Crossfade is a very underrated band. This song brings me back to the early 2000's in my 20's.
I was there. Miss them times a lil
@@HallebaileyAriel1official Was a great time for Rock man. I was in my 20s too :)
Crossfade is huge. Can't possibly be under rated given their popularity
there definitely were underrated.
@@WheresWaldo05 Crossfade is not huge when compared to other bands back then. They blew up briefly and then sputtered out. Which is unfortunate.
Thank you for checking out the song :)
I will say that, âthe liesâ, refers not to any sort of infidelity but to the darkness I felt at that time that I could not express otherwise and may have made it a little harder to understand or deal with someone like me then. When you canât quite put your finger on what your own demons are itâs hard, in the moment, to tell someone else what those things are.
And sometimes you just need to say Iâm sorry for not letting you in.
Anyway - Love what you both are doing and you seem amazing!
All the best-Ed.
You wrote the soundtrack to my teenage angst years. Appreciate that man. Big fan
Ur music made me feel a lot better when I was going through super rough times as a child, ty so much! đđ„șâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžđ»đ»đ»
Ed, this is one of my favorite songs, and that vocal bit at the end really gets me in the feels. Good shit man, thanks for putting your feelings out there.
This and then So Far Away are definitely what I grew up on. Your debut album? I still listen to it almost every day. Thanks, Ed.
Thank you Ed, for your words and your efforts that brought your music to us. This song screamed to me and helped me fight an addiction that I didn't understand and wouldn't shake for almost 20 years.
Yesss. Now do Colors by them. Itâs great
Yeah my favorite from them
Yes
Yes colors my favorite
"Killing Me Inside" is another good Crossfade song. The riff is nasty too. Man, I miss this time in music, before it all went to crap.
Please do Colors by Crossfade. My personal favorite
Mine too!
SO good.
Iâve requested that one as well. Itâs an awesome song
This was a great album! Every song was fantastic, give it a try.
This song right here is a southern classic. Reminds me of fields, backroads, bonfires and lots and LOTS of alcohol. Good times.
Oleander is another underrated band from this era.
im from the UK and ive never met anyone here thats ever heard of crossfade. Ive always grown up on american rock music and happened to find these guys browsing youtube as a teen and remember falling in love with their sound (grew up listening to linkin park from the age of 4), and i remember going into a record store in my city and they had 1 album of we all bleed in their shelves and i remember begging my mum as a kid to get it, and she said maybe for my birthday. 6 months go by and i eventually get birthday money and decide to go shopping, and to my surprise that same exact CD was still on the shelf on its own, nobody bought it in 6 months and they never had a restock, so it was just, there. So i bought it and i swear the CD has such sentimental value to me now just because it feels personal to me, considering nobody knows them where im from. Sorry for long story lol, LOVE CROSFFADE!
When you said "once they get caught, the trust is broken." I immediately thought, if you have to lie, trust is already broken.
let's be fair, sometimes we all lie. Sometimes lies have good intentions, etc. But it really matters, when you lie about something important, this is when you let down or betray the person who trusts you.
@@aerahtv0000 I'm not sure what that has to do with my comment about before or after they are caught, but I agree with what you said. Just not sure how my statement wasn't being fair.
at first I thought you were reacting to the band Cold! love this song the genre is post-grunge, rock.
Sweet Jesus, someone else remembers cold? They were awesome.
This songâs been part of my life since forever. One of my favorite songs, no doubt about it
There was one good thing about my ex wife.. She always would give me a day to have peace and quiet every other week, sometimes once a week, where she'd take the kids out shopping or something like that, so I could have the place to myself. I worked crazy hours, so it was nice to get a day to unwind and relax.
Great one! This one got me so nostalgic... Love this band! Pls react to "Colors" one of my favs as well. Cheers!
Love that song
Oooo I've been waiting for you guys to react to this! :) This album was huge when I was a kid. Dudes got a great voice. And then they just kinda disappeared
Breaking benjamin please "so cold"
Literally my early 20s soundtrack heh. Love these guys!
Back in my middle school introvert days where everyone in my school mostly listened to rap while i was one of the fewer Hispanic dudes that listened mainly to classic and alternative rock lol
"Mourning" by Tantric is a sleeper BANGER.
TANTRIC SLAPS
AND DAYS OF THE NEW
Thank you soooo so much. I used to listen to this song a long time ago and it just flew out of my mind. Thank you!
I miss this type of music lol
So excited that you guys did this song! đ€
This it's Alternative Rock, Check out My favourite Alternative Rock song Kryptonite by 3 Door Down đ€đ„
Check out Headstrong by Trapt, also check out 2nd Sucks by A Day to Remember. Also anything by Three Days Grace Riot, Chalk Outline, The Mountain. Ohh and Breaking Benjamin lol.
Old metal head here I found you guys about 2 months ago and love your channel I also discovered the best new to me rock/metal band I have heard in about 10yrs called "THe Warning" and as much as I love you all reacting to the old stuff please don't miss out on the great new stuff coming out
'so cold - breaking benjamin' is probably the best cold song :D
Wow. I never thought youâll ever cover crossfade. I always liked them, but I bout 6 months ago got their last album they did and Iâm loving it all. The album with cold Iâve had since 04 lol
they didnât pay attention to the video but iâm glad they brought awareness to greatness
Love you two!, Thank you!
Love me some CrossfadeâŠstill listen to this album regularly. Hope you guys enjoyed!
You gonna do Crossfade then you have to venture into Staind and Fuel. Mudshovel from Staind is epic! Then you get into the band Cold. Year of the Spider. Stupid Girl is a good song.
Great reaction. I think you should check out Alter Bridge. They have some big hits such as Black Bird, Broken Wings, Metalingus and you will like both the guitar riffs and the vocals. Also don't forget to check out Kill Switch Engage My Curse and End of Heartache for a heavier side of rock đžđ¶đ¶đ¶
Also Cry of Achilles
Wow Iâve never heard of this song and Iâm in my late 40s when did this song come out?
Early 00's I think. Or mid.
đ€Šââïžđ€Šââïžđ€Šââïž
2004 and if you liked this one then look up Colors. Honestly every song on that album were hits but these two are some of the best from this band. You would probably also like Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Hinder, Puddle of Mud, Filter, and Drowning Pool.
Great memories from my 20s in the early 2000s.
Very underrated band use to jam them when I was like 13 still one of my favorite albums to this day.
Allegaeon âProponent for Sentience III â
Allegaeon âGray Matter Mechanics â
Crossfade is a very underrated of a band incredible of song Cold it's awesome at it's absolute BESTđđœ
The accoustic version they did of this got some radio play back then as well, and its just as good as this version.
I can't believe you guy covered this. Now you truly are the best.
Loved this song! Try waking the demon by bullet for my valentine! The video is crazy!
Itâs a beautiful apology song⊠đ„đ€đ
Crossfade Colors is an awesome song
Lol this was another very popular song in my teens. Colors is a good song for you to check out.
Yesssss been waiting on this one đ
âColdâ by Chris Stapleton is a MUST⊠youâll love it:)
YES FINALLY THANK YOU
You guys are fr under rated
Middle School vibes!!! Ahhh... thank god for MTV and VH1 for puttin' me on to this gem!
What a great song man. Sometimes, people are just bad and cold. And they keep doing and being that way. Some never stop. But for those that do, hereâs this song.
Listen to Three Days Grace man. Great band. Or Seether. Any Song by either band is pretty damn good
Seether! Any song. They have a lot of amazing ones to choose from!
TDG is amazing too! Adamâs voice is just so good!
I always liked this song. I loved 2000s rock, emo, pop punk, etc. - My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, Staind, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Green Day, Foo Fighters.
Love Crossfade! â€
A criminally underrated band. "Invincible" and "already gone" are two of my favs
Takes me back to my junior and senior year in the early 2000's...
Please do Creed- With Arms Wide Open. Love you guys!! đđ
The Guitars probably sounded lower because they use 7 string guitars as opposed to the usual 6 strings
This is the perfect first song to introduce you to Crossfade. The next song I highly recommend is Colors which is another great one of theirs. I was listening to these songs on repeat back in 2005 on CD. If you did like them then check out Chevelle - The Red. These are some more of my favorite underated bands of the early 2000's.
Edit: Sorry didn't know you just did The Red a few days ago already. Several other songs on that album are really good too.
This group is very similar to the sound of "Breaking Benjamins"
Yeah, this was everything I wanted to say to my ex. 17 years ago. lol. It's definitely an apology song.
Wow this song takes me back big time.
Crossfade as people said are an underrated band. Also they are from my state of South Carolina!
This song brings me back
This song hits hard. It's the apology from the asshole ex or current relationship that the person never received the apology they needed. It motivates me. You have to look at this song in a different perspective! đTo really understand it. You have to had hurt and perseverance to push through. Come on guys wake up. This song is poetry!!
No giving up and Colors are also lit!
My favorite song, I listen to it for a year and is not fed up. I first hear this song in 2018.
Lex doesn't jam out when her hairs put back . Facts đ
This song is personal for me... it's when I feel like I was cold but wasn't towards a certain situation.... just love this song.
Daammnn, I havenât heard Crossfade in years!! This entire album was legit!
Yeah real talk
ok NGL I completely forgot this band existed, now this song is Pounding away at the Nostalgia I'm going to find an album after this I need to jump in this rabbit hole.
"Colors" is a song that my son and share as a fav.
yes, it's a guitar. It's just down-tuned a little bit to "drop D." That, and the heavy distortion make the guitar sound really heavy. There is also a bass in there too, and I'm sure that's tuned down as well.
Saw these guys play at a club back when this song was huge
I think it's more of finally losing something you can't get back, not appreciating someone that's in front of you, could be because of toxic relations, could be thinking you'll never lose it, no matter how bad it gets or just being stubborn, and it'll always happen in your life once or multiple times. That's IMO anyways and it makes it a good song actually
One of my favorite songs
Awesome song
When this song comes up, you better believe my mammoth tanks are rolling in!
Crossfade - Colors
ManOwaR - Spirit Horse Of The Cherokee
Itâs is guitar but itâs in a non standard tuning:
Standard tuning is E, A,, D, G, B, E
They are using Drop D tuning where you lower the top string a full step down.. This is a common practice as is half step tuning, tuning to Eb/D# (e-flat or D#, same thing). This gives ambiance and allows the singer to start in a lower register and hopefully not have to strain or accidentally run out of range.
also low tuned guitars sound heavy AF
The guy is acknowledging that his past, his pain, maybe even trauma, maybe from a previous relationship, maybe all the way back to childhood, has left him so screwed up that he's become the "toxic" partner. And it sounds like at some point he tried to explain it, that he wanted to explain it, but that subconscious self-defense mechanism kicked in and he lied about what was really going on. Like, I've been done dirty on relationships. A lot. It's caused me to be guarded, distant, and at times even to "string along" someone who cares about me because I'm scared of history repeating itself. Like I was involved with this girl who lived over 3000 miles away on the other side of the continent, and she had made so many promises about coming to spend time with me, taking off together on a cross-country road trip to meet up with all the friends we'd each made online over the years, going to WrestleMania together, even saying she'd pay my way through college with her inheritance. Promised me basically everything I wanted in life. Then pretty much ghosted me. She came out here but never actually showed up. Wouldn't tell me where she was staying. Then one day says she's gone back home after playing this game of hide n seek for three months. Realized over a year later I HAD seen her but didn't recognize who she was because I was blinded by my depressed and paranoid thoughts, so when she said she was gone I believed she'd never even been here. Few months after she had left and said she didn't know if she'd make the trip again I got myself involved with another girl. And again this one made all these promises that would fulfill major life goals and dreams for me. Said she was on her way out to see me, then messaged to say she had to turn back for something and couldn't make the trip anymore. That first girl had messed me up so bad I blew up and dumped all that anger and frustration and distrust on this one. I was toxic as hell about it, not gonna lie. Drove her away. After I had secluded myself for months, cooled off, and was thinking clearly again that was when I realized the first girl HAD been here and it was my own mistrust that had kept me from seeing her standing literally ten feet away from me. I reached out to her again and wanted to try to work things out, but my pain and my pride wouldn't allow me to shoulder the blame. It was like I HAD to make her see it was HER fault I wasn't able to see her. And, again, I got really toxic about it. And now we rarely speak. A relationship seems out of the question now and even the once rock solid friendship we had never recovered. So I get this song on a personal level. I wanted to work things out. I wanted things to go back to how they were. I wanted to be with this girl. But because I was hurt, all I could be was cold. This was seven years ago and to this day I haven't been able to connect to anyone the way I had connected to either of those two girls, because I am honestly terrified of having to gamble against experiencing that pain again.
Youâre not alone brother Iâm a living example of it too.
God I LOVE this song
This song is powerful
Chevelle - Send the Pain Below
Love this song
This was a BIG song back in the day
Love this song..haven't heard it in years, just forgot the name of the band
Colors and so far away are also awesome songs
Partied with them at the Holiday inn in Little Rock years ago, the lead singer gave me a half ounce of weed and told me his idol was Fred durst from limp Bizkit LOL. We smoke the room out and then he ripped the smoke detector off the walle
I remember this song so so well... Got myself a couple of new speakers that cost me a hefty amount. This was the first song played on it. And I fucked the speakers up after the first drop.
First time I heard this song I have no choice to buy the cd album especially the second album wow.Nice reaction
Haven't heard crossfade in forever
You should check out "So Far Away" "Deep End" and "Already Gone" by them. Great reaction guys đ€
Acoustic version of this is a classic
For this vibe writ stronger, also see Haji's Kitchen "Define the Lie" - cracking!
Really Great Album! after that they started changing band members and just never were quit to same IMO. I am sure some still dug em.
Colors is really good by them too
More like nickle back than Linkin Park
Crossfade is amazing!!! Try Already Gone!
Crossfade no giving up
in malaysia in 2008 this song was in the number 1 chart for three consecutive weeks..
