This is one of EXO's most awarded and popular songs, so you are sure to hear it all over the place. Because you enjoyed "Call Me Baby" so much, you definitely should also check out the EXO-M Mandarin Chinese version. If you watch the two versions side by side, you will see that the members that are featured in each part are different and even in the dance sections where you might think "it looks the same" there are different members doing different parts. The two versions of their MVs may look similar, but that's only because they filmed the MV twice and deliberately made the scenes look the same. Also, if you really pay attention, the scene may look the same, but the members who sing the parts are different depending on the version that you watch. Exactly, Pierre! Multilayeredness is the key characteristic for EXO in general: complicated multilayered music and vocals. There's never a flat note but at least 2 or 3 layers of vocals, even in their solos. That's why it was so important that each one in EXO can sing, even the rappers. They're used as a second layer to the main vocalists, my favorite combinations are Chen+Kai and Baekhyun+Sehun. Unfortunately, kpop doesn't favor baritones and they're trained to sing like tenors (just look what they did to Kai's beautiful natural baritone, it's not utilized properly), but SMEnt producers are smart enough to use baritones to warm up and add depth to the crystal clear, high and rather cold vocals of the main vocalists. EXO all types of vocals and sub vocalists usually double one of the main vocalists. That's why when one of them goes to the military there's always someone to cover his lines in a concert. I love baritones more, Kai's warm velvet and Chanyeol's coarse almost crusty baritones are my favorite.
