I really think they've got something special. I can listen to 2 hours of indie radio and it all seems to blend into one long experimental tapestry of quiet, loud, weird cadences textural explorations and lyrics rife with strange overwrought metaphors.... When a Beach Bunny song comes on, it demands your attention.... There is an energy to it that locks you in. Its simple, just good song writing, good melodies arranged into good harmonies a nice quick tempo with some momentum and a bit of craftsmanship in the song structure with lyrics that tell a clear story. Plus Lili is absolutely adorable. Here's to hoping the new album blows up.

This is one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen from an artist. Lil’s voice is pure perfection oh myyyy-
The guitar motif in the first song carries a lot of its composition and really builds into it nicely. Their music makes me feel like writing Pop songs. Her face makes me happy with its emotions in all the performances, it feels authentic. The second song's vocal performance has such a powerful quiver in her voice, and the lyrical repitition makes sense in context.
The dual guitar works nicely in the third song. I relate to the lyrics, more than anything, though I can't quite understand why she feels that way, given how she looks.
The host's eyes are mesmerising and I like his method so much, especially with bothering to ask how the songs were composed; it makes a nice change to bland hosts who just ask how the tour was.
This is super refreshing, and I'm gonna binge their music now.

I guess it's all perspective how to interpret a song's lyrics, then. Sometimes meaning feels like it changes depending on the day, or the demons.

Fresh innocence and talent is a special combination. Most of us go through it and recover but it can be very painful. I really appreciate the way the host leads the discussion without overpowering it the way other hosts do on similar programs. The first song reminds me of Thieves by She and Him. Prom Queen reminds me of At Seventeen by Janis Ian a lifetime ago. I hope these two continue in their quest. God Bless.

Didn't expect to break down crying, I've had this song on repeat for the past weeks and cried to it before for the usual reasons, but 12:06 really broke me down. Lily saying "I've been starving myself", and Matt sitting next to her playing guitar looked very brotherly or perhaps reminded me of my own brother and how innocent they are and how much they care for their sisters and if only they knew what they were doing to their bodies because of the beauty standard. The siblings started out the same at birth, but society picked apart at the sister ("dissect my insecurities") since she was a literal child, and was introduced to diet culture in middle school while the brother may go through life never having a single thought about what he was eating or how he looks.
guys go through this shit too, and other stuff, but the beauty standard for women is just so violent and so reckless and unforgiving to little girls and eats away at their childhood and pushes out the normal things children should be thinking about instead of how many calories they ate that day

New fan, these guys are great and sound really good live. She sounds a bit like Haley Williams in her lower register here. Especially on Prom Queen, mostly on the “maybe I should try harder” and “I’m no quick-curl Barbie” lines. Good stuff.
