From a typical Sunday dinner that features baked ziti, salad, and chicken cutlets, to a gabagool sandwich for lunch, there's no denying that food is importance to the overall theme and culture of The Sopranos. In this video, I discuss the importance, the symbolism that it brings, the weird connections between The Sopranos, food, and murder, and the episodes that showcase a heavy focus of food.

What's great about The Sopranos is how well written every scene is, and that includes food. Eating scenes are often a drag, but with The Sopranos? I could watch them during dinner and talking about the food for hours

As an Italian, I loved how almost every episode had a classic Italian dish that I have enjoyed countless times! Also, all the get togethers reminded of my big family and all of our family gatherings!

As a 3rd gen Italian American, growing up in NJ (and with my NY family) there is something special about the food and more importantly the time spent with family together, preparing it, then sitting down together and eating it. Recipes that were passed down from generations. Knowing your relatives favorite dishes. Birthdays, holidays, or just getting together for Sunday sauce, there are memories attached to each occasion, each meal and its an important part of the culture. Especially since in todays day and age that ritual is becoming a thing of the past, it brings back thoughts of the good ol days when you’re young and don’t have a care in the world, just being with the people who mean the most. For me, it brings me back to my grandmothers, who I miss dearly. Her recipes come from our Sicilian family, passed down to my mother and to my sister and I. I’m sure other cultures can relate but the sopranos and specifically David chase captured the feeling of the Italian American experience 100%. My sister and I do our part to continue tradition and host the family dinners for each occasion so our children will have the wonderful memories we do.

I've heard people say it, but I could never understand how a book/movie/show could change a person's life. Not until I started watching "The Sopranos"! A few seasons in, and I had decided to see if I could make spaghetti sauce from scratch, just like they did... and it changed everything! I've been cooking for my family ever since. I love it. The Wife loves it. And my kids *really* loved it!

An important food moment was in the first or second season when Carmela confronted Father Intintola about his behavior and telling him it’s tied up to food and sexual tension that never goes anywhere.

For context i got this quote from bobby. When janice was looking at tony sitting on a chair facing the lake she says “look at him sitting in that chair.. hes up to something “ and bobby replies “its a chair..people sit on chairs..”

As an Italian myself I can attest that food is almost every sentence being spoken by an Italian family. Dinner is considered the most important meal because it’s when the family is forced to sit down and talk to each other.

I know this channel is Soprano Theories, but Tony's death in the finale is still just that; a theory.
As for favorite food moments, we can't forget about the telltale moozadell! That pizza never-a hurt nobody! Also, to me it's always endearing how well Junior knows Carmela's lasagna. In his world of rampant masculinity, I feel like it shows a certain respect to Carmela to pick up on these details. Also, we *can't* forget Karen's ziti! One of the biggest food scenes in the show for me.

Kinda what I was thinking. Just ends. Could be just that an ending point, could have been arrested, could have had a heart attack. I've seen the video where he supports this theory, but I think the ending is just that. You kinda choose your own to fit in there. Now if they would do another series further down the road showing what happened later maybe it'll be revealed where the ending led to.
