Never Stop Chasing.
Great video, Reed and Brian. Love these bite-sized educational pieces.
Thank you for this! Last July, myself and my young family were caught in an EF2 QLCS Tornado that spun up very suddenly in our small suburb east of Cincinnati. I’ve always been a weather enthusiast and as we drove home I watched the squall line approach but because they weren’t supercell thunderstorms I didn’t think much of it. We had just left the grocery store about 2 miles from home and the Tornado touched down behind said grocery store about 4 minutes after we left, traveling in the same direction we were. We ended up trapped on a back road by fallen trees, and the Tornado crossed that same road about half a mile east of us. We were very fortunate.
One thing that struck me about that storm was the blinding rain; the thing was completely rain wrapped.
I couldn’t understand how that Tornado formed, and this video laid it out in an easy to understand, simple manner. Thank you!
Never Stop Informing, Reed. Awesome video. Thank You
I appreciate these short informative vids. You are the expert in my opinion. Getting tired of these other guys who think they are pros because they wrap there cars and put flashing lights on. Thanks Dr. Reed!
Reed, You need to more of these short educational breakdowns. A+
Continued health & safety Reed🤙
What a gorgeous shot to end your day! That fire pink squall line at the end was just amazing! Thank you Reed for all the hard work and informative enthusiasm you put into everything you do!
The professor is in!
Please no yelling in class.
Thanks for the lesson Dr. Timmer.
Awesome video Reed! I'm so passionate about storms!
Always on top Timmer!!!!!
Great video! Extremely concise and informative, and well produced too. Hoping for more of these as the Fall severe Wx season unfolds.

Great video Reed!
there were 2 high end F3 and one mid F3 tornado january 2007 in germany which all were produced in an QLCS system and had long paths too
lol thanks for pinning my comment didnt expect this im a big fan of your videos
Great info love to have more of these!!!
I am glad I know what a qlcs is 😁 I just call em straight line winds and they can be a pain in the farm LOL
Great work, thanks
Hopefully I’ll run into you this weekend chasing, Reed
I watched all of your tornado chaser’s videos
Reed thanks , I ve tried to get information on formation of non supercell tornadoes but it is limited and contradictive. Here in NC we get QLCS events that supposedly are responsible for 90% of tornadoes here and SC.
I remember a couple years ago on Christmas Eve you were in my area watching the system we had coming in from offshore and said small supercells embedded in would produce rotation if it occurred.
I remember well and knew that morning by looks and feel extreme weather was coming. I got 9 warning alerts that afternoon and evening fortunately no tornadoes.
I wish there were more regarding how tornadoes form in these weather events and if and how from multicell storms we get in warmer months.
Thanks.
Uauuu!!!!!
man this was a great video. I had been curious about them since it seems it's been the past 5 or so yrs that they have been getting a lot attention. really makes me wonder about historical tornado records and how accurate they are since it seems this phenomena is only recently being mentioned. are these the same as gustnados or are a new classification of tornados based on new evidence and research???
Reed, Severe weather outbreak issued on Friday, November 4th.
Hey Reed, love all your content!
Just out of curiosity I had a few questions.
How did the 2013 El Reno twister blow off the Dominator 2’s front hood? Cause from the video you uploaded, it looks as if the hood got caught on something. Did you get hit by a sudden sub vortex and the winds straight up ripped it off?
My second question is at what point do the Dominators or even the TIVs have to drop down to protect the underside from winds? Since in many videos I’ve seen yourself and the TIVs drive extremely close or even directly into some Tornados without deploying?
Anyhow I hope you have a wonderful day, and greetings from Canada!
Thanks
Hay reed you should get the gang back to gether and the dommters
What happens when squall lines get kinks? I have seen radar of some big tornadoes, and sometimes it looks like long lines of storms. But it gets local kinks and bends. And stronger rotating storms come up at the kinks.
The beats tho…
I folowed all car challenges and difficulties for storms...
Like the labels but these educational videos could really use some animated arrows to show the movements / termperatures etc
Is this A CURRENT Live VIDEO...from this morning 11/01/22??
