    Wow, this way of moving excavators was common in the 70's and 80's ,atleast here in norway, the dumptruck would have a rod stikking up innside the bucket and the excavator had a hole in the bucket to tread down on the rod, like a fith wheel connection, after it rolled on to the wheeldolly they just rolled it from job to job, but on that time the excavators was not the size they are to day,and the regulations was not the same,so its not a new idea,just a modern tuch to and old one.....

    • @Senkino5o
      @Senkino5o Před 2 lety +1

      Excavators were just as large in the 70s as they are today, mini/micro excavators hadn't even been invented.
      They may not have been as powerful, definitely not as fast and efficient, but absolutely just as big.
      They use this method for fast transport around mines for smaller machines.

    • @superskrobb
      @superskrobb Před 2 lety +1

      @@Senkino5o sure they was,but my point was on the ones used in common road work etc ,not the ones in mines and big quarry's , a dumptruck with a excavator hanging behind it on a contry road was a common sight........

    It doesn't save fuel because it needs two machines. Maybe the transport is faster of these way or maybe it avoids damages to the road.
    Anyone can tell us the explanation?

    • @WeTheEpicCanadians
      @WeTheEpicCanadians Před 2 lety +1

      Time is money, way faster to transport like this, and fuel won't be much different. Transport truck and trailer needs to drive to site whereas here you already have the equipment at hand for transport. No extra services needed.$$$

      Track hoe's can only go about 1 or 2 mph and to load them on a trailer takes time and wear on the trailer. Time is money, and the easier the better.

      It's a mine. Mines can be very large and cover lots of land. When a machine is at the face needs to be taken to the shop, it may take many hours to tram a track machine.

      essas são feitas em fábrica especializada nesse tipo de serviço, mas com um bom soldador, muita criatividade e uma certa quantia de dinheiro da pra fazer algo parecido, com 2 eixos de caminhão, comprados no ferro velho, ai é adaptar suporte de fixação e tudo mais.

      The tracks get worn out ,there are only so many miles of use in one set,
      Different surfaces means more or less abrasion, going on sharp blasted rock is really abrasive.
      and also The tracks destroys roads,military tracked vehicles with steel tracks have rubber pads added to prevent destruction on roads ,when doing drills "on road" surfaces. And for prolonged life going on roads. These are often transported on trailers or railroads cars longer distance, just like diggers , in this case

      I had to fetch 3 to load on my truck today, they were about a ⅓ of a mile away from it. The things took forever to get back and they almost shook to bits on the way, so this is a very good idea.
