I heard that Date A Live wasn't well-received by westerners when its anime adaptation aired in 2013 due to its rather silly premise. But as the series went on and became Darker and Edgier, it's now being seen with more positive light compared to before. Good thing it had the introduction of Kurumi and Westcott which took the series in a much darker and serious turn.
Aside from a small group of friends, I rarely knew anyone that watched this show. It wasn't until around like season 3 that I started to see more and more people talk about it, so this checks out.

Well, that explains its popularity. I watched season 1 and 2 back in 2015, and I don't remember it being so popular. I thought it was my imagination, but your comment confirms my beliefs.

You know how Shido Itsuka never gave up on any ex-antagonistic Spirits like Kurumi Tokisaki, Miku Izayoi, Natsumi Kyouno, Origami Tobiichi and Mukuro Hoshimiya nor did he try to kill them or let them be killed despite all the atrocities they've committed using their supernatural powers? I guess he just wants to see the good/best in other people and believes that anyone (who's genuinely good at heart and not beyond redemption) could change if he could reach out to them somehow and is willing to give them a 2nd chance. I have to admit he made the right choice and it was better compared to how Ben Tennyson tried to deal with Kevin Levin after the latter absorbed the former's Ultimatrix and became Ultimate Kevin (The mutation Kevin Levin went through in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien).

Just letting everyone know, from a light novel reader. This season will be dark unlike the four other seasons. I highly suggest preparing a couple tissue boxes before watching. I know for sure I’m not prepared to see the adaption version of certain parts of the light novel 😢

I'd love another movie, but when I think logically, there's 22 volumes, a season covers 3-4 volumes and there's 6 volumes left, it's unlikely unfortunately. What they could do, like with Mayuri Judgement, is to make a movir about non canon events. Maybe Date a Strike movie? Or the encores that weren't included in the anime? Or maybe a movie series that covers all the date a bullet books would be sick too

I really enjoyed every single season, my ranking would be s1, then 4, then 2, then 3. Even though I enjoyed each one so much, I often heard that Light Novel readers hated the adaptation bc of skipped and changed content. I am not a reader at all, I've never read LNs, I don't read books, etc. I only read manga bc, but I'm currently reading the LNs, I've read vol. 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 and 12 and I gotta say, the light novels really are much better. The first 4 are only a little better because the anime adapts them quite well, but when I compare vol. 10 with the anime Angel Tobiichi arc and especially vol. 12 with the anime Itsuka disaster? It's like night and day. I'd recommend to everyone to put on the 2 hours, 6 Minutes and 36 seconds date a live soundtrack Playlist on CZcams and read the LNs. I don't know if I can catch up to volume 16 before season 5 airs on April 10th but I wanna at least read the source material, in case they butcher it (which I don't believe). Man I love date a live
