- Steven McRae is a Principal of the Royal Ballet in London and a gifted tap dancer. For the video series Musica Maestra, Alondra de la Parra meets the Australian dancer on the sidelines of a performance of “Romeo and Juliet” at the Royal Opera House in London. The Mexican conductor talks to McRae about his first ballet lessons in Sydney, winning the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, his appointment to the Royal Ballet School in London and his great passion: tap dancing, which he’s always practiced throughout his life. And of course, Steven McRae also gives Alondra de la Parra a little tap-dancing masterclass.

He looks much stronger than ever. WOW
He is amazing, all round.
So fascinating what she says about his musicality and how he's a fellow musician. And as a conductor, she's in a position to know!
i LOVE Stephen!! For those of you who haven't seen Alice in Wonderland from Royal Opera, he was the Mad Hatter there and omg what a performance he gave~!! Those feet and those facial expressions! His wife is also a soloist in the Royal Opera. He's my fav ballet dancer~!!
I know he is incredible!
Amazing Man!
Talented, hard working, dedicated and a dancer par excellence!
He is definitely an amazing artist and seems to be a very nice person, too.
I loved him as The Mad Hatter.
As a dancer, I love ballet and tap so Steven is one of my biggest inspirations!
Wonderful!
Ich mag solche Darbietungen sehr. War schön, dieser Beitrag.
Love when real men do ballet!!
How wonderfdul to see SMR back after his injury. While recuperating, it's obvious he was hitting the gym. Never looked so yummy!
Very multi talented. Loved him in Alice in Wonderland.
Спасибо ПРЕКРАСНО 👏👍
Ugh….I don’t like McRae’s upper body anymore. He looks like a Stretch Armstrong doll now, with those….arms….just staring at me. I don’t want to look at anyone (let alone a ballet dancer) and be distracted when they’re too skinny or with muscles too bulky.
That’s a slightly ridiculous thing to say. I bet any ballerina would be very grateful for those arms lifting her above his head. I don’t think they are overdone at all. They are in proportion to the rest of his body.
He looks healthy and strong, which is the most important thing.
I think his body is stunning!
He needs the upper body strength for the difficult lifts in Mayerling.
He looks hot. And he looks insanely into himself. His whole IG is just muscles. I’m a gay man, and even I’m tired of seeing it💅🏽
