You are amazing, dude! Thanks for sharing what can happen with the will to get it done. Not to mention cheap pannier racks for my DR. Like your laid back video style. Thanks for your time and energy.
Woooooooow. Im impressed..no w i have an idea of how ill fix mine...ive been waiting for a certain mech to confirm my appointment for a pannier rack and he's taking ages or not interested with doingvit for me...ill make one like that then share with you....will buy the steel and head on to a welder and use your video as the manual. Thanks i like it❤❤❤❤
Top work mate. I refused to pay the silly prices being asked for pannier racks. I was going to go the ebay cheapies and modify them. Then I got lucky. A bloke I knew bought a heap of Compass Expedition gear when they went bust. I bought 4 sets of SW motech racks of him for $50. Cut off all the brackets and then made or adapted them to fit the bike. I never plan to explore 2 up so I put the racks a lot further forward than you have. All the commercial ones are level with the rear axle or behind it which I didn't want.
I made a set out of an old forklift pallet I found outside Bunnings one night. Just a rusty old hand saw, some nails and an old boot heel for a hammer. Works awesome dude !
great vid, im in the process of making some for my DR650 and you have given me some ideas, i will do a short vid once i get around to making them and show you, cheers. PS: I'm lucky to have a mate that owns a sheet metal shop, I can go around and raid his shelves for materials. He would make them for me but I'd rather have a go my self.
Too bad i don't have a welder. I'm trying to make a side rack to mount a 5 L metal jerrycan to an old Transalp. YT isn't much help, well i have a rivet gun, hack saw and a drill. I guess they'll have to do👍🇳🇱
That was great. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. Now I have a good idea of the best way to make these for my bike. ❤
Loved it. Great job.

Nice design, I was thinking to do the same using a 12 mm solid round bar for my 2018 Yamaha FZ 250. Warm regards from India ❤
Nice job!👍
Life is DIY so why not panniers! Rare video as it shows it all.
Great job. People pay hundreds of dollars for the same thing. Well done..

Jump on eBay 110 dollars shipped you can get old stock drz400sm panniers. With about 2 bucks worth of brackets from bunnings. Rock solid.
I heard the drz racks wouldn't fit the dr.. if I knew that I would have hit it up straight away!
