It's driving me nuts. I am probably having false memories as I was a kid in the early 80s. But I have a memory of a bus like this model where there was a waste height partition in the middle of the isle to allow people to get on and off the bus via the same door. I can't find any footage of images of this setup. Did this ever exist?
I'm also looking for footage of the old caps from the 80s where they'd press a button for the change and it would slide down a slide.
Again, being young I'm not sure if any of these memories are real or just false ones.

Further to add to that, yes, there was such a thing as OMO operation - though for some bizarre reason, London Transport's idea of one-man operation was to stick a turnstile in the middle of a 'DMS', as they were classified as, bus and expect that passengers pay their bus fare going through that. Clearly, and thankfully, that didn't catch on. London has the Oyster Card now, though, and that seems vaguely similar to that strange turnstile system.
For further information about the strange turnstile system, I invite you to search either 'DMS bus interior', 'DMS1' or 'EGP 1J'. Not a native Londoner at all, let alone a kid born in the days of the London DMS, but I'm very much interested in such a bus.

      Probably because it's a Leyland 0680.

DMS2341 with its Iveco engine, extra grill on the nearside rear, and much deeper sound to the original Leyland.

@@jamesfrench7299The Leylands were removed from some DMS Vehicles around ‘88 and replaced with an iveco unit. This was done to all the allocation at Sutton garage and South Croydon. I’m not sure if the program extended further than that - possibly Brixton & Stockwell. It definitely gave a performance gain in terms of acceleration. It also gave the units a distinctive final drive whine that could be clearly heard from a distance.
