- Hal reviews the Crimson Letters scenario from the Call of Cthulhu Keeper's Rulebook, and offers advice on how to run it. While not mentioned in the video, this mystery has such a diverse range of interested parties almost any Player Character will be able to be fit into it.

I used Abner Wick as a bridge from a Doors to Darkness scenario with this one, and he became a recurring character who rode the line of morality. Wick ended up with the papers and was able to reseal the horror inside it, but they kept getting newspaper articles in the days following in which his business rivals were killed in suspicious, and horrific circumstances.
Excellent way to make the actions of your players have ongoing consequences!
I used Flinders as my culprit, and it was perfect, my players didn’t figure it out until the second session, and it was amazing.
What specifically do you feel made Flinders a successful villain for your group?
Ooh. You could totally make Lucy the re-embodiment of the burned witch trying to get her papers back...
Ran this game with my players, they decided to split up, the young girl who was somewhat more magically powerful (had a summon spell from The Haunting) went back to the University at night to check the office, failed her spot hidden rolls to see the two gangsters following her, and the second she got out of her taxi, they stuck a gun in her back and marched her to the university morgue to inspect the body, and the body suddenly came to life, she went into a bout of madness.
Sounds like a great scene!
really nice analysis on an complex old favorite. Made me rethink some of my own preconceptions for this one. Looking forward to your other scenario reviews. Thanks!

An insightfull video, as always. And just in time for my Crimson Letters game, too. Thank you for indulging my request, you Sir are a legend!
Can't wait for the next video, and once we run this case I'll make sure to share our experience as well.

Thank you for watching!
Extremely helpful video! The "Uhh"s and "Errr"s are somewhat distracting so I recommend trying to stress yourself less while talking to the camera :D
Hi Mustafa,
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the constructive criticism.
@@thecardsmiths1262 You could try chewing gum before the video. It helps with being chill while talking in front of people. It helped me at least, back when I used to do book reviews at my shool's book club.
*SPOILERS*
Hi, thanks for your thorough review. I like your ideas about Emelia but after reading through the scenario i assumed that the papers were with Hunter for purposes of making the forgeries.
Hi Mark,
Thanks for the positive feedback!
The papers are wherever you want them to be. The only caveat is they had to be with Hunter *at some point* before the scenario begins for him to make the forgeries. It's a pretty easy tweak to the framework offered to have had the prof grab them from Hunter's place (likely right before or after taking him to the Asylum) and stash them in his office where Emilia could then find and steal them either before or after his demise.
