Nah, the album isn't that good, and I'm a huge Em fan. This song is great tho, got me teary eyed. I'm gonna be listening to this non-stop once Em is gone once and for all and I'm gonna cry my eyes out. It feels like he is talking to me, I was 10 when I first heard TSSLP and been a fan of his ever since, shit hits too hard in the feels!

I'm fortunate enough that I still have my mum (I've pretty much never known my dad), but between a car crash that happened when I was like 8 years old, abusing prescription medication, and abusing alcohol, I'm slowly losing my mum drink by drink and pill by pill. I think losing them suddenly is honestly better than being able to see the slow and steady degradation of the person you've known and loved your whole life.

I'm a 51 yr old mom of 3(30,23 and 16)-- I have surgery next week to remove a tumor(my 4th fight with breadt cancer since 2011)and this song shook me to my core. Even though it's supposed to be an easy, in and out surgery, there's always that fear. My 16 yr old is my only girl and I dread not being here to get her thru. This song is so beautiful but it hurts my heart at the same time. Enjoy every moment-- they grow up waayyy too fast.💙💙💙

The first time i heard this song it hit me like a truck. I will be losing my dad soon and this really just made me think about him and the pain i've been feeling the last few months. This song was so masterfully executed, from Skylar to the lyrics and the sound clips from Marshall and Hailey. My personal favorite song on the album.

When I heard Mockingbird as a young guy, I thought "this is an amazing song" and never felt that emotional connection.

Really sorry to hear that. My best advice is leave a video on a flash drive of all the things you want to tell them for their age range. Idk how old your kids are but by doing that video as long as they have that they’ll always have you. So I’d suggest going by decades but you’ll know what works best for your kids and you.
