The semantics don't matter
I heard this quote from the President of El Salvador recently.. "If your government can print unlimited amounts of money, then WHY do they charge you taxes?" Great question.
Yes they are not looking for revenue but obedience
Because there are many governments throughout history that started printing money to pay the bills. It always ends the same way. With hyperinflation and currency collapse.
One purpose of high taxation is to suck up the money supply and reduce the inflation which resulted from printing it.
The government borrows money. It cannot print it. The Federal Reserve prints money but does not have passports.
Definitely how I've thought about it... Makes more sense then the popular explanation.
Freedom of speech and choice should be the cornerstone of any FREE Country. The fact is that over the last four years we have seen just how far these so called 'free countries' will go to control how you spend your time, and very soon money.
Keep up the good work in helping people work out what may be better alternatives.
Taxes on companies here in the US is absolutely nuts!! I just got an “assessment” on my business and need to pay almost 12% on assets that I have, paid taxes during the purchase of these assets and need to pay the 12% every single year. Its just crazy
".....rights aren't rights if someone can take them away. They're privileges. That's all we've ever had in this country is a bill of TEMPORARY privileges; and if you read the news, even badly, you know the list get's shorter, and shorter, and shorter." George Carlin from his last standup "It's Bad For Ya" (2008).
That's what rights are in essence though. The idea of "natural" rights as if you could find them under a rock in the state of nature is utterly absurd. In this case, the contract is the Constitution and the laws it allowed, and they define the relationship between the state and the citizen. It's an asymmetrical contract where the state can change the terms, the citizen cannot. No one in his right mind would agree to an agreement of this nature, so they came up with the idea of "social contract", and claim that we consent to it.
@@will4417 Very well put, good job.
@@will4417 Most of human history the powerful has dominated the weak. I was thinking yesterday that the term "monopoly" used in economics should be replaced with "kingdom." Humans in large groups normally form dominance hiarchies.

They do die for their rights so they are not truly privileged, also the US model is revolution which is an inferior form of acquiring rights, the Bill of Rights was added later also.

Yeah young kids were waking up by watching narratives approved by the CCP and teenage girls shaking tities and ass 🤡, very visible with the algorithm bias during Israel-Palestine drama.

Government equipment should not have applications dedicated mostly for leisure. Government workers shouldn't use their work equipment for personal purposes. Those policies are fine. The problem starts if they start censoring it for personal devices or, even worse, the entire population.
Same if you run a business and you lend your equipment to your employees. You're entitled to determine not only what's not allowed but you can only allow specific tools and urls that are strictly related to your activity, so your employees don't waste time and energy while they're working, on top of potential security issues.
Tik Tok - banned in Central Asia: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and pending ..... Kazakhstan.
The US wants to ban TikTok prior to the election / inauguration because it is an incredible tool to mobilize minion followers to locations / events / causes FASTER than other Social Media Platforms - and in true format of what Soros / Optor has done before - it was a wise move... it is however ill conceived as messaging will just move to another platform and be organized / launched from there.
Such an amazing countries! Can't fix their infrastructure without Russia
Why are they banning it?

This will sound horrible but I have had a dislike towards the United States since the day that I took a trip to Peru in July 1998. And it wasn't just because it was Peru. Every time I leave the United States I feel like I can relax a hundred percent. If I see a policeman, there's no feeling of being pulled over by them and the questioning this and that. Money can buy so much more. The food is so delicious. People there are not rich but they enjoy their time much more than here. And family is so important also. It is just a feeling of home and relaxation that you can never feel in the United States. Every time I boarded the plane to come back I hate it. Loatheee coming back.
Great stuff Mr Andrew,, Wish I had even a little cash I’d get with y’all🎉🎉
You cannot underestimate the importance of being free…of course none of us ARE free but we must not allow any of our remaining freedoms to be eroded or ‘they’ will never stop. Stay free.
I miss the days when Canada was just a boring country that no one paid attention to. No one ever knew anything about the Prime Minister or who they even were. Oh the good old days. Now this clown that is in office is a punchline all over the world. It’s just so embarrassing.
Yes, Justin Castro has been very problematic
@@SECRETPURPOSE That is an understatement.
@@tandanielle3875 I haven't heard a perspective of a Canadian who supports him. Across many domains, I've only known Canadians who oppose. I wonder why; aren't there elections?
@@SECRETPURPOSE Well, a large part of the problem is that the system is set up so that he only needs to pander the major centres to win. The less populated places don’t get the representation to have any power but reality is that more Canadians voted for the Conservative party than the Liberals in the last election. That said, the majority of Canadians voted for a leftist party Liberal or NDP. So those 2 parties formed a coalition government so that is why he’s still there. I think the majority of Canadians don’t really understand what’s happening because the media is funded by the government and is highly censored. We moved our family out a few years ago and I’m so happy we did. It was the best thing we ever did. We realized that we can’t change the culture. A large percentage of Canadians really are brainwashed sheep. He was voted in 3 times so I don’t have much hope that he won’t be in the next one. I also think elections are fixed in so many ways.
@@tandanielle3875 Very interesting. I remember watching tons of Canadian parliament discussions during the Trucker uprising, when I was in Texas. Now outside of North America looking in (or reminiscing)

Thank you. Does the old real search engine exist and if so where? (The one from about 2007)
What kind of global business?
I’ve been in the restaurant business.
I don't remember if that comment about China was left by me or not, but if it was, I 100% stand by it to this day as someone who isn't a rich nomad capitalist, and if it was a comment made by someone else I agree 100% and I believe it's an accurate read to what is truly happening on the ground.
You should probably do some research about how intrusive and how manipulative tiktok is towards it's users. I know because I've done some research on it. There are independent people that have posted videos on the issue of tiktok.
True, I follow alot of MMA videos on Tiktok and they keep showing me other MMA videos. Very manipulative.
Not like the Tube at all ... and it's still here.
Manipulating what
Exactly, WHICH social media platform does not manipulate comments?!
Simply put; the intolerant totalitarian Judea-Christian Zionist West will attack anyone/anything it cannot control.
And, they do this fear-mongering under the guise that they are banning social media platforms to "protect the public from propaganda"...
Kettle, meet pot. Pot, meet kettle".
In a "freemarket" democracy, it is the audience, not government, that is the arbiter of what is, or what is not, acceptable to them.
Just because expression/speech is offensive to You doesn't make it offensive to Me.
Mind your business and stay out of my business and we will get along just fine.
I know someone who worked in Canberra - they wouldn't allow Facebook on Aussie gov't computers either. They don't want people fooling around on it instead of working.
That is the same situation across all government agencies. In the defence force a member can have a Facebook account no control over it.
I’m in Guangzhou right now,
I watched a video with Vivek Ramaswamy and Ann Coulter in which they were talking about how they are against dual citizenship. Many closed minded people on the far right would agree with that concept. Policies against dual citizenship would most likely occur under a far right government. This is another example of governments wanting you to have less options while paying higher and higher taxes.
That would have been about dual citizenship in the context of the executive or Congress, would it not?
in which case I agree with the "far right" wholeheartedly
Dual citizenship is great for the individual, but not for the state
@@rezag8369 Countries especially big countries like the US want their citizens to have less options. For example, I agree with protecting the manufacturing sector but how do you do that without limiting Americans' choices of automobiles and solar panels?
Wonder if all the senators and house members with Israeli citizenship get a free pass.

Are there any actual objective stats showing where there is real economic freedom?

TikTok has been banned in Hong Kong for years
Not banned. DY is for greater China market to meet compliance for servers. TT is for outside of China market to meet respective market to meet compliance for maintaining servers.
Missed India , India is the first one that did it
Also banned in India, HK and....China. Yep, the version used outside China is banned in China.
[Edit: I live in China. The heavily policed version called Douyin is allowed here. The version you lot know as "Tiktok" (use for social engineering of the west) is actually blocked here and inaccessible without a robust VPN]
No, you're wrong. TikTok isn't banned in China, it was created for users outside of China and they have no servers in the country. They have a better version of it in China called Douyin. TikTok is just a dumbed down version of that.
I can only say to you: go educate yourself……
It was created as a weapon to destroy the west
@@eat_ze_bugs Don't say I'm wrong only to paraphrase what I said. I live in China. Tiktok is banned here, just like facebook and IG. Douyin isn't better, its more policed.

You missed the elephant when it comes to banning TikTok. The elephant is India 😂
So when was TikTok banned in India the most populated country ? Oh years ago, so there's that. Seems the video is somewhat misleading.
Have you ever worked with superapp companies Andrew? Happy to discuss - but banning TikTok, WeChat, DiDi might not be the worst thing, since I know organizations in China which ban TikTok/DiDi from the official phones. Funny enough, they’re SOC’s. And your list of banned countries isn’t complete, missing India.
China never ban those western/American social media. One can still access them legally via a vpn. And using vpn is not illegal in China.
It practically is.

hi mr Nomad
i was born as an American, working poor, coming to Europe gave me a chance to rise up, and not be trapped in poverty.
do i speak fondly of America, no, do i miss my oppressors no.
i am grateful to Europe for giving me a chance,
i don't miss Americans not even one whits worth.
you are wealthy, i was poor, leaving America was my best
move i could have made. for the poor leaving American is also good!!!
Sounds like now you’re just a drain on European society instead of being a drain on American society.
I’m happy that you made it and that you say this because I’m in America currently and also working poor. I want to go back to my native country in Europe. I’m so tired of struggling in America and never having enough to actually live! I think many poor people would have better opportunities in Europe but people are too afraid.
I know you’re not bullish on Africa, but check out Namibia.

China didn't banned American platforms; the former requested they keep their Chinese data in China.
Those platforms refused, and opted to leave.

Andrew, you are absolutely right! Look what Ukraine is doing to its male citizens! Lucky ones who was able to escape the war now DENIDED in any embassy/diplomatic servieses. You got passport expired -> go back to Ukraine, turn yourself to the military service then we will think if issue you the new passport. One passport is a liability, this can happen anywhere.
OVER MY DEAD BODY
I have tiktok in My country
One more drape added to the American Iron Curtain.
Anything that strongly promotes human concentration to lessen to 30 seconds is a no-go for me so I personally think blocking TikTok is a good thing. It is bad enuf the US etc having our info, not to add China to the mix. Who will absolutely love this is CZcams with CZcams shorts and I am not a fan of those either. With the sheer stupid competitons ppl had on TikTok and others copied and died from, due to sheer idiocy, is not something i would follow. Altho i am very much into personal freedom, anything that damages our psyche, to me is a no-go zone and Tikok did that.
Like i dont agree on blocking it.
But im 17 from the uk, me and many of my friends even just random teenagers that ive seen on the street even young teachers have complaiend about their shortening attention span, and the amount of time they waste on it for what as if youtube wasnt bad enough.
The fact that this guy omits alot of the negatuve effects its had on young people is worrying and telling.
But some giant failure like the US Biden headed clowns should play daddy?
It was never about banning tiktok it was about government overreach determining what you the taxpayer are allowed to do or not.

If America bans them the eu and many other countries will follow too at this rate you will only be able to use it in Africa Russia and a few random Latin American and Asian countries with good relationships with china like brazil or Cambodia
you mean good relations with Singapore. Tiktok is in Singapore.
Ok, go to Russia or China and try to talk like that of those Countries
You mean like Assange, Edward Snowden or the long list of Journalists US weapons and support killed and continue to kill in Gaza today? That kind of freedom of speech? Or the support for Saudia Arabia freedom for women there… or the CIA puppet installed Gov’t of Iran type freedoms for, by and of the people post murdering of their Shar? Or the freedom to protest like in Canada with the truckers or the farmers in Europe?
Compared to the patience China had with the CIA driven students terrorising Hong Kong, dude you need to study more outside corporate controlled dictatorship western media.
Nothing will happen to you despite what you think... No one really cares about your opinions in these countries. Everyone just minds their own business as long as you don't disturb the peace.
Ah yes, and holding up a blank piece of paper definitely won't get you in trouble. Surely.
Right?
TikTok should be banned regardless of your political leaning.
China didn’t ban Google or other American tech companies….. they asked these companies to follow the law of China but they refused and left….. simple like that. China didn’t ask Google to be sold to a Chinese company or being banned; China didn’t ask the CEO of Facebook to be grilled by Chinese officials and asked dumb questions; China didn’t shut down business for “ national security “ reasons.
They are different
Yet dont they stil heavily censor there social media, like the white paper protests or when that native made airliner jet started having problems.
