    I agree 100% on the scale side. I get a TON of crap for it, but the proof is in the flights......😊

      I have found over the years unless it’s a speed heli level balance is perfect! A lot of people don’t agree with me on this method either but it works!

    Thanks for your time and willingness to share consistently good information! There is a lot of conflicting information available now, and it's comforting to hear your explanations of "WHY" we should do things. I appreciate it so much.

      Thank you! I appreciate that. Yes, there is a ton of conflicting information out there. Every one has an opinion on what “works” I just know what I’ve learned and done over the last 20 years. I’m glad these videos are helpful and you can get good truth full information!

    Well, back to the drawing board! I always did it, buy two fingers under the blade grips!
    I'll try your way tonight.
    Great video thank you.

      Thank you for watching! Let me know how it goes when you balance this way and see if your models are too heavy or nose heavy.

    This is a really great method, I had used the two fingers previously and you're right its practically useless...

      @westhobbiesrc8051  Před rokem +1

      I’m glad it’s helpful! I used to use the two finger method as well under the blade grip until I came across a helicopter that flew like it was tail heavy but balanced like it was level. That’s when i tired this way and seen it was really tail heavy!

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 i just tried your method on my 420, and it was a bit nose heavy... at guess it rotated maybe 15degrees, so i will have to pull of the 3m tape and move the battery back a little i guess... thanks again!

    Just started flying my Goosky S2 in 3D mode, learning to basically hover it and your videos helped me a ton, both with the technical aspecs and the inspiration to see what these magnificent machines are capable of, you make it seem waaaay easier that it really is 😅. Thanks !

      @westhobbiesrc8051  Před rokem

      That’s where it all starts! Just learning, basic orientation, and hovering that can be very boring at times lol it’s all practice! The more you practice the better you will get in the easier it will be comb and be more like second nature. I appreciate that though!! Good luck!

    Awesome info, definitely taught me something. Had you not shown the finger tips under the blades method and compared I would still be flying off balance helis. I had no idea how inaccurate my method was but I guess that’s what happens when your a self taught newbie. Thanks👍

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Před rokem

      Awesome! I’m glad the video was helpful and taught you something. Are used to balance my helicopters, the same exact way. Two fingers under the blade grip and I would every once in a while have a model that would drift forward or backwards, and I could never get rid of that drift. And I always used to think it was just what it was, but me being a perfectionist and can’t leave anything alone. I tried this way, and realized it was very too heavy, and I rebalanced it, and the drift went away! So ever since then I always balanced this way and they have been flying perfectly!

      I can definitely do that, blade balancing has kind of fallen off with the new blades that we have today, but there is some sets that definitely need to be balanced!

    Thanks heaps for the vid, re the 2 finger lift what if you used something like a fork so to speak, thinking that fingers wouldn’t be accurate??

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Před rokem +1

      You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! I’m not sure on that. Theoretically speaking if you were to use some thing like a wire under the blade grip it would hang better than using your finger as far as accuracy, but I don’t know if it would work as good as rotating off of the shaft, side to side.

    Good video. I would like to ask you, how often do you see people using "rescue" mode in Ikon? And what is the suscessful rate, I mean, does it saves the heli from crash? And comparing to vbar neo, is it much different? Thank you so much, I really enjoy and learn from your videos.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Před rokem +1

      Thank you! I appreciate it. So personally, I set up rescue on every helicopter! Now I don’t ever really use it. But! Anytime I have used it it has work. The biggest issue with rescue is remembering to flip it. Lol my mind is old school where I try to save the helicopter by flying it out other than flipping a switch. But it does work most of the time.
