  • I made a video detailing the use of the old Line 6 Pod 2.0 and the legacy Floorboard as as midi controller setup. I have it working with a TC Electronics G Major. I'm able to do Program Control changes, Control Changes, even both pedals work as expression and volume pedals.

    I love the idea of using the Line 6 Floorboard as a midi controller for modern devices/software. It seems like any of the recently offered foot controllers all require additional or separate expression pedals making set-up more complicated in addition to the expense of purchasing the pedals. I have been put off by the feasibility of transferring data from the ethernet wire through a midi or USB converter. I own 5 of these Floorboards and would be thrilled (let's say) to control Neural DSP plugins in a live situation without having to purchase all new equipment. Thanks for this video.

      Hey, did it work? I want to do the same thing but don't have a midi-usb cable so I'm wondering whether it is worth to buy one. Thanks for help in advance.

      @@krzysiekczajkowski427 Hey, did you try it out?

    Very cool and thanks for sharing!! I'd be tempted to hook the MIDI out into an ipad or audio interface running MIDIox and see exactly what happens when you do the various button presses.

      Thanks! If you get the OG manual for this online, I believe there is a MIDI table that tells everything. I know I was able to use it to change patches, if you hit the channel select button it then sends CC

    Thanks for this - and I thanked you on the Line6 site. This opens up a lot of possibilities...but I haven't figured them all out yet :)

    For DIY people with a Floorboard but no POD 2.0 there seems to be a way to use an Arduino Nano to connect the Floorboard to a computer via USB fritzing.org/projects/line-6-floorboard-arduino-interface This would work for e.g. DAW and softsynth work, and there's a Max/MSP patch in the project. The author says it's possible to get MIDI straight out of the Arduino without needing a computer, and he can add that modification to the project if someone asks for it.

    Hi man , will is work in pod xt ? ( Kidney red ) and wouldn't is work with 5 pin midi cable as I have midi in out in my audio interface ? Or I still need this midi to usb cable ? Program change from daw ?

    • @ShreddingFinn
      @ShreddingFinn  Před 3 lety

      yeah it your interface has the midi ports you can connect it to that instead of another piece of gear, and then control anything inside your daw with it, you only need a midi to usb if your interface doesnt have midi ports

    I have a MPK225 and know nothing about anything. I wonder what would happen if I connect the POD to the MPK?

    Did u have to do complicated midi assignment or does the TC have midi learn?

    • @ShreddingFinn
      @ShreddingFinn  Před 3 lety

      It has midi learn so most stuff from around then would have it too
