Planning my Fish Room

  • As I build out my fish room I had to take a step back and actually figure out how I am going to design it. I go through the process of optimizing number of tank to be placed to figuring out what actually works best for me. There are a lot of different things to consider when planning out your fish room. This is what I came up with for now and we will see if the end result changed or not as I continue to document my journey.

      Aqua Apprentice I think 3rd design is best but good chance you’ll make some more adjustments, I know I made a bunch. No experience with water softeners so cant help you there but interested to hear what you end up doing. Good luck in the Aquascaping contest!

      Got my water softener question answered from a guy in my club so I may just hire the guy to do it if he lets me record and if not I may try it myself. We will see.

    Love the attention to detail, setting yourself up for success. I think you settled on a mix of tanks, excited to see the outcome!

      AQUA FUNK W/ ANGEL FREAK hopefully man. I don’t think it will be a problem and can probably even fit more. Just got to make sure this auto water change system is set up so I don’t have to spend hours on water changes.

    Looks great, well laid out. Try to make room for storage, either under the table or a cabinet on the wall. I'm battling JUNK overload. I have 2 place that I just pile STUFF. It's annoying and I have to dig to find anything. I also do drafting work, I use Autocad civil 3d 2019. Oh I almost forgot, what about a 29 instead of the 20's. they are still in the $1 per gallon range.

    • @AquaApprentice
      @AquaApprentice  Před 5 lety

      Its definitely something I need to think about. I like the longs because they are easy to light but the 29 gallon is more versatile for stocking fish. Hmmmmm...
      I am definitely leaving space under the racks for either buckets or bins, I already have clutter with only a few tanks. Thanks for the ideas brotha.

    • @AquariumCop
      @AquariumCop Před 5 lety +2

      20 long , 29 , and 37 all same footprint - the only difference is the height - but 37's are not in the dollar gallon sale 😱

    • @NYGOLD
      @NYGOLD Před 5 lety

      @@AquaApprentice start off slow don't overwhelm yourself with too many tanks. water changes and maintenance shouldn't be a huge pain is the ass. It takes the fun out of it.

    • @AquaApprentice
      @AquaApprentice  Před 5 lety +1

      @@AquariumCop Problem with the 37's is like you mentioned the height, would make it difficult to fit because I have a limit on the height because the garage door needs to open. but the 29's I do kind of like and the $1 per gallon is definitely a plus.

    Good planning, don't forget to plan for your plumbing too. I Like all the options, my advise is not to settle for one, but a mix of them. Be flexible, planning is one thing, real world in the actual floor is totally different. I'm rebuilding my fish room, between surprises and me changing my mind all plans went out of the door, so I understand how you feel. Check out my channel maybe you find something that will help you or get new ideas. I'm a Floridian too, good luck.
