea, no more "Judiasm is a Religion". No, we must tell the world and ourselves that we are the Indigenous People of Judea! The name Jewish, comes from the land, the Land of Judea! We must reconnect ourselves to the land of ancestors, the land of Yahwa, the land of Israel 🇮🇱 the land of Judea!!

@heni8794 Part of standing your ground as a Jew is letting people know where you are from! For too long we Jews would say " I am from Germany" or "I am Swedish" etc. Which in turn has caused much of the issues we Jews face today, also by saying we are from Judea we automatically shutdown the "Religion" aspect of our identity! And it connects us to the land of the Mddle East, thereby shutting down any speculation of our so called "Whiteness" We must tell ourselves as Jew that we Indigenous People who come from Judea or else we can't change the hearts and minds of others!! Standing your ground means believing and knowing that part of yourself. I know I am Jewish, I know that I am Ashkenazic and that my ancestors came from Judea long ago, but more importantly I know that I am Indigenous that I have the right to self-determine in the land of Judea where my father, grandfather and great grandmother are from!!

In any sane world, police would escort the law-breaking pro-Hamasniks off campus but in Canadastan, the police protect the pro-Hamasniks and escort innocent law-abiding Jews off campus.
I wore a kippah with a large Star of David on it into "Adib's Cut" in White Rock BC Canada and was told to "go to the bus stop" and was refused service. I later returned and sang Hatikva on the sidewalk outside the shop in protest. An employee said to me , "We are all going to Palestine", and, "It's all going to be Palestine". A customer screamed at me for two minutes straight, "F-you, F-Israel, you baby killer!" while his spit was flying in my face. I complained to the police and when I showed up at the station, I was told that I was the main suspect in a case of criminal mischief filed by Adib's Cut. The police interrogated me, asking me bizarre questions, and treated me like a criminal. I filed a complaint about all of this to the BC Human Rights Tribunal and will have a hearing in 2025.
I am in the process of conversion and intend to make aliyah ASAP.

From a black diaspora perspective all of the Jewish people ive known have been European in origin and indistinguishable from other Europeans unless identified possibly by name or other cultural characteristics. When your black, no identification required. Obviously not all Jewish people (particularly the not as vocal ones) are white ethnicity. But the power dynamics appear white adjacent (backers in the movement at the very least have the ear of societies powerful). I am not sure what rights you are fighting for? Consider:The right for Netanyahu to ignore the world courts? The United States? Europe? Passing a law through Congress regarding criticizing a specific country? @@E0011 I hear you but your ancestry does not dispel the argument. I was making the argument that Israel's government and supporters political pull, expectations and behavior is more like European and its colonies than a Middle Eastern country . Yes Jewish culture encompasses all races but exception (not sure of political clout) does not prove the rule. 1. Nearly all support for Israel comes from Europe and its post colonies not Middle Eastern countries. 2. European descended Israeli's appear to be over represented in positions of power. 3. The USA literally gives them money every year (very colony like. Y?)4. Passing laws when it comes to criticizing a particular country considered anti-Semitic. 4. Netanyahu ignoring world court, keeps saying this is a war on the WEST (who politically makes up the west power? ) not an internal middle eastern matter. He also has been invited to Congress to explain himself (very colonial) 5. Y in the world is a Middle Eastern country part of Eurovision (weakest argument but I find it bizarre). Diasporic and Israeli Jews may not all be European/American but I would argue that many , particularly in positions of power and attitude towards the rest of the world is very European/American centric as well. The difference being from Afro diasporic peoples is they have the clout (or attempting to) to be the exception that rises above the rule. With that being said, HAMAS is EVIL AND MUST BE REMOVED (Palestinians need something to live for) PHYSICAL VIOLENCE AGAINST JEWISH people in the states and colonies should be stamped out and discourse should be encouraged. Most of the world is not Jewish and have their own problems....economically..socially...food insecurity, racism, gender issues, wars etc.... But how many can lobby a superpower and get laws passed similar to Israel's?

Jews definitely have a somewhat weird relationship with the West, as in we're part of them but not really.

Let's be honest. The Civil Rights movement of the 1960s was a lie and a joke, and Rudy, although I love your intentions, you need a bit more knowledge about what you are conveying.
If the Civil Rights movement had been so fantastic in its results, we would not have the accusations of Racism and identity politics finger-pointing of hatred that we have today. Although it is happening for control, it wouldn't carry any weight if the movement had accomplished its virtuous potential.
Regardless of the stance, the message of the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, embodied in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, has undeniably left a lasting impact on our society.
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by their character." - MLK Jr.
Unfortunately, today, we are more connected to the counter of this message than we ever have been. Why? Because the Civil Rights movement was a ruse. Not in its intention but in its purpose, message, and action. The Civil Rights movement of the 1960s became, for many, only about Taking a Stand for their Rights and not about what it truly needed to be an understanding along with it.
This is where Jews and all of us can learn from the Black community, but not what you indicated and not what the black community was allowed to learn and does not currently exist from.
    Pride!
"Dr. King emphasized the beauty and necessity of living together with recognition of our Creator and His creation: "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed-we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal...." Dr. King encouraged the understanding and recognition-that all of mankind is created in the image of God-as a pivotal point in seeking racial reconciliation and respecting the dignity and worth of every man. God created mankind to image himself. Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female" (CSB). In His image, God created people of all skin color, cultures, families, statuses, and abilities to parcel out images of Himself, giving a greater and fuller picture of who God is." - thedailygraceco.com/blogs/the-daily-grace-blog/how-scripture-affirms-dr-kings-dream-2
Pride, though it needs to have its counterpart of humility in that of being humble.
So, what does this mean for the Jewish people and their approach to these difficult times?
For everyone, and especially Jews, we must find our relationship with God. We build that through our history, our lineage, and our faith. This is exactly where we will find our Pride and our Identity as Jews and Individuals and be willing to TAKE A STAND for what's right in HOW THE WORLD TREATS US - but also in how we treat ourselves!
Rudy, you make this point, whether you understand it or not, starting at the 2:17 mark of this video and over the next 20 to 30 seconds of your appreciation. It is imperative that Jews in the Diaspora love themselves and have pride in who they are as Jews first in their connection to God as they stand for what's right. This is the message that the world can share, and it will bring us all together as we push out the evil that attacks us all.
God Bless you for your work to bring light to the world and thank you for all that you do.
