Great flow, (waxing and waning) great lyricism, - and never mechanical or dry ; plus each of these players makes superb tones in his, or her, own right. Particularly the shaded tones of the recorder player, the unusually good intonation of the gambist, and textural choices of the harpsichordist made this performance memorable.
Ambience is EVERYTHING! Without the AWESOME haunting, echoing acoustic here, I would have scarcely given this video a second glance! But oh, how wonderful it is, the way it is! ❤ (Splendid playing, of course! ❤ )
I would like to point out that reading the wonderful treatises of Heinichen, Mattheson et al results in much better results in 100% of the cases. It would help these people, too. Mattheson does not approve!
You cannot have both principles embodied: 1) Knowing, that your point of view is RIGHT. And has to be!!! 2) being in touch with the poeple around you. Feeling existentially moved. Feel compassion for them or their work. And at the moment I fail to feel compassion about Matteson.... Which leaves me sighing about myself... But I like the way they are playing. And I am curious about the texts of Heinichen... Well.. Let's see.
Kristine, sorry to bother you, but some of your latest videos have been marked as "for kids", so they didn't alert us users about their release. Please review them, that "for kids" feature will mask new videos from notifications and it's rather insulting for us viewers also (damn CZcams). Thanks!
Nice playing, but why not do it on a voice flute in the original key? Also, would be nice if you lightened and varied your articulation, I only hear one consonant over and over again, when the recorder is capable of so much more.
Good idea! But most recorder players don't have a voice flute. (including me). And it's tricky to read in the original key, while playing on a D-tuned instrument... I can transpose between C/F... So get the F-transcribed part, and play it on a voiceflute, while Your continuo buddy plays in e-minor...
@@jaysparc Now I got it. A few months ago I got a voice flute for a project. First time it was confusing, then I recognised the same thing You commented. Add four flats (by your mind) and play as a bass recorder in bass clef. (well, if the key of the piece has more than a few sharps, eg. e-major, then a voice flute is a bless!)
@@thpeti Finally I just realized that you can play any recorder of any size or pitch if you stop thinking about transposition. Recorders all are non-transposing instruments, if you start thinking in real pitch, it becomes much easier. I had a G ganassi, a 6th flute in Bb and read them all at pitch.
I think she is one of the greatest recorder players ever.
She is❤

That's a cello, not a viola da gamba, I will agree though that she's good.
Errrrr...WHERE's the gambist? 😄
Really outstanding playing. Amazing control and articulation. The phrasing in the 3rd movement beautiful and the fast passages sound effortless.
Beautiful music, beautifully played together ❤️
Superb ensemble playing. One of my favourite flute sonatas. Know every note following the phrases you play. I play this on tenor recorder in D minor.
The lovely Kristine West is a virtuoso player indeed, somebody for us lesser players to aspire to. Brilliant!
I'm a self-taught master of the recorder, I crush the competition.
Lovely lady with the rare ability to add genuine emotional content to her music. A genuine pleasure to experience.
Elle est vraiment formidable, et quelle justesse ! Chapeau !

I listen to the music until the last second just to see Kristine smiling at the end.
Dimples rule.
Underbart!
Por más que me absorbe su dulce interpretación termino perdido invariablemente en la belleza de sus piernas
Музыка хороша,а ноги- нет!

09:12 best part ever :)
What is this place? the organ looks magnificient
2:19 WHAT WAS THAT?!? 😳
Can Kristine tell us who made this lovely recorder ?
It is actually a Moeck denner alto. Best regards, Kristine
I am smitten by the cellist.
The man at the cembalo seems a little agitated
Does he want to do the dancer at the same time ?
Here you can have fun with backing tracks and play baroc pieces with different styles:czcams.com/video/yx797cW1emI/video.html

Just transpose the continuo parts down a tone to D minor. Now ready to play with voice flute.
@@thpeti It's not tricky at all. Learned to do it easily. Just think you're reading bass clef, it's the same transposition.

Beautiful (but the Lang Lang harpsichordist is distracting)
No one is in tune with anyone else
