As of 2021, the USAF possesses a massive fleet of 5,217 active aircraft, Making it the largest, most technologically advanced, and most powerful air force globally. While lacking certain fighter jets like the F-35 Lightning II or F-15 Strike Eagle, the USAF boasts 792 AH-64 75 MQ-1C Gray Eagle drones and Apache attack helicopters in its service, contributing significantly to its top-ranking position.
    2. Russian Air Force
    Although the Russian Air Force has diminished compared to its former Soviet Air Force counterpart, it remains a formidable and potent air force. Following the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1992, the Russian Air Force was departed with 1,900 combat aircraft. However, Russia has continuously improved its air defense capabilities and produced powerful combat planes like the Mikoyan MIG-31 ‘Foxhound,’ which exhibits remarkable and fierce capabilities.
    With a focus on high-speed warfare and strong military air defense strategies, the Russian Air Force holds the second position on the world’s air force list. It operates more than 3,000 strategic bombers and around 4,500 fighter planes such as the MiG-29 Fulcrum and MiG-25 Foxbat. Additionally, it possesses approximately 3,400 attack aircraft like the Su-24 Fencer, Su-25 Frogfoot, and Su-17 Fitter.
    3. Indian Air Force
    This country has achieved victory in several wars and has a history of developing its own aircraft. However, its reliance on Russian airframes puts them behind countries like Saudi Arabia and Japan, which possess F-15s.
    Officially established on 8 October 1932, the country’s Defense Forces increased their recruitment base by establishing Military Schools and Sainik Schools. The Indian President serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the air force. With a substantial size, the Indian Air Force comprises 139,576 personnel on active duty and 140,000 in reserve. It operates a fleet of over 1850 aircraft, including multi-role fighter planes like Rafael, Sukhoi, HAL Tejas, and SEPECAT Jaguar.
    Additionally, they possess land-based missile systems like surface-to-air and ballistic missiles. The Indian Air Force has been instrumental in various operations, including Operation Vijay, Operation Cactus, and four major wars with Pakistan.
    4. People’s Liberation Army Air Force (China)
    The Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) boasts a substantial air fleet with 1,991 military aircraft in the PLAAF, 857 in the Army, and 437 in the Navy, totaling 3,285. With approximately 330,000 personnel, the Chinese Air Force stands third in the world, ranking behind Russia in total aircraft but surpassing the Russian Air Force in terms of personnel.
