    Absolutely perfect bunkhouse layout. At the top of my list! Finally a practical living & kitchen space. Yes, I think I would opt for 1 side full pantry and enough counter space for the coffee maker. There is plenty of room on the island for prepping on the right. And why didn't they think of a sliding barn door in the master on wardrobe instead of doors you can't fully access. My only other critique is I wish it came in a farmhouse/beach style with lighter tones.

    Love the layout. I am not so concerned about the lack of a pantry because I love counter space. I do wish that the master bedroom was larger, since we are the ones paying for the unit😄, but I love the bunk house area. Seems like they hit it out of the park for the kid's or guest area and bathroom, whereas the owner got a little short changed.

    I"m thinking this is the best layout I've seen. It feels like a small apartment. I think they've done a good job with the compromises. I like the split pantry / counter arrangement.

  • @GsrMePlease
    @GsrMePlease Před 4 lety +14

    They should extend the island to connect to the other counter to make a “U-shape” with a single entry. Then put the pantry in the spot you first mentioned. Also, they should have made the doors to the washer and dryer area, bi-fold to the right so they didn’t hit the bed.

    I love the 2nd full bath, especially when getting a half bath is so rare.
    A different style of door can fix the washer/dryer access and would definitely be a must-do install for most people, even though it'll kill a lot of the noise reduction.
    .
    Despite being a bit cramped in the sleeping spaces and bathrooms a bit, I think I really like this one. There really isn't much I'd change and none if it really has much to do with the floor plan, but rather catering things to my very specific wants.

    My complaint of most bunk house (and the majority of rvs in general) is the main windows are on the WRONG SIDE of the rig. Your main windows are facing your neighbor. And there are tiny windows facing your own campsite.

    • @jdice6868
      @jdice6868 Před 4 lety

      I agree. The major issue they can't fix is the love seat would be too close to the tv or right in front of the door if you move the stairs and flip upstairs around. The windows issue is the biggest downer for these kinds of floor plans.

    Now this is an outstanding floor plan for a family with some kids. Best isolated bunkhouse I've seen with a full bath and exterior door access to it. Great outdoor kitchen, but yes, needs some closeable storage like a drawer. North/south beds in a front bedroom always seem tight without at least a wardrobe slide. Bi-fold doors could ease the laundry access. Love the tall coffee station area where you could actually use a Keurig. Door side kitchens limit visibility of your own campsite; the loveseat's best TV viewing seat forces one to lean way forward to talk to someone on the theater seating; halve the long coffee station and add a full height pantry. There has yet to be the perfect family style RV, but this one is close.

    I'd go with a half bath in the back an more laundry room area there than up front. I would want like a flip up counter top by the island to to put barstools at barstools that would fold an store within that area. Make the table more of a booth to fold down into a bed as well. A ceiling mounted tv in the back that could be locked in place. That would be my ideal floor plan for full timing in this particular model.

    Would DEFINITELY "sacrifice" half of that "pantry/counter" for "FULL-PANTRY w/ 1/2 counter (coffee station?)! Don't know the dimensions, but, think it would be a better use of the space -- include sufficient elec outlets (maybe, "charge station" set-up, too?). Otherwise, I think, you're right -- a GREAT floorplan, if you're looking for something this large!

    The living room tv could be put on a swing a way carrier like the spare tire on the back of a bronco, so the vast space behind the tv could be cabinets for a pantry. The full rear bath could be reduced to a half bath or stand up shower and put the washer dryer in the second bath area. That would make the master bath huge and make the W/D area easily accessible.

And I agree, the outside kitchen needs a drawer, dont know what's behind those cut outs under the counter top but Im sure they could have squeezed something in there. That's a very well designed bunkhouse with consideration for all the things you need in a mobile-home/RV. Personally, I like the way the pantry area is laid out as-is. You always need some spot to put the coffee pot, blender or food processor and with this design you could leave them out on the counter at a campsite. I never liked it when we had to pull something out of storage, use it and after it's cleaned you had to put it back in storage because there wasn't space to leave it out. If you didn't have that extra counter space the coffee pot would have to sit on the island which takes away from prep or food serving space or dish drying area. Yes you do lose pantry space, but you gain usable space for small daily-used appliances. I would also rather have a much smaller outdoor kitchen (OK) and have more internal storage. You can always easily setup up a portable table for extra prep space and still have the necessary electrical connections with a smaller OK space.

  • @ZangLussuria

    I'd take out the love seat and put in more closet space. I'd put the washer & dryer there. Then a coatroom, shoe rack & valet since it's near the main entry door. Very viable for full time living if it had that. I wouldn't want to watch tv from the love seat anyway.
    The theater style seats can be the 3 seater jackknife with raising footrest style. Still gives long watching comfort and could also still be a guest bed.
    I don't mind the smaller main bathroom since this will mostly be used for the masters and there's another full bath. Moving the washer/dryer to the living room gives me more closet space for the master.
