I love watching your sharpening stone episodes , if it wasn't for your show my knives wouldn't be as sharp as they are now , thanks for showing us how to do it the right way and thanks for taking the time to do all this again and again. keep up the awesome work you do kyle !!
Kyle, thanks for all of your sharpening videos…I’ve actually broke out the stones and have made hair popping edges on many of them. Only problem I have now is I need to sell my wicked edge sharpening system. Lol. Thanks again bro. Absolutely love hand sharpening and you’ve made it much better for me. Cheers buddy👍👍
When you first pulled that skinning knife out of it's sheath, the shape of the blade reminded me of a shark's fin. I'm not very skilled at coming up with clever names, so I'll leave that up to someone better. Anyway, thanks for the video Kyle, much appreciated.
I use a lot of lapping film and diamond paste on balsa wood strops. Very cost efficient. The secret is to work on a cheap but flat & smooth hard marble. Wet it down. Put a piece of wet copy paper down. Then the wet film on top of that. It won't go anywhere.
Hi Kyle bit of a long talk sorry if I bore you but, I am in England although I have lived in B C Canada , I watch all your vids and thankyou for your knowledge. I got the nanawa 3000 pro and like you say i find endless metal pieces left on it that any blade skips or rolls on, I will get the nagura 600 to cure that. In the UK I can access the kuramaku which is 320 grit and am thinking of a shapton glass set of 3 , 1000 , 3000, and 8000 which costs £164 here should keep me happy. I love your videos and aspire to sharpen half as good as you, dont think it will happen but I am getting better thanks again for your tutorials
Beautiful video, Kyle! Regarding the Shapton Kuromaku blue/black, you mentioned that it was a “340” grit. Did you mean “320” grit? The reason I ask is that it seems the only one available online are “320” grit. Thank you!
good tips. minimal steps, with good results. I am curious if you have tried and care to comment on the S KUROMAKU #320 vs S Glass 500, and similarly the S Glass 1000 vs the S KUROMAKU #1000 or the Nanawa Pro Chosera 1000 (or 800) in your one/two stone process. I have a S Glass 4000 now (and some old DMTs) and am looking to buy on the most important stone(s) in my lineup.
Based on how much you like that delica, you should take a look at the spyderco chaparral, great knife even slicier also flat grind, also from the taiwan factory, which where all the BEST spyderco kmives come from, it is 95 dollars USD, it has CTS-XHP steel too, great knife Kyle, take a look at it
Have you tried a Missarka Stone? Can get both a 500 and 1000 grit for the price of one of those Japanese Stones. Then one of those Artificial Ruby Stones they sell on Ebay for a 3000 grit. Finish on a Slovakian Rozutec Stone.
@@kyle_noseworthy cheap euro brand. The stones are made from ground up arkansas stones. They create a interesting edge. I wish they used a better binder. They are ok stones. For the price they are great. Quick Soak and go to work.
I was just wondering if you have ever used the spyderco ceramic stones and if you have what did you think of them? Great videos by the way keep up the awesome work 👍
Kyle have you ever seen VirtueVice the Japanese gentlemans channel here on YT? He's and avid Bark River and scandi enthusiast. Guy literally works the edges with his fingertips against the stone and it looks like he's bleeding in one video, surfaced his fingertips! But man you talk about STOOPID sharp!😂
Mate love your work...but those are some of the lowest sabre grinds I have seen...almost bordering on a scandi grind I would say...any reason you favour such a low grind?
I think you might not realize that women watch your channel too. You keep saying "You guys". Try just saying "You" instead. I do love your videos aside from being called a guy. 😁😇

Thanks so much James! I'm glad I could help!

I’ve had my Shapton Glass-backed Ceramic stones for more than 10 years. I use them for knives, chisels, plane irons, and more.
You cant beat using a strop. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks Pat! A strop is such an effective tool when used properly!

Sharkfin is actually a great name
Good video. I have been collecting knives for almost 50 years, I still say you can’t beat a Spydie Delica or Endura full flat ground VG-10 knives.
I haven't handled the Endura yet, but I'll bet its great!! I want a dragonfly, but they're pretty expensive for the size of knife.
So encouraging. Thanks for the coaching.
Awesome, thanks for your knowledge!

Nice and simple! I like it!
Loved this video, thanks!
I like the DMT line. The two I mainly use is the blue and the green.
I’m for sure late to the show lol. But man, you make beautiful knives my guy👌
Thanks!!
Thanks Kyle, beautiful work on those knives
Glad you like them!
Wow! I’m hooked 🤩💪🏻👌🏻

You'll LOVE the nagura, my friend. It's a game changer. Keep practicing! You'll be better than me in no time!
Hey Kyle the skinner would be a perfect name for that knife.. thanks for sharing 👍
I'll think about it, Daniel! Thanks buddy!

Great skills brother. I just purchased Spyderco Delica Wharncliffe with k390 steel what stones would you recommend for sharpening or just touching up
Looks like a “Hedgehog Skinner” to me!
How about...." The Traveler "
Call it the dino skinner
Continue the sharpening series please 😅
Which one?! The search for the ultimate whetstone? Or this one here, sharpening the EDC blades?
@@kyle_noseworthy Yeah, the search for the ultimate whetstone, I really enjoy watching it.

Not familiar with Missarka!

Good information, Sir!
May I ask, what is the magnification device you are using here?
Do you like benchmade 940?
Yes! Great knife
I was just wondering if you have ever used the spyderco ceramic stones and if you have what did you think of them? Great videos by the way keep up the awesome work 👍
Island Skinner?...Island Hunter?
The Caribou?
The Meelpaeg?...The Beothuck?
The Upcountry?
The Woodland? [as in caribou]
Nice work there Kyle!
Nice suggestions brother! Ill consider!! Thanks!
What strop are you using?

Glad you like my work, Wade. As for the grinds, I don't believe they're abnormally shallow, given the thickness of the steel. Pretty standard.
how did you called this cleaning stone?nigara?
Naniwa A-206 Nagura Dressing Stone, 600 Grit.
www.maggardrazors.com/product/naniwa-a-206-nagura-dressing-stone-600-grit/
What about naming it the “saber tooth”?
Newfie Deba
Call it Mr Stumpy... or Stub
Paul's needs to hook you up man. Just sayin'. :)
Haha Paul's has taken care of me!
I didnt like it. Sold mine. I got a suehiro cerax 320. I like it better

The phrase you guys isnt gender specific, but i am sorry you feel that way. “You guys” is used to refer to or address two or more people.
