The Australian Rugby League was going fully proffesional in the 80's. An incredibly popular product needed to go to the next level. A genius said "simply the best," captured the essence of the journey. They paid Tina a small fortune, but it was peanuts compared to the phenomenon it created. Adding Jimmy Barnes was the most natural next step. Whoever had the idea could never be paid enough.

As others have said this was fro a promo commercial for football, Australian Rugby League (now known as NRL). I really love this. This is a dream pairing. Tina and Jimmy are amazing together. Their voices complement each other. You can see how much they like each other too, great rapport. I think you can tell Jimmy's a really nice guy. Yes and Diesel is there too. I reckon Tina had a good time when she was in Australia.

To be Honest this version of the song is my favourite. and YES they ARE the equivalent of the male and female version of each other. Glad you have cottened on to Johnny Diesel, he is very underarrated.

Jimmy Barnes and Tina Turner are the most absolutely perfect combination it is possible to imagine, and they bounce off each other as they take it to the next level. It is obvious too that Tina is loving finding a voice that can match her in every way. Their musical chemistry is simply amazing. Truly the best!

I find it adorably ironic that the name of _Tip Of My Tongue_ was on the tip of yours talking about it. Love this version of the song. You're 100% right, their voices are like the male and female version of each other.

Without a doubt, the most st perfectly matched duet EVER!
MASSIVE Barnsey fan, and when he paired with Tina, as arguably the best rock female vocalist, well absolute perfection.
The fact that you recognised Diesel, blew my mind. I'm a massive fan of his too.... I believe he's terribly underated, and deserves sp much more credit for his body of work!
    Great reaction brother!

Mark Lizotte aka Diesel is an American-born Australia singer-songwriter and guitar legend who also happens to be a brother-in-law to Jane & Jimmy Barnes. I can only imagine how the music and lyrics would be pumping when this vastly talented family gets together…there ain’t no second prize as they’re all…it’s right on the tip of my tongue…Brilliant!!!!

It's actually a Bonnie Tyler song originally.
Then Tina covered it and a couple years later the National Rugby League here in Australia got her to record with Jimmy for their advertising campaign... and BOOM!

It was and Bonnie Tyler is a queen in her own right. The fact that all her hits came after a botched larynx surgery and even now in her 60's she's outsinging most of the major pop singers. She is a fucking G

I love watching your reactions. Your passion for music and singers has so much energy and joy. It is so much fun watching you react to some of our Aussie icons. I'm not sure if anyone has referred you to INXS "Never Tear Us Apart". Great tune you might like. Unfortunately, Michael Hutchence passed away way too young. I am a life long Cold Chisel/Barnesy/Diesel fan and it is real thrill to see you react at first glance the way you do.
