      Make a long chain.
Lace the chain around the neck, going in and out a little below the sc row.
Make 2 pom-poms and tie it onto the edges of the chain tie. Trim the remaining tail to match the length of the pom pom strands.

Hi there, I bought two skeins of Caron Cake yarn several months ago but it is not a Category #4 yarn it is a thicker Category #5 yarn considered a chunky yarn. In your pattern instructions a #4 yarn is what is suggested to use to make the Poncho with an I hook or 5.5 hook. Since I already have two #5 skeins of Caron yarn should I go up a size on the hook and use a J hook or should just use an I (5.5) hook like stated in your instructions?
