Hey guys, I havent seen any video on rooting this tab right now, hence i just did it on my own,.
So pls spare with me, as im not well versed in english.
Disclaimer:-
1)I hv already rooted this tab, hence i cant do all the steps.again so i just shown steps without connecting device.
2)Rooting voids your warranty and formats your data/internal storage
3)Im not responsible for any mistakes by your side, but ill guide you as far as possible to root and recover if anything happens.

Instructions from xda site
Install fastboot and adb on your PC, e.g. from here
Enable developer options and in there select to unlock your bootloader by enabling OEM unlock and enable USB debugging
Connect your PC to your tablet and run
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
using adb on command line. The tablet will reboot into bootloader mode where you will only see the Lenovo logo. Now you use
Code:
fastboot oem unlock-go
to unlock. This will factory reset your device
Setup the tablet again and reboot again to the bootloader
Then run
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1-0-.img
to temporarily boot into TWRP. You can also flash
by using the steps on this video

For ex, fastboot flash recovery E:/lenovo root/twrp.img
if you are sure
*Select to keep system read only* when TWRP starts to avoid modification which will make OTAs impossible
Backup at least system and boot partitions. Choose "System Image" for the system partition backup. Keep this backup for OTA updates.
Optionally flash SuperSU or Magisk in TWRP which should install system less. Keep OEM unlock enabled if you flash or modify anything

It will work in Tab 4 8 plus.. But Mine is called TB 8704X and not 8704N.. Im unaware of your version.. Still it will work..

Here are some tips for our devices.
To be able to write to system partition (device freezing when using Adaway, and some otherapps) you have to remount system partition as RW.
I have made a magisk module for this task. If you have magisk installed just flash the attached zip in twrp. No more freezes with rooted apps.
If you are using an sd card you might have noticed, that log files are being created constantly in sdcard/logs folder. After few days it can grow up to couple of gigs. To disable that you have edit your build.prop

Save and reboot.
Get rid of bluetooth logs btsnoop_hci.log being written to your internal drive:

i'm stuck at the "Waiting for any device" part. What do I do?
Jade Baboy if using windows 7,8 disable driver signature enforcement and reinstall drivers and try again, if using windows 10 boot into test mode and reinstall drivers and try again, it will solve the problem, if still problem persists, try in different pc or different cable.
I am in the same situation, could you pls share your solution?
it just stuck at waiting for any device. (the device is on the fastboot screen) everything works till 1:57 in the video all i can do is power button + volume up to get out of fastboot.

Silviu11 Racer sorry for late reply sir, Type the fastboot code correctly as it causes the said error when twrp.img gets flashed to wrong partition like boot partition..
I assume if u place twrp.img in d:/ drive, type" fastboot flash recovery D:/twrp.img" if u want to flash it permanently, or else type " fastboot boot D:/twrp.img " if u want to boot it temporarily..

Not at all!! Sadly Custom roms cannot be ported as Most of the sd625 devices are under 5.5 inch mark.. and there is no alternative to this tablet with similar specs to port a rom.. there was one deodexed rom of Nougat version though in Xda..
I know its a lot of efforts to build custom ROM. But I was surprised to see asolutely no ROM for this tab. Is issue u mention the only reason for this? Basically I am just too sad...W
@@Mahesha999 the only issue being the screensize and dpi other wise Redmi rom can be ported.. will be pretty much buggy if ever ported

If it is shown as unauthorized
First Disconnect USB between PC and device.
Then, Stop adb server by entering
adb kill-server
in command window.
On tab, go to settings/ developer option / click Revoke USB debugging authorizations,
Then disable and enable usb debugging option..
On PC , search adbkey, it will show the file in .android folder somewhere..
delete adbkey file inside .android folder..
Then connect the device to the PC.
Now a pop up will appear once u type adb devices on adb.
Check the box on the popup on the tab..
Now device will be authorised..

If it says waiting for devices,
You have to reinstall adb drivers…
But I can’t get your issue,
After first step, when connected, the Tab will ask, whether to trust the device, and after ticking the check box, The adb should work fine,,
If there’s issue with driver, how come you solved the first issue? 🤔

On PC side,
1 - Boot your pc in test mode, install driver again.
2 - Connect the phone and Type ,” ADB Devices “
Now it should connect, if not try again with another cable..
Our tab is the easiest device with which i worked on adb.. so there wont be any big issues in connceting..
can you make a video on how to unroot this kind of tablet? I heard there 's an upgrade on it on November, I'm not sure if my unrooting process was done corectly. probably I will see it for my self if I done it correctly, if the November upgrade will brick my tablet or not...
Sir i tried to unroot it and everytime the phone doesnt boots, so i made backup of data using twrp and then flashed stock rom ( it deletes all data) and then recovered data using twrp and then again flashed stock recovery, this is the only way to unroot asfar as i know.. If u tried to unroot it will nver boot, this is a common issue faced by majority users

Safe bet is to flash stock rom and then installing OTA packages one after another once the Nov Oreo update is out.. I tried to unroot and succeeded only 1 time out of 7 times ,
And for that one time i uninstalled root from within magisk manager, booted into twrp deleted magisk folder and img files in data partition,
Flashed stock boot and recovery imgs, then wiped cache and dalvic caches, it booted after 10 minutes, but cant guarentee..

辛晴彦 in recovery unmount system, and reboot again, if still it won't boot, then clear cache and dalvik cache and try rebooting, it may take some 10 minutes. If still it is not booting there is a possibility that you havent unlocked bootloader properly.

I assume Magisk works on this device (as seen in your app list on 8:21); why on earth would you even mention the most outdated (even then) SuperSU? One more tip: stop using Lucky Patcher; it's just not cool to do so.
It's a shame that you didn't record your original steps (the actual flashing!), the recording you published has little educational value and nothing can be confirmed.
Timmy M I havent recorded as it will erase all my data again. And Magisk support came much later after super su, and again, if you use any root apps that changes system partition without magisk remount module, your phone will freeze.. Thats y i used super su, and then after availability of magisk i installed magisk, and further after making this video i came to know abt magisk remount module. And for Lucky patcher im using it just to disable ads, as i found it comfortable to remove ad banners..
