MacBook Air has not surprised anyone for a long time, MacBook Pro too, despite the fact that it is the most powerful M1 MacBook, MacBook M2, or even MacBook with M3chip. And to avoid throwing your money away, watch this video to the end. Arthur Winer here, we're going to get started.

Being Apple, they will introduce Apple MacBook SE with 4GB Ram and 64GB SSD.
If it has the m chips i don't even think it's designed to work with that little bit of ram because look at the m chip ipads they all start with 8gb ram
@@19910602011 Who said anything about an M Chip. It will come with Apple A16.
As far as I know Mac OS needs 4gb all on its own
Hahaha.
It’s sad how it’s quite believable. XD
Nah not even SSD, just emmc lol
There’s already a $699 MacBook. It’s a base model M1 MacBook Air sold exclusively at Walmart online.
that's only in the USA + it's only Walmart online + less support
@@doomprrnot less support. I just got one. 30 day return policy plus can still get apple care within 60 days of purchase.
@@glorioskiola i meant software support, it's already four years old. and the 2017 macbook air didnt get sonoma, so thats around a 6-8 year (big update) support range
For 8gb that's probably the usable lifespan anyway
"exclusively at walmart" umm no? Best buy sells them new at $650
A MacBook SE 😂 That thing would have a MagSafe port, one USB C port, no head phone jack, 60 hertz display, most likely an M1 chip and chasis, 13 inch display, 8 gb ram 128gb SSD, no back light on the keyboard, low display brightness, 720p FaceTime camera, possibly even no Touch ID to keep cost low, this thing is going to be an M1 MacBook Air with 1/3 of the features 💀
Exactly what 80% of laptop users need
😂
half of those can be solved with a usb c multiport hub that costs like $40
If it weighs the same as the 12’ MacBook, it is a W
8 GB memory? I'm thinking 6 GB of ram
I think if Apple really wants to dominate the budget laptop market, they should sell a 12" MacBook for $499 & a 13" MacBook starting at $599. Both have M1 chips that are not upgradeable. Also, makes me wonder if these models are as successful as Apple hopes, maybe they will even come out with an iMac SE. Offering the same M1 chip inside.
If they really want to dominate the budget laptop market, they’d better re-release one of those unapologetically plastic MacBooks from early 2010s. Plastic is cheap, so they could give it a facelift and stick an M1 in it. But being Apple, the price would still be ridiculous.
What if the m1 to Walmart was a test for Apple to see an SE would sell?
A 12 inch m1 would sell fast!
Tie that with a iPad mini
A 12 inch m1 would sell fast! FACTS
Isn't that mystery already solved.
Since M1 Air base model is sold in Walmart for $699?
It's m1 is the thing.. the mac mini is m2 and m2 pro, so and m2 macbook se or better would probably replace it
If Apple does come out with an SE model, it'll be the same model they are selling in walmart now. That form factor is dated but iconic. Put in MagSafe and move one of the usb c ports to the other side and you'd have the perfect entry level laptop. Keep that form factor and every couple of years up date it to a newer chip. Once the M4 chip is released, I can see a line up of M4 MBA, M3 MBA then an M2 MB SE
I actually really liked the butterfly keyboard. I still have an old 15" pro that I keep around and will sometimes pull out and use for long typing sessions.
Maybe upgrade the base Mac book air to have 10 or 12gb ram and a 320gb ssd to further diferentiate from a SE model. Or use iPhone CPU for the SE as they're are generally more powerfull that a phone needs anyway.
i need to know if the design will change?
Mostly economically cheap MacBook SE with M1 and 8 GB price $599/128 or 256 GB $699 is back then a discontinued before MacBook Air M1 except reduced 12-14 hours battery will be screen 12"
Most likely if they released this the M series chips would be out of the question and we would most likely see a A series chip.
What are they gonna make next? iMac se?
I still have a 2017 MacBook, although it's a bit of a dog speed-wise compared to the Apple chips, it's fine as a secondary machine for light work (web browsing, etc.) - the reason I still have it is for the size and weight. *If* an Apple silicon equivalent comes out, I'd defininitely be interested - I just don't know how many others would, as such I'll believe it when I see it 🙂
What if they make an M3 Lite? just an idea
I think this could stick for 12 inch, because of extreme portability and expanding books app with easy publishing process… it would be a perfect device for writers and students are simple repetitive writers
I would buy that really small "The MacBook" with an m1 esp. if they could fix the keyboard issue.
If true, I can't expect price to be below $999
The 2020 MacBook Air sell at Walmart for 699
And you tell me this now when i get a macbook next friday
“MacBook 12 inch” makes more sense than the MacBook SE
I just bought a M3 Max 14inch MBP. and Im happy I did, ....at some point they'll be an M4 Max...and an M5 and so on....I already have all the performance power I need right now...anymore would be overkill and wasted power tbh
If that’s gonna drop, that thing is gonna fail miserably, in my opinion. Because the older apple silicon macs are getting a lot cheaper.
I don’t understand why Apple would do this. They’re not apparently having any problem selling their current models, it would kill their refurbished sales and lower resale value for their loyal customers. People consider MacBooks premium computers - it would run the risk of cheapening the brand just for more volume.
I’m with you - I seriously doubt this “SE” MacBook is ever coming to market!
I travel a lot and would love to have a 12 inch macbook
this would be crazy good, but please make it ergonomic - no more sharp edge for hands....
Apple isn't releasing a MacBook SE. They are selling their M1 for $699 at Walmart.
it's not Apple that sells M1 for $699 at Walmart. It's Walmart that sells M1 for $699 at Walmart. Meaning, Walmart bought a large amount of M1s at a lower price from Apple and are reselling them at a (now slightly) higher price.
@@molnvr semantics. Same thing. The device was “discontinued” but suddenly has ample stock at one retailer. It’s a great value.
@@molnvr that deal is only walmart exclsuive on the usa, worldwide they sell it at that prince in any store
@@molnvryes and also people who live in place like anywhere other that American won’t have them at that price like the uk.
Now I'm waiting for the announce of the iMac SE.
All they need to do is produce it in some funky bold colors and there will be buyers
12 inch size with the newer design of the macbook air with bold colors and any M processor for under $700 would be a hit
blah, blah, blah… No news… $699 Macbook is being sold at Walmart.
Because a $699 13.3" M1 is likely to be only $599 in the "Education Store", the price point to hit to sell them at Walmart would have to be $499. Could Apple sell them profitably at that price? Probably not, as Walmart would want a 40% margin on the retail price. Apple should just keep doing what Apple does best, charging too much for computers that need $400 in DRAM and SSD upgrades to be future proofed for a 6-10 year don't-need-to-upgrade-yet run, but work just fine in base form for casual users.
Hey, I mean if apple does release this, it will release with 3gb ram, and 32gb ssd
the old MacBook Air chases is not as durable as the new chassis for drops and accidental damage to the screens so I think a new chassis is required but using all the internal M1 components.
Ah, haven’t you heard of the MacBook WM? (walmart)
Funnily enough I think the chipset is wrong. Look at the SE iPhone lineup, it’s always new chip in an old phone. I wouldn’t be surprised if this MacBook se had a super basic M4 chipset whenever those drop. Maybe 8GB of ram but maybe 10 and the new MacBooks will start at 12 since EVERYBODY has been complaining about such low RAM numbers. 256GB hdd. One maybe 2 USB-C ports and MAYBE MagSafe. That might be pushing it. Basically a M1 Air body with an M4 chip
MacBook Air SE will use the A15 SoC!😊
I think if they put a M4 in it and 16gb ram with 256 or 512 ssd drive it might be a pretty good little laptop for the next 5 years.
Why by a MacBook Air with a 12" display when you can get a 13" M1 Macbook Air for $699 now?
Because Apple stores won't let traditional Walmart customers shop in Apple stores wearing their pajamas?
Interesting. I got an iPhone SE in 2020 and it worked perfectly for what I was looking for. A cheaper MacBook will probably be just fine for someone who likes the Mac interface and doesn’t plan on doing anything tok heavy on the processor.
Arthuur 😃
This would be a great product for a lot of people. We just want to do basic stuff on a laptop without paying a minimum of £1000. Using word, email, web browing and netflix is all that a majority of us do. Not all of us edit videos or make music. Not all of us care about top specs.
Here we go again with ChatGPT suggested video titles! 😂
how do u know
Its usefulness will peak at watching this youtube video and crying in regret.
MacBook Air/Pro not good??
you know look new Go Pro macbook high goods , or apple macbook so good
I don't want the M1 13" at Walmart. I want a 11" or 12" MacBook that's either plastic or metal, in black, not blue black, and has two USB-C ports, MagSafe, and an SD card reader. M1 chip would be fine. I want it for web browsing, transferring video from cards to SSD drives, and that's about it. In 2012 or something I was able to use my 11" MacBook Air to do all that. In 2008 I was able to use my 12" Black MacBook to do all that. I want to be able to leave my 16" MBP at home, and travel with a cheaper machine, that's sub 13".
I know I am not a marketing team in Apple but they should focus on the middle class and lower class customer than the higher class and elite, those people only loyal to their brand and barely use their MAC for anything and if they continue to focus on these elite and rich people. Then they would lose to Hauwei, Microsoft and Asus.
The story of Nokia will repeat itself.
Maybe they'll reintroduce the plastic case. Cheapos don't want to pay for premium aluminum
make one macbook se that has dimension of macbook 12inch but has 13 inch ( thanks to thinner bezel ) make it 699 with m1 it will be the most sold mac . + u will be able to get it cheaper in walmart or best buy .
Too late, I just bought an M3 Pro with 12 CPU's and 1TB of SSD 3 weeks ago.
12" MacBook was my favorite, just use M1 and 16GB and a proper battery and I have nothing to ask more. If the price is $699, I will buy two immediately!
We've seen these...
PowerBook G4 12"
MacBook Air 11,6"
MacBook Retina 12"
These never survived! Why a new attempt? This is the result from the last ~20 years. 12" is too small (and 17" is too big)!
Apple please keep the models at 13-16", please!
If you want a smaller device, then go for iPad! It's simple as that!
I really hope the rumors or dreams about MacBook SE 12" are false. We don't need that. What we need is MacBook Air with 16/512 GB for a more affordable price, it's okay with 8/256 GB as standard if 16/512 GB is not that expensive.
We can only wait and see what will happen...
I'll be glad if they just bring the 11" Macbook Air back
isn't the M1 macbook air considered the most affordable new MacBooks
Being a tech CZcamsr, you should know better, the M1 MacBook Air was NOT discontinued, they still make it, and sell it only through Walmart, and the reason why they stop selling it in their website is that they don't want it to compete against the new models when it comes to pricing.
They might put an iPhone chip in the low cost Macbook or the M2
Truth is, no one really knows what will happen while all you know it alls rave on!
Hey, if it’s an M3 with M1 body that would last 7 years for $750. I would buy it.
Did I just saw a purple MacBook?
Maybe I will die without owning a MacBook
Also imagine if Apple created this with just a mag safe port. And started the trend of no port only charger trend. Want another screen get an iPad. Want 3 get an iMac.
Could be a good hacking or network monitoring machine.
The 2020 M1 Macbook Air is pretty cheap all things considered. You can find it used for $600 or less. I purchased mine for $400.
It's ironic this video was released the very day Apple launched the M1 MBA on Walmart.
my guess is that the chip will be either m1 or m4
M1 at that price
ive owned an Macbook pro and I am happy
The Se 4 comes out next year
there no macbook se
IMO, a 12" is useless, very few people would need it.
Either buy a previous year MacBook Air if you are short on budget or an iPad if you want something ultra light and portable
That's wrong, it would be sold like hot cakes. The old MacBook was successful, but had flaws that caused problems. Processors that were far too weak and the butterfly keyboard slowed down the gorgeous Macbook 12’. These problems have all been fixed, there is now a scissor mechanism keyboard for the Magic Keyboard, which is integrated into a few mm thick housing. With an M processor, a MacBook 12’ would run. There's no point in just lowering the price of the Air M1, it's big and heavy compared to the MacBook 12.
They'll probably use 4 or 6gb of ram and say "Oh, 4gb on a mac is equal to 10gb on any other pc"
So Apple is basically bringing back the Macbook Model
Lemme guess... 4GB of ram and 128GB ssd?
Isn’t that the M1 MacBook Air ?
Cannot wait for a MacBook with 1GB of RAM!
if this new se model costs 450
yes
please let the 12inch MacBook have its come back
It is cheap af, better be going with M2 Air or wait for the M4 Air.
I Use @home an M1 8g 256gb Imac is an good Worker for me, but if i go Outside an do Hamradio Stuff i Use still my old MacBook Air 11" with I5 4GB of Ram and 512GB of ssd. it still Works Great. If Apple will bring an MacBokk SE with M1 and 16g of Ram 12" and a 512G of SSD i think i will Buy it otherwise i use my Old stuff so long i can use it. But i Find no-one in Germany they will Upgrade my Old 11" to 8GB or Higher Ram.
My idea is to build a platic chassy instead of aluminum metal casing just like the mbp 2007 white one, with up to 24 GB ram and 512G SSD, but make the screen as big as the 14 in mbp. This will suit its name Special Edition.
I will never buy any Apple device again.. I will going to buy my next computer is Surface 7
Very good video. However, you have forgotten something. There is not only stronger competition with Chromebook, but also with Windows 10. Updates will end in 2025 and Windows 11 is horrible. So, a lot of people are thinking about switching to Apple.
It should be an m1. It doesn't really make any speed difference. Only 16gb matters.
still cant afford it
just lower the prioce of the macbook air 15" 16gb 512 at 1000usd bro
It's literally just an M1 macbook air at Walmart - there is no "new development" for a new cheaper MacBook
The thumbnail is seriously a bit of a stretch.
You can get a m1 macbook air for $650 on best buy 💀💀
Wow “it will be the same screen from 2015” thats confidence inspiring, knock knock who is there? Asus is here to tell you it sells OLED at this price.
knowing apple it is probably going to have 4gb of RAM and a 50GB mechanical drive for that price
Then no one will buy it
@@19910602011 believe me people will buy it just so they can say that have macbook
its gonna have M3
If im apple I would put a A17 inside
this makes so much more sense than m2 as the m2 airs already overheat and the a17 would be even better for battery life. it would also have the benefits of new features after the m2 including 3nm.
Remember the old "MacBook" the white ones ... those were there education laptops and this is what this will be IMO.... Apple just has to support the education system and work with the state governments for subsidies etc.
What kind of nonsense is this? MacBook Air M1 starts at $699.
sooo for 699$ you're going to get a glorified Chromebook
I just bought the Macbook 13inch 2015 💀

The M1 is 699
Yes but that is only at walmart what about the rest of the world
