This is one of the best performances ever played Purple live. Gillan said the scream he sang every night in this song put in danger his voice, but he didn't care. He said maybe helped he wore very tight pants.
How many could I give to live in '70ies and watch a concert like this one, be among this audience. But these times won't come back.:( Long live Deep Purple!
In 1972, these guys were holding their own creatively ompeting with Zeppelin, Sabbath, Yes, ELP, The Who.... Great, Great time to be 13-14yo... now my kids age. And Daddy's stil diggin these sounds. Rock on, everyone. I can only hope you young guitarists are out there practicing for the rest of us soemday...
Deep Purple es el mejor grupo de rock duro de todos los tiempos, me encantan!!! y el tema; Extraño tipo de mujer es unos de los mejores temas de ellos con diferencia.
And you have a reason to be proud. I hope that Deep Purple will visit my country. That would be great. It would be the luckiest day in my life also for me, to see Deep Purple live. Now my luckiest day is this, when my mother said, that I'm looking like Ian Gillan.
MilekCliff, I agree with you. How many times will I have tought that? But this video is great!! And, however, the two Deep Purple concerts I've been in 2004 and 2007 were the luckiest days in my life!
Somebody else made the comment about bands all sounding the same live these days...there was a time you could watch a band two nights in a row and be guaranteed something different...bloody record companies and promoters have knocked that on the head! This was the era!
a great jam band. I've been watchin a bunch of these old videos, Deep Purple and Zeppelin mostly, from the early 70's and it just occurred to me that we have a bit of scat happening when the vocalist does a call and response with the melody line instrument in this case the guitar and it's one thing that makes these bands special. Scat comes from the jazz tradition one of the best known being Ella Fitzgerald
This is real feelings, made by a couple of guys who loved to play. And look-no listen how it can turn out. In the very beginning they also where professionals because they just loved the music. If someone would take a picture-"just take, it we won`t make it up". It was just a so short period they hold together. It`s so sad
@nosupecualponerme .. yes.. my sons (7 and 13 y.o) listen every day Led, Deep and so on.. They sings togheter Higway Stars every time in my car , during any trip. greetings from Italy.
Yeahhh right onn deep puple have the soul of rock n roll and the band is so nice mostly ian it is one of the nicest person i met in my life rock on deep purple YEAHHHHHH!!!!(montreal july 28 th ) allright!
Ah yes the infamous 'Purps and their live rendition of 'Strange Kind Of Woman' from '72. Now for all those hip-hop fans out there...THIS IS ROCK MUSIC! If you don't like it at least appreciate the fact that it was made 37, yes that's correct THIRTY SEVEN years ago and still is as popular NOW as it was THEN. Hip-hop crap has a shelf life well short of that.
. . . the inner spiritual revolution of the younger in the 70's . . . expressed in their music forms and physical gyrations as against the submissive and suppressed states of those beings attached to their beliefs in religious institutions and self-proclaimed prophets ! MAY FREEDOM LIVE ON AND BE REALIZED BY US BEINGS !
Lucky you! I still can't stand waiting for this great day. And when I heard, that I'm looking like Gillan, I didn't see big resemblance between me and him... but now I think, that on some photos and movies I really resemble him and my friends are becoming jealous, when I talk about it. :)
@fineart10 those dudes are the pioneers of heavy metal...not to mention my favorite band of all,man...i started played drums because of those guys...u.u i went to their show last year, needless to say i almost cried of so much happiness right?;D they are not like they were in this time, but i don´t care, they will be always my favorite...=x
@000jonzi000 They will live on forever, sure! We have to pass this music on over our kids and their kids Music nowadays is nothing compared to these bands. Love them all: Grew up in Hamburg in the Sixties, lived the whole story live, best time of my life.
John Lord puts in a que to let them know that it is time to wrap it up after Gillan and Blackmore had been playing tag for a little while...I guess that's why it was always his band. Good stuff!!
I am a bass player too, and I love Roger Glovers style, therefore I long for every second he's on, but I absolutely agree with you. This is an absolute no-go!
whats gonna happen when this music is forgotten! purple, zep, floyd, bad co! i grew up with these bands, been influenced by them all, musicians who have played for the love of music. nowdays people have no idear who these bands are, or who influenced the bands that they listen too. in 50 years from now, will they be forgotten, drowned out by fame chasing money grabing talentless nobodys?
Now I want to see you... :P I really hope for yout that they visit your country soon! I just was at the front, two meters distance between me and Ian Gillan, Roger glover and Steve Morse! (Don Airey and Ian Paice were more at the back of the stage)it was so great... There is also some stuff from that concert on youtube.
Dp, Lz and Bs. The originals. Uriah also were there a time but it`s whats matter which counts. This is like 68-73. Then we have the partyrock or glambands like KISS and Aerosmith who were also great and newblood in heavy rock n roll. I also love some of the 80`s heavymetalbands like Mötley, Accept and Wendy ò`Williams
I used to like Glen during the 74 era and very much after purple when he made his Burning Live in Japan album. Then i stoped liking him after he got into funk, and the farther he goes into it the worse he gets.
This is one of the best performances ever played Purple live. Gillan said the scream he sang every night in this song put in danger his voice, but he didn't care. He said maybe helped he wore very tight pants.
One of the most talented and innovated bands of there time!! Deep Purple Rocked!
How many could I give to live in '70ies and watch a concert like this one, be among this audience. But these times won't come back.:( Long live Deep Purple!
great stuff! this is deep purple at their peak! after 1972 began their decline!
He's not body builder, he is an artist, musician.
He is guitar god.
All great bands! Nobody was as hot as Gillan and Dave Gilmour. Of course the music is out of this world.
"oh my soul, i love you"
Deep Purple es el mejor grupo de rock duro de todos los tiempos, me encantan!!! y el tema; Extraño tipo de mujer es unos de los mejores temas de ellos con diferencia.

Intense!!! Breathtaking!!! Surreal!!!
Somebody else made the comment about bands all sounding the same live these days...there was a time you could watch a band two nights in a row and be guaranteed something different...bloody record companies and promoters have knocked that on the head! This was the era!
Blackmore and Gillan seem to have such a good time here, it's hard to imagine how serious the problems were between them.
