- In a much anticipated title fight last year at UFC 267, current UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira was able to overcome the challenge that is former champ Jan Blachowicz securing the second-round submission for the win and earning Performance of the Night honors. Teixeira is set to face Jiri Prochazka in his first title defense at UFC 275 on Saturday, June 11.

@@paulocostaswine.1909 looking now, at this fight, i think that blachowicz would crumble under jiri's pressure, i mean glover didnt even seem fazed by his attacks and Jiří is way way more quick on the feet and has chin to endure blachowicz's counters, i think that if they ever fight it will be jiri, second round by KO or TKO. Blachowicz just seems too slow.
It’s crazy to see Jan not knowing what to do with a basic neck crank.
Mark Coleman would do that in the 90s and early 2000s. Just release your full guard to alleviate pressure. And Coleman had absurd strength and grip.
Nobody should be getting that bothered by that.

U can see Blachowicz defense breaking in the 2nd Rd. His right hand was always lower to defend the TD which opened the left hook for Glover. Great stuff.

i can still picture jahn winning between these two with his striking and repelling glovers grappling advances on a few occasions, even reversing him up against the fence. and jahn seemed to easily keep his head off the ground when glover was on top indicating he may not have been waring down a whole lot, glover was resorting to bucking his back end up and matting jahn down more so. however, glover did catch him good with a strike and got jahn too close to the fence at the end just before his victory.
