There are reasons that people ONLY talk about his shooting, and that they have to talk about career totals and "last 5 years" when they're doing that.

They're loaded with guards and Buddy provides little aside from being a three-point specialist. He's the best shooter available, so I like the role off the bench. I just don't think it significantly moves the needle. Appreciate the fire!

@@matchabane5282If Podz is actually going to play the two and Melton is healthy, plus potentially GPIII and Moody then it just becomes crowded with guards. A lot of fans want Moody to get his 20 mpg, Podz is gonna get his 20, I just don’t see him as more than a specialist. Buddy has a role on ANY team, just not a big one with this current Dubs team in my opinion.

Hield off of the bench is good. He's not a starter, but he's also not getting paid as one.

I believe the most important to think is that it’s his last year of a deal and there is no guarantee he signs extension. It’ll cost 4 first rd picks and they won’t take on Wiggins salary off the books, so unless, Wigs + player + 1 or 2 first rounders, i definitely consider but Dubs need a guarantee he’ll resign + taking on Wiggins contract is must as because that’s a huge salary on the books for an underachieving player with all that talent.
Getting buddy for this price was a good pick up. The warriors still need to get better defensively in order to compete especially in the west. This doesn’t help with that. So as of now I think they still will be struggling to even make the playoffs.

1. Criticizing a player for not winning anything overlooks factors like team coaching and schemes. For instance, Damian Lillard hasn't won anything either.

3. Dismissing the need for a player like Klay Thompson ignores his crucial skills. Even if he's not the best available, his floor-spacing and shooting are essential.
Regarding Buddy Hield, while he is a defensive liability, this depends on matchups. There are situations where his and Steph's spacing abilities are needed, especially against teams with poor perimeter defense.
Looking for Hield to have his best season ever thanks to Curry’s gravity.
The more he is on the court with curry the more they can space those two big-time three-point shooters to make room for everybody.

I think Klay will get over 40% in 3s with the Mavs. He'll have to move less and just spot up more. But, let's be fair. The dude shot .385 for the 2 out of the last 3 seasons. He was pretty bad until Feb / Mar last season.

Hield is actually capable of starting at the 2 I wouldn’t be surprised.
Ideally it should be Melton because he has two way ability and if his shooting goes up 2 percentage points then he’s locked that spot.
Podz should be the backup point guard not the two.
Lets be real. Buddy is not replacing Klay. Warriors are going back to 2015-2018 dynasty signings where they bring in specific role players for a specific purpose. In this case its just a 3 point sharp shooter knocking down 3-4 3s a night like Swaggy P did for the Warrriors.

just curious … what would they have to give up to utah to get markannen ? utah beat writer yesterday on 95.7 made a brilliant point that got me wondering … franz wagner just got paid. emmanuel quigley just got paid. jonathan kuminga is about to be eligible extension. these guys are about to set his market … around 150-200M. if utah ask for him would they really be willing to give him this kind of money ?
as for GS if they had to choose either-or of course it would be markannen. however if they somehow kept kuminga after trading for markannen chances are lacob would be willing to pay both big money bc he has deep pockets and has shown he’d spend whatever money it takes to win as many titles he can with curry on the roster. The next move we need to make is we need a Big... while most bigs are accounted for by other teams, but one big I think we should get is Myles Turner! We can do this by trading primary Wiggins, who is no longer a good fit with the Warriors...
Turner is a perfect fit as he is a solid rim protector and a stretch big.
we may have to add another player for the Pacers to bite, in that case we may have to trade Podz as well... which is a sacrifice that would push us into championship contentions.
Heild is a good get for the Warriors, but I'm with Chuck on this one. I'm only happy about acquiring Buddy because we didn't give up anything meaningful for him. I'd rather see Moody get 20+ minutes than Heild.

I do not get the fascination with Kuminga. He's athletic but other than that, I haven't seen much. Markkanen would be a huge upgrade with another probably 7 years in his prime. Without any other additions, they've just decided Curry's years of contention are over.

Better to release a veteran who is injury prone and declining than to hold on to or acquire a young player who is healthy. This is clearly a tactic from the late Bill Walsh. He described why in his books 📚 and interviews.

A long athletic Moody next to Curry in the starting back court would be perfect. Podz is a 6th man type. The others are too small. Gotta move Wiggins period. GP and Looney should also be gone. Brandon Ingram and DeRozen should be targeted to fill Wiggins spot on the team. Draymond to Detroit or elsewhere for a young big.
I still don't get it it... what's all of this love for JK? Overhyped player by the media since day one, because of his athleticism. But he can't shoot, and you can't fix that. I think so many people are going to be disappointed after this year, when they count on him to be the second guy, next too Steph. Then it's going to be too late to get great value for him in a trade. But it doesn’t make sense to bring veteran role players like melton and hield and then expect that nobody will get minutes in terms of logistics it looks like the obvious move you make after you trade for a star because guys like moody and Gp2 are gone but they seem to be working backwards by getting the replacement depth first then trading the blue chips because it’s gonna take a while.
Now I disagree that we don’t know if moody lacks the skills behind those two. Theres enough evidence that melton is better defender with is and hield vs moody shooting it’s no contest.
The problem with giving moody runaway there’s several factors: first you can’t wait because you need players curry to help now, the other because he other players provide his skills at more elite level why use him, lastly and it goes with previous point is you need to use players not just because the player needs development you need use players that fit with the rest of the lineup and this one is not just moodys issue but a bit kuminga issue as well.
@@Jang9851 melton defense isn’t better than moody in my opinion and as far as shooting Moody is just as capable of producing the same as Hield if not more. That’s my point, we don’t know how much Moody can give us because he’s never got consistent mins to prove that he can. I know Melton and Hield are vets but I think Moody still has more upside. He’s taller, can play defense and can score as well. He’s only 22 now going into his 4th season in Kerr’s system so he has that on both. He’s playing for his next contract and I know given the opportunity he will continue to shine.
If I’m wrong then we got both Hield n Melton to take up the slack. Why not give our homegrown youngster his due and see what we got. It’s not like Melton and Hield are stars they’re role players and we don’t know if Moody can be a star but we’ll never know if we don’t give him the opportunity to be such.

Hield is on klays level. Hell he’s done stuff that not even klay has and that’s without benefiting from draymond and steph. 260 3s or more in a season Steph has done that 9 times. Klay has done it twice.
Hield has accomplished that 4 times! Moody is not even the same league my friend. This is wildly inaccurate take my friend. The potential of what moody can provide has been shown in larvae of sample size over 3 years and his draft profile. Moody had 3 and d potential but you need to move him. He’s not gonna reach Hield shooting meltons ceiling and surpass yeah he could but melton has basketball iq which moody doesn’t as much. You need to trade moody for help.
You need explain based on what facts are projecting that we don’t know what moody can be. It doesn’t work like that potential is projected on your ncaa years and its numbers and the sample size provided which is now large enough that you can extrapolate over 36 minutes. The empirical evidence is already there on what his ceiling is. It’s incorrect to say that we don’t know.
