  • Adam Driver praises “Ferrari” director Michael Mann’s attention to detail, which included subtle but important prosthetics to make the actor look exactly like the subject of the film. Stick around for more with Adam Driver and check out “Ferrari” when it opens in theaters on Christmas Day.

    Adam Driver is a top notch Thespian! On Conan's podcast I found out on his own he learned how to use an actual telegraph machine and Morse code for Lincoln but hilariously he didn't have to because they simply hooked up the machine to do it automatically! 🤣 Adam's being a Marine and caring about his craft as an actor is above and beyond merely memorizing lines and playing around which causes me to truly appreciate his performances!

    • @necromaya
      @necromaya Před 5 měsíci +5

      He does that in tons of his films. For "Silence" he learned Portuguese, and early Latin, for "Paterson", he literally took a course on how to drive a bus, and even got his license for it. COMMITTED.

      I have another one to add! My good friend/mentor was the props master on Tracks, an Australian picture… Adam played Rick Smolan, the photo journalist. When it came time for the props master to show Adam how to work the camera that his character was meant to use, Adam let him know that he’d gone and had a look ahead of time and was now well versed in how to use the camera (35mm SLR). Props master was thrilled because it meant one less job to have to worry about 😂 dude is committed to the craft! It’s refreshing. I’m also a props master… the amount of times I’ve had to run through a prop with an actor that they have no clue about is alarming esp. when their character is meant to know their way around said prop lol so small things like this never go unnoticed!

      @@sammmiii13 Most actors, sadly, are merely empty spaces between the ears and simply memorize lines and need to be told what to do, where to stand on a mark, etc. literally needing direction. And when they cry out, "Line!" Or "What's my motivation?" Geez! 🤣 I wonder if Adam was always the way he is or was it because he was in the Marines. Either way he's young and if we don't die in WW3 and from the Cyberpandemic we have A LOT more to enjoy from him!

    The opening clip reminds me of what happened to a friend of my father. He was restoring a Ferrari Dino (designed by, and named for Mr. Ferrari's son) in the mid 1980's when the car was still thought of as an abomination by collectors. As my father's friend was walking through the warehouse with the manager the old man appeared. They had a short conversation, and suddenly the manager was told to crate up anything that my father's friend needed. No charge. Shipping was included. That's how passionate Enzo Ferarri was about his business and his family.

    It seems that none of the main characters are Italian, and when I hear faking their Italian accents it makes me cringe. They are all great actors and I love them, but I prefer them in different roles. Why not hire an Italian or Italian descendent, when prosthetics are not a problem? Even Penelope Cruz, like moving her hair up and down makes her “more Italian “ gimme a break 😂

      @@necromaya LMAO, whatever makes you feel better loser. Seriously, what is wrong with you? I watched it on DVD with my aunt, uncle and cousin over Thanksgiving. The ending was so cliche with Ferrari taking his bastard son to visit the grave of his real son. The crash was a very good and impactful scene and they did a good job of showing the carnage that caused the Mille Miglia to end as a race. What would like me to talk about? The scene where Penelope cruz goes up to the mistresses house but doesn't go inside? Maybe the scene where Enzo sends off the racers talking to them one by one? How about the scene where Penelope cruz goes to the bank and takes the check with her? How on earth would you know if I saw an advance copy? Do you even know any academy members because I know 4, one of whom is my aunt, so you can tell yourself whatever makes you feel better but I did see an advanced copy. BTW I'm allowed to voice my opinion on CZcams if I want and if you thought that was a great movie you have TERRIBLE taste in film.
