In 1906, Brigham Young University students hiked up Y mountain overlooking campus and built a block "Y." Since that day, the 'Y" has symbolized unity and service for the BYU community.
The "drafting professor" mentioned in the video was my Grandfather George C. Laney. He was also one of the first four graduates of BYU the year it became a university.Check FamilySearch for his bio.
The short video clip of a man catching the greased pig is R. Sears Hintze. Family folklore has said that Mr. Hintze and President Wilkinson were both going after the pig. Mr. Hintze managed to get a better hand on it and hold on to the pig. Fun to see the clip.

This video put a smile on my face. It has been there my whole life and it means "home" to me, too.
Best school EVER!

Very well done Video!
Cool!
I climbed up Y Mountain to the Y in 1953 with no trail to follow. Just climb up till you get there.
