- DO NOT BUY S1000R UNTIL You WATCH THIS /Fatal FLAW
Hello guys and welcome to a new one, today a wanted to share a problem that I have with my BMW S1000R, it is about a hot start issue that I believe many owners of this bike are experienced already.
If you are on the market for this bike it is an important thing to know.
I hope this was of some help.
Tnx for watching and I will see you at the next one.

I’m picking one up tomorrow and I’m very glad I found your video …I will be thermal wrapping my fuel line the second I bring it home
Enjoy it! I just bought one today to collect when it's serviced!
Mines got 20,000 miles and never had this issue
Ha I recently got this bike in mind
My TNT behave well but it can't pass the volume test on track in Taiwan , My back hurt after 3 laps when I rode my friend's RSV4 . So I thought this is the best choice .
Gonna ask if there's a way to prevent this to happen
Lol.. I actually found your use of appauling laungage very funny! Thanks good to know.. Im think to get a 2020 version..
Hahaha tax mate language is still work in progress.
2020 Is awsome bike you won’t regret it for sure 👊
@@Motogents cheers.. Just to be sure of any miss understanding, i was not criticising bad English grammar etc more the use of expletives.. It just popped into your sentence with the most perfect timing that made me laugh out loud it was just so unexpected. Yes im really considering the s1000r swapping out from India ftr1200. Very different bike. The ftr has a great engine but handling is not quite 100% for me.
Thx mate, good to know
You are welcome mate 👊
I bought the exact same bike and within the first 2 weeks of having it I ran into this problem 3 times. I didn't know it's a known issue, so i called the dealership so theyre going to get BMW to pick it up and fix it. Such an outstanding bike, but this problem is definitely bad for something so premium. Ride safe
Yeap dude exactly as you said it,brilliant bike on the road and the track but but that stupid problems are really annoying.
But you will love it it is really amazing piece of machinery.
@@Motogents Yeah so mine has been at BMW since Monday now. They said they can fix it at least and already ordered a load of parts including heat shields and what not. Luckily I also dont have to pay for it :)
@@AllericEnslinthe problem is simple its the fuel pump which get warm in high temperature, & the temp senson go in protection so you cannot start up the bike. The fix is swap whit new fuel pump & isolate the cables i did it whit high temp isolation bends, i can start up even at 100° whit no problems.
@@ilija6619 Yep, BMW called me today to say they have done the exact same. Will be getting the bike back tomorrow then she's all good to go!
Got my bike back 2 days ago. Starting perfectly even at 100c :) Happy boy now
A boring problem, kind of the same shit on rsv4 and tuono v4 at least until 2017, if hot enough, a bit of a struggle to start it again after refuelling for example. It's start ish
Ofc its no big deal becuse its BMW. If that shit happened to Italian bike, you guys would go with t-shirts and joking around. BMW stands for Burn My Wallet. 😮
I’ve owned this bike since 2019 it’s happened less than 10 times in 29k miles bmw also offer a fix for it.
There a fix for this? I'm picking up my 2017 s1000r tomorrow:)
Yes a think there is solution from bmw ,they are selling some kind of heat shield, its best to contact dealership and see if they have that part .
Yes…thermal wrap and it’s extremely cheap from Amazon …you just need to be mechanically competent enough to lift your fuel tank and not be dumb enough to drop it once it’s off 😂
Imam ga iz 2015g , nikad mi se to jos nije dogodilo, barem za sad. Motor ima 17000km
Na nekim motorima se dešava stalno na nekim nikad pa kako ga ubodes 😭
I Will buy a 2016 s1000r whit 40000km whit bmw warranty would you recomande it? Price is 7800€ all service did in bmw dealership.
Honestly 40.000km is serious mileage and all kind the stuff needs to be replaced, chains and chains tensioners ,suspension service ,rear shock sevice.
But if all that is done and you have documentation from seller i think it's a good deal for 7800e.
@@Motogents well it has all services in bmw idk what servises are done but for sure transmission is changed 2000km ago also oil and filters. I still have warranty, tilt 60k km or 1 half year. I saw some bikes whit 10k kilometers trated worse than bikes whit 3 times more
Oh yeah that's is for sure you can destroy a bike in one year,if you got warranty from bmw it is not a bad deal,i would say go for it .
@@Motogents true bro also i have a yamaha 09 2017 for 7400€ whit 10000km, but all say go for bmw, yamaha also can hahe problem whit chain tensioner i know a guy buy a new sp after 1000km sound like a socket fall into engine....
Definitely go with BMW,S1000r is on a different level compared to MT-09.
And most definitely more quality build than MT-09.
