      Yes! Tilly was enjoying talking to Jock and why wouldn't she. Although she probably knew The Story like so many other folks, it was great to hear the story from The Horse's Mouth.. She was also very smart. She didn't "Drink" like Jock did. I'm telling you when a person gets some Cocktails "Loose Lips Sink Ships". I'm surprised that The Glass didn't break when Jock Toasted her with it.

      Yep! He made his fortune the Old Fashioned way "He Earned It!" when me made it, he didn't drink or squander like Digger Barnes did. It was easier for Digger to blame Jock because he was too ashamed to admit his downfall was nobody's fault but his own.

      Yes, she was also in Up The Downstair Case as a Foster Mother who had a conference with Miss Sylvia Barrett wo was doing her first Teaching Job. She also won a posthumous Emmy for her work on The Practice.

    Digger, Gary, and Sue Ellen were known as "drunks" but practically everyone on the show, including Jock, Ellie, JR, Bobby, Ray, and Lucy, was a raging alcoholic. The only difference between those groups was one was made up of non-functioning alcoholics and the others were functioning alcoholics.

      Diggar, Gary, Sue Ellen destroyed their lives and those around them while drunk. Big difference. Ive known people like these 3. Its all or nothing with them. As in the case of Gary, he was a loser. Even when he was winning, he had to lose. Because it was booze over everything when he choose the booze..... I wish we had gotten a second prequel movie chronicling Gary vs JR and his boozing, marriage to Valene and the families reaction to it. The movie ends with the birth of Lucy.

    In The New Dallas they could have had Tilly's Granddaughter or even Seth Foster's Grandson be on the show who have a History with The Ewings. Jock was very honorable, he found OIl on Seth Foster's Land and although he could have cheated him out of it he did the honorable thing.

      @@htowninatx Yes, her name was Dora Mae. The Folks who worked behind the Scenes wanted to bring African Americans but it didn't pan out. Sharon Leal (Dreamgirls) would have been perfect as Seth Foster's Great Grandchild, or Jessica Leccia could have played The Great-granddaughter of Lupe the "Original" Maid who knew the true story of how Miss Ellie "Saved" The Southfork.

    Dallas Knots Landing and Dynasty were and still are my favorite TV shows. The acting was Superb and all the actors fit their characters perfectly! Falcon Crest and The Colbys didn't have a chance in the ratings not as long as these 3 shows were still aired.!

      @@jakewible6139 Yes also it would be the last time they would use the Cloyce Box Ranch. It was still a Five Part Miniseries. In The UK in 1989 there was a Family who came on the Scene on the Soap Opera Emmerdale who were heavily influenced by Dallas with their Power. However, the House they lived in suffered Fires, Airplane Crashes, and the like.

      @@kenhernandez8128 Falcon Crest was called Dallas with grapes. Many are surprised to learn that it was produced by Earl Hamner, who is better known for The Waltons. The lead actress on the show was Jane Wyman, President Reagan’s first wife. She played a character like what many accused Nancy Reagan of being.

    Unlike a lot of shows, Dallas first season is excellent. Smooth, acting is great. Nuanced, not as mechanical as some television can be and were in the time.

    The owners of this house turned them down, when the series was picked up after this miniseries. They then found the south fork that became famous. This house seems more like a house Jock would have built, more his generations type. This house burned down in 1986.

    I thought Dallas didn't feature any black actors and actresses. I was wrong. But black Americans only had roles in the first few episodes. The rest of the series was had an all white cast in the leading roles.

      What do you mean by that? This was the only time Blacks were used and seen on The Show with the exception of The Hostess at the Restaurant. However, can you imagine how much Money The Caterers made at The BBQ. The Actress Irma P. Hall was in the Movie Up The Downstair Case who would later win a Posthumous Emmy for her Guest Starring Appearance on The Practice. I would have loved for Sharon Leal (Ex-Dahlia Crede Guiding Light) to have played Seth Foster's Great Granddaughter on the Old School Dallas or Jessica Leccia (Ex-Natalia Rivera Guiding Light), play The Great Granddaughter of Lupe who worked for Miss Ellie back in the day who at that time almost lost The Southfork.

    Another person who did "Liquor" was Michael Landon on Little House On The Prairie. When they did a scene where he "Drank" water it was actually Liquor most notaby Vodka. The man had so much power. He wrote, produced, directed various episodes of The Show. He was like The David Foster of TV.

    Unfortunately, this is where Dynasty had Dallas beat....role of Black folk. Dynasty went all the way with Dominique Devereaux (Diahann Carroll). Dallas couldn't get past Black servers.

      One of The Writers felt really bad about that. In The Book "Dallas" by Lee Raintree The Mexican Staff were smirking when Jock & Miss Ellie got married, becuase they knew the real reason why. Jock wanted to Hire Blacks instead but Miss Ellie said "No!" They could have worked in The Typing Pool, been a Teacher to Lucy, They could represent Chicago's Offices. Anything was possible.

    If therewas one thing I hated about Dallas was their visible minority cast was always in subservient roles. This was the only time they really associated with Blacks. Irma P. Hall (RIP) was also a "Parent" in Up The Downstair Case with the Late Sandy Dennis. Also she would win a posthumous Emmy for her work on The Practice.

      @@bacardilvr Go on! In The UK they are really trying to do "damage control" on Their Soaps. For example Emmerdale that debuted in 1972 was predominately "White" although they've had Indian Families. It focuses on a group of Families living in a Farm Community. They have promised to put in a prominent Black Family in the Village Eastenders that debuted in 1985 has always employed Blacks and Indians same with Hollyoaks that debuted in 1995. The Black Lives Matter Movement has really affected England as well. On the Set of Eastenders when they do Exterior Scenes, they have a beautiful Painting of a Lady. Jock is so "Gangsta & Classy", he had a Drink and he gave one to "The Catering Lady". Alot of Men wouldn't have done that. Jock was right, nobody destroyed Digger but The Liquor.

      @@bacardilvr Oh here's another thing that happened in 2017. On the UK Soap Opera Coronation Street Eva Price a Character said "I Got More Roots Than Kunta Kinte whomever he is!" Now keep in mind Roots had celebrated it's 40th Anniversary and the Phone Lines were flooded with folks outraged and angry at such a thing being said. The Actress who played Eva had no idea about the legacy of Roots she must have felt awful afterwards.
