It’s easy to sing about God being “faithful to his own” when you’re a winner (not killed or dismembered) and the other guys get beheaded. Where was God for them? Theodicy has no answer for this except something we make up to make ourselves feel better. And as for Jesus being tortured for 3 hours, you forget that he came back in 3 days, and he knew he was coming back. He got his friends and family back, and Mary got her son back. That’s not exactly what happened to the Ukrainians who got beheaded and hacked to death. Not even close. See the difference?

Besides I read and understand every verse, chapter and book in the Bible - even the evil parts where God instructs Israel to kill all innocent women and children, including infants, as spoils of war, and also how He killed the newborn infant of Bathsheba and David as God’s punishment on the couple. The infant was totally innocent but God killed him slowly over the course of a terrible week. David begged and prayed to God to spare the child, and totally repented of his sins, but God killed him anyway. God was often unjust when he felt like it, depending on His moods. And you are wrong about justice, pal - because God called his people to “do justice” in this present life, not the next. Read your Bible.

He was there when he needed to choose whether to create them or not, well aware they would live in a world where men can choose to inflict harm on others. He was there for them when He became their Savior. He is the only one. God was there when they were murdered.
Do you believe you are more compassionate than God, or have a greater desire for fairness and justice than God? I have read some of your other questions and it seems to me you have put God on trial and have found Him guilty.

Beautiful harmony and there is no doubt you are singing from the core of your souls...trusting in God during this most unsettling time. My Grandfather immigrated from the Ukraine 100 yrs ago during the Revolution. My heart goes out to you in the midst of this most horrific war. We are praying for you and sending aide through our church.
