      I can see that there are more and more people telling me that this day, was not 60 knots of wind.
      So let me tell you something: in Tarifa summer time with 30 knots are probably 300 people windsurfing and kite, probably more but I am talking only about Valdevaqueros beach most popular place, the place I was that day. When is 50 knots still you can see 40 people trying they best, but this time I was alone on the water the wind was too strong for tourists and too strong for locals to have go and have fun. (pretty obvious) I know is hard to believe watching the water surface from my Go PRO POV footage - this day I have made mistake and I put 32 ND filter. Probably will looks more realistic with no ND filter, but I do not care. This time I was alone in most popular place in Europe penisula for strong wind destination and the wind was gusting more then 60 knots from time to time. Why I use 3,7 because I do not need smaller size, I do have 30 years windsurfing experience dudes. Come to my place and do windsurfing with me …. You can find my accommodation on www.airbnb.es/rooms/33515962?preview_for_ml=true&source_impression_id=p3_1694547730_hY2PkHb4hDeb%2Bc5X
      So trace strong wind come to my place stay with me and lets do windsurf in 60 + knots of wind, brothers….. keep ripping and see you in the water.

    60+ is a hurricane. It’s a cool story though.

    Boy, that camera is not doing justice. Those 60 knot conditions look more like 30 knots. The 45 knot's I sailed in water was blown away into sweeping sprays, branches torn of and flying around, boards getting blown off the water (with the rider still on them).

      Truth.... go pro with 32 ND filter not make realistic wind speed show....

    Probably you were seeing 60 kph = 32 knots. You'd need a lot smaller sail than 3.7 just to survive, let alone knock out those sweet gybes!

    Like everyone one else mentioning: 60 Knots look different. This summer in Tarifa there were two strong Levante days with gusts going up to the low 40 knots ( easy to look it up on open-meteo) . Why was nobody out that day? I guess it was gusty as hell and everyone went to Caños

    • @jeldriks
      @jeldriks Před 11 měsíci

      @@andreasherzinger368 , it's visible in the video, that the wind was pretty strong, and I am not contesting that. 40+ knots is freaking strong and you have to be pretty ballsy to go out in these conditions. But 60 knots would almost be hurricane force winds. Trees would be toppling over and there would be power outages. I live close to Tarifa, and we haven't had a day like that for quite a while..

  • @windguru2091

    As a regular windsurfer in Tarifa who has been in the water with gusts of up to 100 km, I can attest that those are not 60 knots. Stop flipping out dude

  • @wedding_photography
    @wedding_photography Před 11 měsíci +1

    That doesn't look like 60 kts. In 45 kts you will have constant water spray in the air. In 60 kts you'd be *very* overpowered on a 3.7.

      Thanks for you comment. With wide camera lance like GO PRO the biggest waves looks small and the strongest wind looks like is nothing.
