I loved the scene when he had taken the Ludes and he was at home. He puts on the song "A Fifth of Beethoven", a disco version of Beethoven's 5th. He asks his bird Petie if it's a good beat. Then he immediately says to himself "I don't like this song. It makes me sad. It's no time for music."
The best scene from George Clooney's THE TENDER BAR borrows from this bit. The deadbeat dad takes the kid around the block and drops him back off. One shot, same camera angle.
