    I used to just ask what they all meant and the bartenders I've faced always loved explaining what each method does and how it fits certain drinks. Just ask like a normal human being XD

    There’s some helpful tips in there, but I feel like as hospitality workers, it our job to guide our guests through ordering a drink.

      MNINR believe it or not alot of people drink martinis on the rocks. Older people that I serve drink them alot because it makes the drink last longer for them

      @@auto_math No, dumbass, a rocks glass is easier to hold and less likely to spill than a martini glass, and whether you're out for a long night of drinking, or just having an afternoon cocktail, it doesn't hurt to dilute the drink some. Only immature amateurs are afraid of ice.

    If someone ordered a Martini with no other specifications and the bartender DOESNT make them a gin martini, up, with a twist, that bartender doesn't know the spec of a martini and should be ashamed of themselves.

    I always feel stupid because I don’t drink and I don’t know what to order @33years old I was never into the night life when I was younger (aka my 20s) and I don’t like the taste of any alcohol 🍷 🤷🏽‍♀️ so I need help on what to order

      @@sohammitra3100 Someone who doesn't like the taste of alcohol should probably order a cocktail because it can mask the flavor. They shouldn't drink straight spirits.

      Experiment with tasting different alcohols and cocktails to see if you can find anything you like. If you find you don't like anything, don't drink alcohol. It's not a requirement anywhere that I know of.

    Wine bars are the opposite in Australia. Literally the cheapest alcoholic thing you can drink. The government barely taxes wine.

    I like martinis at home. The first time I ordered one at a nice bar I said “I’ll take a beefeater gin martini, 5:1 ratio please with a twist.” And the bartender told me not to tell him how to make a martini. I scraped the martini and asked for a beer. 😂

    Eh people are calling this pretentious (and it is; the worst that will happen if you don't know what you're ordering is your friends will lightly tease you), but I feel like this is an important video for first time drinkers. I drink a decent amount, but I've never had the inkling to order a martini, so now I know :)

    Japanese bar. Drink whatever you want, as much as you want for the same price. Tipping is forbidden. But don't forget to tell them not to put ice in a whisky when you want it straight.

    You know what's annoying? Asking for Rum on the rocks. Most of the time I have to ask what kind of liquor is available, cause I'm not going to sit there sipping well shots all night, that's not an experience it's a feat of strength.
    If you ask for bombay sapphire and club soda with a lime or orange twist, and they come back with a typical tanqueray and tonic, you gotta hope it's free. Otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.

    Did not help at all. I usually have to go the bar and ask the bartender what whiskies they have. Sometimes I ask the bartender what good whisky cocktails he knows. If he names more than a couple I ask him to tell me a bit more about them. I must be a huge pain in the ass I guess.

      Well see thats where you are wrong, because like many stores certain bars only have certain drinks because of what type of bar it is, you will not find cocktails at a bar in iowa near the cornfields in a small town, you will find nothing but shots of jack and beer. So think about what you want to drink, before you go to a certain bar, because whether you like it or not, not all bars have every single drink, unless you're looking for 2-3 mix drinks like jack and coke, gin and tonic, and a daiquiri
