  • In a convenience store parking lot just outside downtown Phoenix, an Arizona Public Service crew removes a recloser and installs a new recloser to provide feeder fault isolation, reduce customer outages and provide faster recognition and response times in the case of line events.

    The supposed strengthening of the guy wire was actually just another fiberglass extension rod being added as the guy wire would be near the live terminals on the recloser

    We haven’t been able to uncraddle a truck in years without sleeves and gloves . Im real suprised to even see a company that does allow it. I sure miss it.

    The small transformer is a potential transformer, it drops the line voltage from 7200 VAC to 120 VAC for control power.

    Why was the recloser put on the opposite side of the pole? The old one was out of the way.

    What was that small transformer for?

      Sergio Hernandez , sir, that's the small P.T. for power supply of the controller. The other one is the C.T. for detecting the fault and other parameters such as the load. Correct me if im wrong.

    I think they're using the voltage detector and not a ammeter as you said sir. How long it takes the process of changeout?

    • @linemanap
      @linemanap Před 5 lety +5

      No it's a amp meter

      There's voltage. What they want to be certain of is that the amperage is zero to ensure no loads are being powered, or if they cut into the cable there would be an arc and potentially kill someone.

    Yeah sure an instructional video but somehow doesn't even mention the bypass switches being closed in on the other side of the recloser to tie the line without dropping load and jumps straight into removing leads lol.

    "Strengthened the guy wire" lol!!!! They didnt Strengthened the wire they cut a fiber stick into it to insulate it from the hot wires on the recloser lol just let us watch the vids and mute the narrator
