My kids will grow up in a gulch/drain household and hear stories of my days in the gulch pits
That'll put them to sleep for sure.
@@greghauser742you ain’t getting bitches dog
PLEASE I need hands of god back 😞
Definitely one of the best hardcore bands in history 💯Thx for the interview guys.
Damn Bo got down when he called him a old man. BO WE ARE ALL OLD. YOU LOOK GREAT AND ARE DOING GREAT! Don’t let nothing get you down, you’re frickin great
Gulch honestly revitalizd an uninspired and cookie cutter hardcore scene. Biggest regret is never seeing them. RIP.
They sounded like every other cookie cutter band, what are you talking about?
@@greghauser742 Ohhh brother ☠☠ Get onnn
@@greghauser742give me some names cause I've yet to find a band similar to Gulch. Or are you just being a weenie
Agree totally dude. When I see the videos online with the intensity and presence it reminds me of the hardcore shows I went to as a kid. Also sad I missed them.
🎯. Dude I feel you. Missed 4 of their shows .. and I was like nahh.. I can't miss the s&f set. Glad I caught it. Broken bones. Black eyes. Bloody noses and face. Fainting. Straight brutal chaos. What I expected and more. Badass
GULCH are one of my favourite bands. What a legend! 👊🏻🤘🏻
He's and incredible frontman really, i love his stage presence
2:40 Damn he totally thought you were calling Gulch the greatest american hardcore band of all time.
For reals lol
Not wrong tho
@@BlackeSportsAustraliaCS Very wrong.
@@greghauser742 Look at what all the members are doing, and what gulch inspired - naive to not recognise their mark
@@BlackeSportsAustraliaCS But they're far from the greatest of all time.
Gulch are amazing! Waited months to get they're records shipped to Sweden
Holy fuck, I've been obsessed with True Hearted since I first got into hardcore, I had no idea their vocalist and guitarist was in gulch, but now that I listen to them again I can hear it for sure.
Guy is an absolute legend
Been waiting on this one
I remember Elliot from Spinebreaker cool to see his success he's had with Gulch
Bo dropping El Rancho 😂😂😂 throwback to my children my bride. hella funny that sax was bringing everyone there 😂😂😂😂
That lame metalcore band?
LEGEND.
not being able to make it to stage during their last set will remain one of my biggest regrets forever
We need hands of god back BAD
BRING HANDS OF GOD BACK!!! CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!
Rancho?!? I think I ate there when I went to UCSC in the late 90's haha. It all comes back to burritos.
I saw him drumming with slugger. Slugger is fucking sick
from the bay and moved to boise, i love ingrown. s/o elliot for the ingrown s/o. real ones know ingrown is the absolute shit and has sooo much to come man
Is there a scene in boise
@@cinnamoncigarettes a small scene, Shout out to bands like Barn and Texas Ketamine for ripping it here
@@leansupreme5320 oh shit Texas ketamine is from there didn’t know that
@@cinnamoncigarettes absolutely is one. witness chamber is another one to look out for to
I lived in Boise for my middle school, freshman sophomore years. My first show I went to I was 14 years old at a place called the venue. There was a huge scene. I used to see Charlie from Ingrown at shows way back then. Idk what it’s like now but I remember shows being insane.
that spot elliot is talking about atl ike 6 minutes, is he talking about rec center in LA?
5:35 “it all comes back to burritos”. I think Sam of Triple B said this, but I follow for their love of food as much as hardcore haha
He did. Just heard it recently lol
🐐
6:23 The rec center!
i love hardcore
Please bring back the HOG
5:42
The masa and lard if you will
what bands are the hosts from?
What other bands was/is Elliot in?
I believe he's only in Spinebreaker and Slugger atm
@@mateogarcia7695 yeah I was reminded of spinebreaker while watching this
Listening to all there stuff rn
Gotta check out the other band
Thanks :)
He was in a band called True Hearted and a band called Subtle Violence that have music you can find. He did a black metal thing that played one show called Grootslang too.
Pretty sure he plays guitar in Basilica Ruin too
if ug don’t know, he plays guitar in spinebreaker so that’s what he’ll b doing
Oh shit, OKAY
6:07 he talkin about the rec? lol
Elliot is the drummer for a band out of my town in NorCal called Slugger. My band mate is pretty tight with them. My band played with them and may play with Drain, as the bassist of Slugger was the bassist for Drain for the first 3 years of Drain being around and is still tight with his former bandmate hehe. Maybe ill get to play with drain lol
At 6:30 he’s talking about the Rec center 😂
rec center was the venue he was thinking of at 6:00
He talking about groundzero show
l've yet to see a proper explanation why they broke up? Pursuing non-hardcore careers, other bands, what is next? How do you do an entire interview without bringing it up even?
Gulch 's guitarist, Cole Kakimoto gave an explanation behind why the band decided to call it quits; czcams.com/video/vxFGF6RQ9d0/video.htmlsi=gwrPs_VxawUwJTmD
I've been into extreme metal for about 20 years but I don't think I truly loved a hardcore band until I found Gulch. I can't listen to "Sin in My Heart" without getting genuinely upset. 10/10
That's a little dramatic...
Why did Gulch break up?
Wondering also. Seems like people are just too cool to talk about it or something. But it's important to bring up, in an interview, that "it's supercool that you're quitting at your peak" while not asking any questions about it.
@@HalfdanMCMX It's not important at all.
protect these 3
Cilantro is the shit.
It was such a shame to see the plug get pulled on them at the show for some absurd curfew reasons. Hardcore and its various subgenres have always had bands that are here for a very short time before moving onto something else. They put on a great set and it was amazing to see them performing in front of so many people.
🫡
El Rancho is the goat
i think ive seen u there before
@@masonklink I’ll bet you say that to all the Mexican boys
love his neo-nazi romper aesthetic
yes tucking in your shirt and shining your shoes are definitely 'neo nazi' aesthetic
Found the genre tourist
I missed gulch but I WILL see sunami and drain💪🫡
I missed out on sunami but def seeing drain
never saw this dude at a hardcore show in SJ. ever.
he deadass looked like a lanky toothpick with justin beiber hair back on the those days. Trust me he was there
What ? Did you never hear of true hearted? He played in that band back in the day I always saw him at show
@@rasmusgarbonzo1411 I love this. I want a photo so bad.
@@lohuune9627 no cause that band wasnt around in the early to mid 2000's when hardcore was real, not transgender.
@@rasmusgarbonzo1411 He still looks like that.
