    Also to address a couple things people might be wondering. TPU is NOT typically UV resistant, however we use a special blend of TPU that has UV resistant properties. Ive tested a set on my CRX that is parked outside for about a year and they havent faded from the sun or deformed from the heat. Also some of the artifacts and layer lines get a exaggerated on camera so these look a bit better in person.

    So awesome to see this come full circle! EFB did a great job printing them with a difficult material. Thanks for the shoutouts too! Let me know if you identify any other parts that we can try to replicate that aren't available.

      I appreciate all your work that went into the original video where you scanned and built the model for printing! I used that video to find several other companies that were making parts as well. One set of parts i havent seen anyone tackle, but seems fairly straightforward in my mind, is the plastic wire grommets in the engine bay that hold the ignition coil wires. I think one of them is still available from Honda, but theres like 5 in total, and they always seem to break.

    YO! you just made my day, i have a 89 CRX that’s completely OEM with only 95k miles, and I love the look of it! However, something’s are starting to wear and i’ve been looking for people who make new parts that look original for it, and EFB powersports is a new candy store! Thanks again for being the light at the end of the classic honda restoration tunnel lol

    My '89 luckily still has the originals, I´ve looked to replace one rear mudflap since it has a little damage, but they are so hard to find I´ll probably just keep it as is.
    Mine has the stock suspension, so they don´t hit the ground.
    Will be interesting to see all the parts that can be 3d printed in the future

    I work in that industry and nothing 3D printed will last long in that environment. Not to mention aesthetically there's a lot to be desired. Is there really a market for these? I can probably produce production quality oem replicas at a decent price

    @jspeedking Před 9 měsíci

    I’m all for reproduction of obsolete or very rare parts, but these absolutely don’t hit the mark for acceptable. The finish, weight & lack of logo don’t seem up to the price tag.

    • @efboiz5302
      @efboiz5302 Před 9 měsíci +2

      230g a piece isn’t particularly heavy and the slight increase in weight means they can withstand harsher impacts, the finish I can see why you might have that opinion based on these images but as I pointed out in the pinned comment digital images tend to introduce weird artifacts due to the layer lines of the 3d printing process and look better in person. As for the cost considering the print time, very expensive material, and pricing/lower quality of other makers mudguards I think it is reasonable. That being said they aren’t going to be for everyone and that’s okay :)

  • @EddyEP2

    I guess the fitment is great on these and it’s cool for the community to have these available but man, they’re ugly. I guess not painting those is a no go on a awesome CRX, the texture of the printed ones stick out like a sore thumb…
