I love that you focus on beginner moves. I have bad knees and these videos have been super helpful.
I'm hoping he will cover ankle issues too. Miy left ankle bends out and I can't make it bend to the inside either! Any tips to help fix this would be great!👍😎
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are The Best At Home Trainer since The Great Jack LaLanne.
Or maybe... just walk? Walking is the best thing you could do to start getting fit as a beginner, and just as is the case with running/jogging, walking does require proper form.
Walking is good for dead beginners if you’re starting from minus - 10 fitness level like I did few years back.
Ok but the oldies I know (I'm 72) have a very wrong idea of what walking means, they think that a nice leisurely stroll is walking. You have to make it clear that if it's not getting their heart rate up they are wasting their time
So, then it presents the same issue that jogging does. You just reinforced the point of the video.

But I was challenged to run, and I was not capable of running around the block.
Did this the last few times I exercised because I didn’t have access to the track. It was great to see him teach something I had tried on my own. He added some moves I will use now.
Exactly, that's how I get in shape instead of jogging. First learn this from a Japanese shotokan sensei who was demonstrating focusing on power from the hips, using Western style sitting furniture...🤣😅
How long should I do this exercise for? How many reps and sets?
LEO Y Yazmin.❤❤
@@aikibudo-guyooh is that guy on YT? Do you remember his channel name please?
@@ygnightkid6529 I reckon as many as you can for a certain amount of time, like 30 seconds, 1 minute. maybe start with 5 sets and work your level as high as you feel comfortable without strain.
I'm subscribing to this channel because he shared something I've never seen before. The fact that I don't have to jog, I can do squats at home using my couch, is really very helpful!
Now you can tell people you were exercising while sitting on the couch! 😆
🤣
I so needed this video being that I have a bad knee 🙌🏼.
Omg I just 10 of these and heart rate is up!!! I don't wana run because I'm too heavy for my joints. Gona try this everyday for a week. Thanks man!!!
This grandma is checking in on you and your progress. 😊
Teaching how to move and do these exercises is so important - Thank you!
Just what I need! My new job requires lots of travel, and the weather doesn't always allow for walking/jogging outside. Thus is perfect for indoors. Thank you!
My knees are done so this exercise is brilliant, thank you so much.
Mines too 😂…but I do this on a 3/4 inch thick yoga mat and my knees are safe
I have a jogging knee. I - rebuilt - it with Glucosamine chondroitin MSM with HA. Quite a few globally have done same. Doc wanted to put a new this that and the other with screws and all and I said ok let me think about alllll that.
Walk backwards up a hill and you'll get strength back
There's a running club in a secondary school just down from me, so they frequently run past my window. The number of people I see that can't run properly astounds me. They even have coaches with them. I just look at them, heal striking, thinking to myself in six months, you'll be in agony. Great video.
For a 72 year old widow who has become way too sedentary, this would be an awesome start back into some low key exercise. Thank you!!
Search for "Zach Bush 4 Minute Workout"
That's great! Another thing to try out might be resistance bands. You can do all sorts of excercises seated, standing, or laying down.
Resistance bands are also nice because they can be tossed in a drawer when not in use, to avoid the clutter of "workout equipment".
Good job acting on the inspiration to get moving! You will thank youself in the long run!
Jan 6 2024 I do your workouts Coach T, the sit to stands have changed the strength in my legs so much. I know staying committed it's going to get better and better. Thank you so much
I have read that 3 sets of 10, 5 days a week is a good start. Then, add a ball between your knees or use hand weights to add resistance. It’s a good toning exercise and can get your heart rate up too.
It’s SUCH a big misconception that running equals “health”, you can do a bazillion other things without the repetitive movements and compression in joints that you get with running.
If you love running, then be prepared to deal with the excess wear and tear in joints over time. (In my opinion)
Perfect
Back to the basics
Whatever you decide yo do, do it right.
This is especially helpful after being sedentary for a long time. I do want to get better at jogging and running and walking up stairs just because those are functional exercises as a pedestrian in the city (and running to catch the bus without getting too winded).
Thank you! I appreciate how you explain and demonstrate how to exercise correctly. You are Awesome!
Absolutely LOVE how you explain everything and focus a lot on what not to do as well. Thanks! ❤❤
Thanku, appreciate this! Your tips & demos are great - so clear, authentic & encouraging 😀👌
Thank you for your teachings!! It’s amazing, because I have knees problems. Blessings to you and your program. Great teachings from you. 💐🇺🇸🙌🇨🇴💝
Great tips.
Ever since I slipped on ice and hurt my ankle I can't run the same.
Thank you.
Thank you. I've found that my weakness and strains are because of weak glutes. You mention glutes in passing but I'm focusing on that right now. As I go up and down I find tightening my glutes makes it so much easier and takes the stress off my lower back & knees. I do a lot of gardening, landscaping (constantly stooping, squatting and bending) and constantly in pain. This encourages me :)
I feel like the secret to life is getting good at clamshells :). It’s a killer move but so good for strengthening hips and glutes.
@@annt7384 clamshells? Never heard of it
I've always loved jump squats. It's a good combination of a great functional movement with bigger muscles and doesn't need much speed to get a good workout from it. However, with minor adjustments, you can increase the cardio aspect of it, as needed. Great alternative for a rainy day or any day you choose to stay indoors and still want a good cardio workout. I may have to do some today. 😊 Also, don't underestimate the power of dance. Put some good music on, lock your doors, and move your body. Movements don't have to be fast, necessarily, but consistent. Have fun. Get fit! 💪😁👍
You are a blessing to so many. Thank you!
Omg great demonstration.. I’ve been doing it wrong. No pressure on the knees
Ooh!! I love this! I like the way I feel, awesome. Thank you Coach!
Great advice to get a coach to teach good form! Even if you are already running, check with a coach to make sure your form is good!
Brilliant. I have been doing this with my PT.
Thank you so much. You are so helpful!
I like skipping (with an imaginary rope or those ropeless handles) or shadow boxing in my front room...just freestyle jumping, stepping, ice skaters, jumping jacks, running on spot ..whatever you feel like! Do this for counts of 100-500 or timed for 3-5 minute intervals. Vary the intensity. It's fun, convenient and gets results
I am 50 female, can I do skipping 😮
In 2020 I was diagnosed with GBS ( Guillain-Barré syndrome). I was unable to walk for 7 months. One of the exercises that my physical therapist had me do was sit to stand. Best thing I ever did to get the strength back into my legs!
You are just such a lovely guy, always helping out in the most motivational way! Thank's alot😍😍🏃♀️🏃♀️
Awesome!!! Thank you SO much! Only time I have to go walking really, is at night when kids are asleep 😅totally going to try these!!

Like this one. Nice easy and I can do it almost everywhere, at any time
I been "learning" how to jog since I was able to walk. So i got a good number of years experience, thanks....
Thank you!!
Not going to say I'm old, but I work my Wii fit everyday. LOL There happens to be a 'chair pose' yoga segment I do every day. I'm going to start this move into my aerobics rotation. I'm subscribing here. I feel pretty okay but I want to feel amazing. LOL
Dude….eye stumbled on this page…and immediately Subscribed!!! Nice
Very good... practical and well explained. Top job!
Lovely, thanks for sharing n kpng us away to stress on for hurting our body
Never tried it and I don't intend too
But will tell you the secret I developed on my own when the Dr told me when he removed my cartilages age 21,
He told me at age 40 i would need knee replacements, but i'm 80 now and still jogging,
The secret is simple
With a slight lean forward, as you jog,
learn to place your foot directly IN front of you or even cross your foot to the other side when jogging, as this will help you when you place your foot down
Always land on the smallest bones in your foot first and roll to the heavier bones after the small ones touch down.
What happens when a tree falls,
the small branches hit first so the trunk does not break up
same game and try not to let your heal hit the ground if possible.
Thankyou for showing us.
Sir, Luvu you are so much different n amazing sir,, luv to see your video God blessed 💞❤️❤️

And I'm love your exercises
Thanks dear👍👍👍👍
Mastering the beginner stuff actually makes an expert!
This is wonderful. I love to exercise. And need to get in shape. For health reasons, & to perform better.
Thank you ❤❤❤
When I was younger I jogged, thinking it was a good way to stay fit.
Now, I believe all that jogging is the reason my knees & back are shot.
Going to try your exercise cause it’s always such effort for me to get standing. 2:44
It can be i ran track for years. Plus in my 20’s when i worked as a nurse & my children were smaller i ran on the treadmill at the gym. Never was overweight ended up with arthritis in my knee they said from running on uneven surfaces as a kid & teen cause i ran outside. Now im overweight trying to get back on track because my back is bad too i miss running i want to do it again as crazy as it sounds.
All the studies don’t not support your feelings. Apparently jogging is great for your joint health. Most people have genetic and other issues at play with regard to arthritic joints.
Take it easy on yourself. Your not a spring chicken anymore. Give your bones credit where credit is due. Be easy on your bones and joints. And things will get better for you.
I have been running for about 45 years..... no knee or back problems. Exercise is the way to strengthen the body. Many have thought that I would ruin my knees -- they were all wrong.
@@keithsummers1889 i never said exercise was bad or did not strengthen the body. I said i got it from running on uneven surfaces because the areas i ran through were crazy rough. Apparently that was not a good thing to do when being very young. If i had ran in a better environment i would be good. But I didn’t know but oh well i found other low impact exercises i do until im able to get stronger.
I jog to get fresh air and change my surroundings, as much as anything else. also mixing it in with press ups and squats ever 30 metres or so is the best all round fitness training I know.
No O2 - aerobics here. My decades of running has not
hurt me in any way. I do this sit exercise by wall.
Exactly
You can get those same things with briskly walking and that time stress your knee is at all. I must have fresh air and nature every day. Walking affords me to do that lifelong.
Thanks for the video man, I appreciate it, I should have watched this before I got knee injury due to jogging 😐
Excellent so much better then running❤
So happy to learn this....I never jog 💜💜💜💜
Good advice, thanks👍
You're the best. IMHO.
Excellent!!!
Great tips. Love the aerobic hit.
Awesome thank you
Thank you, I will try that.
I wish to have a brother like you..... ❤❤❤ from India
I enjoyed your video so I tapped on your channel and proceeded to the channel description. There were some errors in the first paragraph, but otherwise a rather welcoming write up. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm.
I love this guy
For a person who can not afford a running coach as of the moment, just find a running group and ask your colleague about your form if it is correct and start running. It will make your life 10 times better than any exercise.
Thank you
You have been most helpful for my health. I am trying all your stretches and exercises and have to say what a difference. Thank you mate 🙏
Thank you very much also from my knees :),greetings Mirabella from The Netherlands
thank you !
I like this coach's idea of "alternative to jogging"
Ty for info and having a short video
Great advice!
Great exercise! Thanks.

I rolled my ankle over a tree root and have only just started walking on it again over 6 weeks later..it taught me a big lesson to take care of your bones
