$260.00. Rick my brother, love ya but really 260.00 dollars US. You and Guy made another fantastic video though. Keep it up.
Greenkeeper woke up and chose violence that day. 😂
He used his imagination you mean
Guy, that's total class to keep smiling and compliment your playing partner when your game is struggling.
Are you a 10 on the bumder scale?
@SteveNinetyski known as a "Guy Special"
He was striking the ball really well tho, just couldn't putt. Good ball striking will keep you in good spirits.
You know Rick's his boss?
@guy let me know if you want to swap putters - mine doesn’t miss 😊
I’ve been watching Rick religiously for the last 2.5 years and I feel like his putting in the last few videos with the mallet have been the best I’ve seen from him. I’ve also always thought he performs better with mallets when he tests them out but ends up going with a blade anyway (granted we don’t see everything happening behind the scenes). To me it just goes to show how mental this game is. Not only on the course but picking gear as well. Seems like a lot of us, including me, pick our equipment a lot of the time based on what we’ve convinced ourselves fits our game instead of what we really need. Love your videos, Rick and thanks for getting me hooked on golf!
Love when Rick and guy play together but nothing is better than when James Robinson tags along with the two of them as well! Need to get him back on the program!
JR is good for RS mental game
Rick Fryer Carter and Finch....now those were the best videos
Get shot of Guy, add in James
@@Ballroot84get over it, Fryer's been kicked into the weeds...
Rick great / James Robinson one of my favourite you tube golfers guy really annoying
Someone peed of the greenkeeper yesterday when he set those pin positions!
Yeah, they've mentioned it in the podcast that they were little bit ridiculous. Some were for sure. I don't know if course thinks people will consider it more difficult/desirable because of pins. It's not just about that.
Would love to see you play some of the courses in Ireland like royal County Down or royal portrush
Nice one boys! None of this desert Dubai stuff or Florida grass. Good old howling winds and swimming pool bunkers. The great British golf course! More please. 👏👏
Tough pin positions today so well played both of you
I don’t think the green keepers like you with the pin positions 😂
Green protection over the winter
@@jameswebb9859 Nope. Rick mentioned from his podcast that someone from the club told him after the round that they intentionally put the pin in those ridiculous spots because pros over the winter shot very low at the club and didn't want their course to be seen as easy on Rick's youtube channel.
Also think having so many bunkers gur played apart. The bunkers are normally super penal!
@@yhc687 it’s more to do with the wet conditions of the course. The pins are on the edge to help protect the greens and also placed on high points to avoid the wet ground conditions
Honestly, Rick and Guy is the best version of Break75, bit of banter and some real-life golf!
What banter 🤷♂️ guy talks a good game but doesn’t execute which is just boring…say nothing guy and just hit shots and might be a bit of a better watch
@@chriswatson5708aye will be brilliant if he just walks around in silence shooting 10 overs, geez peace chris fella
@chriswatson5708 and yet, here you are!
Too real life.
Imagine being a foreigner who speaks fluent English (or thought they did) until trying to understand these two. Impossible.
I'm really pleased I got to meet you at the driving range Rick, thanks so much for the pic 👍
I’m not sure Rick could break 75 playing my home course from the whites but still love watching!
Need to see Rick shiels VS Bullard for the CZcams golf scene
Jimmy schools him
Rick has already bottled out of that match
I'd love to see it. It would be a close game. If the game was how many excuses Rick would make vs how many shots he took.
Bullard would batter him
Imagine. I don't think Rick would do it. Couldn't take the shame of the beating.
Guys apology after the 60 footer was so funny
Stats at the halfway mark are great! Keep this going please.
Happy Fariways to everyone watching this video! Cheers!
Is that how they spell “fairways” on the other side of the pond?
@@cameron7191
@@cameron7191apparently it’s how they spell it on this side as well. Watch the video again
@@cameron7191 Yes, together with green's 🤣
@@cameron7191it was mispelled in the vid
Old Bluey's retirement is like a Rolling Stones fairwell tour: Lots of talk about it over the years but never seems to happen. 😋
The pins are on edges of greens to protect them. Standard green keeping technique during poorer weather
Rick mentioned in his podcast that someone from the club after the round told him that some pros had shot very low scores over the winter and they’d set the pins hard as they didn’t want him doing the same.
@@peep5118Rick shooting a very low score? Good one.
Played it yesterday. Fantastic course, excellent condition. The pin placements are all tricky .I dread to think how fast the greens are in summer, they were quick on a cold damp morning in April. The bunkers are far deeper that they look on this video.
I feel your pain, as of late, Guy. I hit 12/18 greens yesterday, and had at least 7 birdie looks inside of 8’. I shot 3 over! Putting slumps destroy your confidence, and in turn destroy your focus on your line, and speed. It almost makes you feel embarrassed over every putt, knowing you’re going to miss again. However!… All it takes is ONE GOOD PUTTING DAY to gain that confidence back. Then, you feel like you can make anything inside of 20’. This game is 75% based on confidence, especially for low HC players. I really admire players that can get off to a rough start, and then still shoot an under par round. I struggle with this. My first 3 holes set the tone for the rest of my round. I saw your confidence leave you early with the putter today, Guy. It was very eye-opening, because I think I’m the same way. I was like you yesterday. I struck the ball good, but I lost my focus early on with the putter, and just never could gain my confidence enough to get it back. I’m gonna really start working on this. My 3 over could have easily been a 1 under. And, your round could have easily been 4-5 shots lower, if the confidence hadn’t drained out of you early on. Let’s both make a vow to play every shot, and every putt, with positive focus, from here on out. Haha
Your game sounds a lot like mine; failing to go low despite 12 greens and some good birdie looks. I’ve vowed to improve my putting and have started keeping track of an informal “shots gained putting” stat on my rounds. I just estimate based on knowing the tour pros make 50% from 6-7 ft, 10% from 30 ft, and almost never 3 Jack. I was pretty disappointed but guess I expected to lose about 3-4 shots per round from putting alone. The pros will often shoot 68 when they hit 12 greens. I know there are other factors like proximity and getting near par 5’s in 2 but just thinking about this has made me concentrate more and I think it’s helping a lot. Good luck
@@yt551217 Hit 10/18 GIR today. Shot 7 over(different course). My putting is at an all time low. No lie. lol. I only hit one horrible shot today. Topped a 3W. Other than that, I struck it solid all day. No OB. No hazards. No double bogies. 2 birdies, and 9 tap in bogies. Chips aren’t finishing close enough, and not holing putts is killin me!
Keep practicing, maybe take a putting lesson to get you on the right track, Putting practice has high rewards. 20 years ago I had a chance to play a round of golf w Rick Fehr (I know his dad) who was recently just off the tour and had at least one year been the #1 putter. I expected his drives and irons to be good. They were, but not that different than a plus 2 Hcp player that I know. His short game and especially his putting just blew me away. Seeing that up close is something I’ll never forget. Drained everything under 10 ft, the rest ALWAYS had a chance to go in and anything over 30 ft just snuggled up to stress free tap ins. It was amazing and I think of it quite frequently when I see good players (sometimes even scratch) putt because they’re not even close to his level. Good luck; our discussion has me inspired to get my putting practice to priority 1!
@@yt551217 Thanks. And that’s very good advice. I know I have it in me, because I shot my all time best round last summer, with 23 total putts, and 13 one-putts(-7, 65). Now, I’ll admit that was a freakishly wild putting day, but I used to consistently have less than 30 putts per round. I’m in a confidence slump right now with short game. But, a good lesson just may refresh my mind. Let’s get this back on track! Haha
Just starting to watch this and glad to see Guy playing. I enjoy the videos when you play a round together 🏌️⛳🏌️
Want to take the chance to say thanks for the video playing at dunstanburgh castle a while back. Saw this over Christmas time and ended up booking a trip away to play that and some other nearby courses, ended up having a brilliant couple of days playing on a couple of incredible courses!
Grats on keeping the same balls. I'm still a bit of a hack (haven't broken 105 yet) but have played six times this year and only lost one ball. Which for me is *stellar*
Another most enjoyable watch thanks guys! The greens looked like they were recovering from coring - must have made putting and distance control difficult. RS certainly putting much better recently.
Really want to see you play silverdale it’s such a beautiful course , and has some really unique holes that are mental when you play first time. The owners are absolutely awesome and been around a few courses over the years
Rick and Guy playing together is way more enjoyable to watch than any other combo! Love Guys attitude as well
I think Guy is great on these Break 75's , love you two together !!! but with all your crew and you there can somebody please give Guy a coin to mark his ball !!!!
Loved this, the pins were harsh though haha. That grey 1/4 zip is nice also.
You got proper stitched up with those pin positions lads.
I've played it lots of times and its a really tough track anyway but one of my favourite courses its brilliant 👏
Great entertainment, thanks Rick and Guy. The Hiotchkin course blue tees plays at 7000 yds with a course rating of 75.3. That is incredibly difficult and your scores today while a little frustrating to you were very good. Guy especially hit a lot of greens and if he had a pro type putting day he’d have scored near if not under par. Not knowing the greens, having tough pin positions certainly makes it understandable to putt poorly but once he got off to a bad start (and this happens to me all the time) the tension in your hands / arms makes it impossible to drain any putts at all. He hits it so well that he’s got to get that putting better; maybe try the claw; it has really help me. Good luck
Always a pleasure to watch you two golfing even when youre having a tough round
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Cheers guys.
Classic Break 75. All the videos are enjoyable but Rick and Guy playing together in this format make for the best viewing on CZcams. Respect to Rick for being open and honest about the course setup.
Was my local course. Due to the number and position of the bunkers I always managed to focus on my game. A great great course in a lovely village setting. You’ll love it in the summer. Good luck!!
I love watching your videos. Has definitely helped my game!!
Love these videos. Best way to relax ever ❤
Really enjoy watching you two fella's play. Two great mates, just enjoying the game. Top Trumps!
*good to see OLD BLUE still in the bag* 💙
Nothing quite like Rick & Guy - thanks and keep it going please
This is what me make me excited on a Friday keep it up Rick keep smashing it 👊
Friday night. Been out for a few pints. Time to watch Rick and Guy butcher one of the best courses the UK. LOVE IT!!!
Those pin positions are absolutely outrageous. Its things like that that would put me off going to a course
Loving the lexicon.........Tonk(ed) reminds me of school talk (some 40-50 years ago in Manchester)! Mullered - a great word with multiple uses, especially to describe over-indulgence in alcohol! loving it boys!
20:40 golf in a nutshell. Love the videos Rick, keep it up!
Always looks a laugh when Guy plays, great atmosphere 👌🏻
Seem to have had a good solid start to the year Rick. Bryson has certainly helped your swing speed👏👏👏👍
Ooff... the look that lady gave you as you were denouncing sausage rolls.... 🤣 Daggers.
Lot of people talking about the pin positions but having played junior golf there (and going back when there is the chance!) these are genuinely the standard pin positions for the course 😂 It's a nice journey down memory lane. Glad that Rick took a trip to Woodhall.
great vid as usual gents. please try the hotchkin in the middle of summer. blind tee shots, firm fairways with run offs into bunkers that are not GUR, deep green side bunkers, firm fast greens with easier pins.............had the pleasure of playing it twice. twice it killed me.........
Great to see Whoodhall again ! I was a member there for a couple of years inthe early 70's whilst stationed at RAF Coningsby. I was a budding player in those days and theyallowed me a membership because of my handicap. Hotchkin was a stockbroker in London he owned ithe course then, Alf Fixter was the Pro they used to walk the course every 2 weeks taking notes as to what was needed. I remember practicing one evening hitting a 1 iron off the 3rd Tee, he saw me and gave me a right old bollocking for hitting iron off the tee. Great course , th6th par 5 I hit a 3 wood & 7iron on to the green (with the old gear wood and blades) Who needs this modern rubbish! My best round there 84 and played my arse off! Par 73 Standard Scratch73 for those who know what that meant not this bloody slope nonesense.
Like seeing Guy playing. Good video! Thanks
Guy is hysterical. Please have him in a few more videos. Great fun you two.
Thanks for bringing Guy with you.
Played some golf there when I was at university in Lincoln. Fantastic golf course. Would be much better in summer when the heathers in flower and the course is firmer.
I love all of your videos, but they are so much better with Mr. Charnock. Cheers Guy, you're the straw that stirs the drink!
That is a stellar score, on a course with a slope rating of 152.
I almost feel like targeting 75 does Rick and his fan base a disservice. I think in all the time I've watched the series he's broken 75 like once? Maybe twice? It makes every outing feel like a failure/disappointment, even when he plays well. I'd prefer something he pulls off about half the time.
Guy is an absolutely hilarious man. He has to be one the most fun people to play a round with, no matter condition.
Played the hotchkin a couple times, fabulous course & the best part you can play for a green fee that is a lot less than other highly rated clubs. Not cheap still but affordable in an overnighter with a hotel included
The break 75 is the best series of all CZcams golf. Good good major very close second.
Not by a country mile. Luke Kwon in New Zealand, particularly with Tooms and Tae (Taco Golf). Great courses, real golf, but funny AF if you can get into a bit of Korean/ Kiwi humour
@@andyfrizzell4352Harry Na is my favorite. Charismamen.
Love the little bit of Dan Grieve release 3 greenside shot on 14! Grip it and flop it!
Great video guys! The amount of filming staff seems to have increased exponentially
I wonder if Peter Finch called the greens keeper before your round......😂
Can’t wait for you to come out to the West Coast of the US, Rick. It would be awesome to see you play Pebble Beach
Well played Guy. Best you've played that in ages.
I can just hear the @wesleybryan chirping Rick every time he putts from 35 yards off the green.
Thanks for the content Rick. One thing I would love you to add is some commentary when you miss a shot. If you hit a big hook with your driver (which I tend to do) I would like to hear your thoughts on why. I struggle with fixing my poor shots during a round, I would like to hear what you think during your rounds.
just pulled it a touch is the understatement of the round :P but what i love is you never give up and tbf that greenkeeper had something bad happen the day before lol those pins were horrid but another great video with Guy really like how you compliment each other and always makes great viewing. I would also say watching you putt out is a nice thing to see on a channel and others i watch with stroke play say yeah that's good and I'm like wait what it's not match play you can't give someone a putt on stroke play lol but so many channels do :/.
One of the best in uk and also one of best winter playing courses in england. It plays as well in January as most courses do in july
The look at the camera, followed by "Sorry" from Guy, had me in stitches.
Guy's energy in this episode is everything haha
I was a member there 76 / 78 pre England golf. They seem to have removed an awful lot of the gorse but still a great course.
Gorse, trees everything. A lot easier now than it used to be.
Is there a clause in Guy's contract that he's not allowed to beat Rick or get close? 🤔😂😂
Love playing with people like Guy. He's having an insanely frustrating round and is still good vibes and complementing his partner's shots. Rick could learn a thing or two from him lol
Love another episode involving Guy, iconic duo!
That putt on the 9th was my favorite shot. :)
*YES RICK!* ⛳
Most enjoyable watch yet again keep them coming as it’s my Friday treat
Brilliant content. You both elevate each other. I like it 😅😂
Frog and Toad are together again!! ❤️
Rick I’ve followed you for years. Great reviews and content the best. Could you retest the Pxg golf ball
Thanks for the video! I will continue to ask until it comes to be. Can you come to Canada and do a break 75 at Cabot Cliffs and Links?
Greenkeepers knew you were coming Rick, 😂😂 tricky pins not stupid pins,
Love that top, want one please leave description rick
ricky amazed by your chipping it looks great and to see yo been happy as you go round and no moaning! awesome loved the video and guy just seemed very unlucky! or should of just hit the ball harder when putting lol keep up the great vids guys.
Always enjoy when Guy plays on the channel.
Greens look pure, fair play to the green keeping team, especially the weather the UK has been pounded with. 👏👏
Guy, Cleveland HB Soft Premier #8, give it a whirl. Rest of your game is so good!
Rick, great scrambling and lots of luck in that round, but I’ve come to expect that from you. Well played.
Guy’s 2nd on 17. “Aaargh it’s a bit heavy”, that divot had its own area code
Some of the best putting I've seen on this channel yet 🤣
Par sauce🎉 I love Guy’s attitude!
Rick and Guy together make some of the best content on the TUBE -
GUY!! I was the same with my putter, just trying too hard. I stopped over thinking it and almost not caring as much and it made a world of a difference! Hope you figure it out. Cheers
A great watch again. Challenging pin positions but then it is still winter so the green keepers are protecting the greens.
20:41 Very interesting insight into your thought process. With a pitch like that why are you thinking you need to be aggressive to pitch it over the bunker?? You can see with your action a big dip through impact. My coach always taught me to think of pitching and chipping just like a putting stroke. People who putt well generally have a back stroke about 1/2 to 2/3 the length of there through stroke. He said to have the thought of swinging through an hour longer than your back swing. If you want to hit a pitch with a 9 o'clock back swing then you follow through needs to be at least 10 o'clock or longer.
Pin position makes golf as interesting as it can be.
The beauty of this game is shots out of nowhere that get rewarded.
Rick, you need to go and try this at the Nicklaus course, at St Mellion in Cornwall. It's a beast of a course
Old Bluey doing bits on this course! Well played Rick
Those pin positions are used in the Netherlands to protect the greens… So the main middle area is less used
Don't feel bad, Guy. I just had my first round in my league for the year and I had had 24 puts in 9 holes. You did fine.
Saving the middle of the greens for the members tomorrow!
