So the editor altered this talk’s ontology by erasing from the crowd’s superposition of (not)laughing... Excellent application

hey, is there anyone who knows which rubidium-atom-which-slit-experiment prof. Barad is talking about? (around 25. minute)

Brilliant. Thank you, Karen Barad, Physicist and Philosophy. Yes, people, she was a physicist before she was a philosopher. Humanities would want to pull their act together and learn a few basic math and physics skills before embarrassing themselves.

Professor Karen Barad thesis on the Beings of Time/s makes Martin Heidegger's 'Being & Time' read just like the folk-lore myths of a village idiot! Heidegger never understood the time-beings of Dasein because Heidegger misunderstood Dasein so misconceived time.

If you are from the humanities, and think this must be profound, because of all the physics references in this talk, then let me tell you:
IT IS A TOTAL SCAM !
    Greetings from the physics department.

@@aanniea Karen Barad has first and foremost a feminist, pacifist, environmentalist, political message that we may find superficially agreeable, but more on that later. Given that sympathy, you may be delighted to hear that she can give scientific support for it from something as authoritative as quantum physics. I am not.
None of her social and cultural statements are connected to the physical ones in the way that she claims. In fact, on the material level, physics itself can prove that there is no such connection (decoherence). And metaphorical use of scientific language is always misleading.
What repels me, is that she deliberately seeks audiences who do not have sufficient judgement capability: You have to know the equations to see through this. She lets the people celebrate herself, as the 'physicist' that supports the movement, but in fact she belittles them.
Am I interested in her political views after that? No more.

@@meahoola Meanwhile the philosophy & foundations of physics are very interested in the nature of time & its significance in the framework of quantum mechanics, and are in fact very interested to hear what Karen Barad has to say about it. I literally first heard of them in a seminar about relational quantum mechanics, I think it was Carlo Rovelli mentioned their concept of intra-action, with very direct reference to Everett's equations, which I suspect Karen does know btw, being as they have an actual PhD in theoretical physics. Yet you seem very quick to dismiss their credibility, because...feminism? I think this says more about you, my dude.

Lots of gormless faces in the audience, lapping up the phrases because they don't really understand the Physics which has been cherry-picked and transformed into this pseudoscience.
I bet not one of them went away and used this new way of thinking to produce any useful work that could predict anything.
