    Can I just say thank you for those example questions to ask to my interviewers? I watched this video a few times, and those questions stuck in my head, those who interviewed me were well impressed with the questions. So thank you!

    Not every applicant is guaranteed to be accepted into the master program ,so what would be the best contingency or backup plans in case you don't get enrolled into the program especially with an undergraduate degree(psychology,kinesiology,biology etc)that most likely won't help you land a job?

    Hi! Did you send any thank you notes after your interviews? I’ve been advised to do that, but I’m so afraid I’ll forget my interviewers names. I could bring the notebook and write them down. And if I do that, do you think thank you emails would suffice?

    Thanks so much for posting these tips! I'm in the application process right now and just heard back about an interview from my first school! Do you have any suggestions on particular sites for further interview questions that you found useful?

      Hi Lisa! Good luck on the application process! If you are looking for current admissions information, I would take a look at The Student Doctor Network. You might be able to find past questions for schools you are applying to. You can also ask any interview questions you might have. I hope that helps!

    When applying to OT school, did you have any group interviews? If so, how would you recommend preparing for one?

    When defining occupational therapy, is it better to state what all of it is in one sentence or to elaborate on it a bit? I have my interview this coming up Friday and I'm trying to prep as much as I can!

      @itsmyOT  Před 8 lety +1

      +Lisa W. Good luck with your interview! I usually start with a one sentence overview and then follow up with more detail if the person seems confused or wants more information. But, it is totally up to you to do whatever feels most comfortable. I don't think either way is wrong. :)

      itsmyOT thank you for the fast reply! I have a one sentence definition but if they ask for an elaboration, I'll go into more detail about the type of settings they can work in, characteristics that are required to be a good OT, and how the career differs from other Healthcare related careers. :) Crossing my fingers!!

    This video is great thanks. Im in high school and wondering what courses I should be taking. Basically I'm told chemistry biology math and English. Pls help

      @andreyzagoruyko5390 Před 9 lety

      Yep, those would sure do. -Don't worry about math as much. . . just do algebra and geometry (the math needed to pass the math portion of the GRE test). Trig is optional, and Pre-Cal or Calculus is certainly a waste of time if you've decided to stick with this career. I would also add to the list Anatomy and Physiology, if it is offered at your high school. These are the hardest classes I've had to take throughout my entire 4-year journey (I have a Bachelor's in Exercise Science and am going to my OT interview tomorrow). So. . . how it works is, you need algebra to understand chemistry (100/161), and biology (100/161/170) and chemistry (100, 161, 162, 163) to understand A+P. -I took my A+P classes before taking all of these,and since I had no foundation of chemistry or biology, I got pretty bad grades in them. -Don't worry about physics either, though it is covered a little in the first class of your chem series. I know I'm not itsmyOT, but let me know if you have any other questions. . .

      Andrey Zagoruyko soochhay
      Thanks for helping answer the question! I agree with what Andrey mentioned in their reply. Biology is going to be extremely helpful because that will be a prerequisite for getting into Anatomy which is a prerequisite for OT school. As Andrey said, Chemistry can be helpful to understanding some of the more advanced classes and may also end up being a prerequisite to Anatomy or Physiology depending on your college. If your school has Anatomy or Physiology, I would definitely recommend taking those so you'll have a background for when you have to take them in college. If you have time in your schedule, physics might be useful. I know some OT schools have physics as a prerequisite, but not all. I would also recommend statistics if you school offers it. Also, since you already know you are interested in OT, it wouldn't hurt to see if you can start to work on volunteering or shadowing with OTs! Good luck on any classes you take and enjoy!
