Hi Skieell!! Imo T-34-1 is one of the best meds in its tier. I know T20 has great gun but it has no armor. Let me explain why
1. I have quite some battles where I bounced like 1k-2k dmg with T-34-1s turret. You never should rely on the armor but its trollish cuz of its shape, just saying.
2. T-34-1 has camo of the light tank, not kidding!! I believe WZ-131 camo is worse
3. 250 dmg is great alpha for tier7 even if gun is quite derpy
4. It has great ammo. 175 standard pen, 235 gold pen. and good shell velocity on gold . (Compare it to T-43 ammo. It has 195 gold pen, trash Imo)
T20 is still best Tier 7 med probably but after that I would highly recommend anyone to try T-34-1. Thx for the extra vids skill, u are amazing
I prefer T20 because it has double the gun depresion and better gun handling and mobility but T-34-1 with turret armour, great cammo, 250 alpha and great pen it's amazing medium. It was very good even before buffs in 2020. Than it became realy good but after buffs in 2021. it's amazing now. I love mine

It has better stationary camo than every single LT tier 7 (premium or not) other than LTG (that tank is just weird).

T-34-1 is quality for a tier 7 med, it's a hidden gem IMO. It's got decent turret armour (you need like more than 200 pen to go through reliably so it can hull down quite well against same tier and below), it's decently mobile, it's agile and it's got great camo. Gun handling is bit derpy but then most tier 7s have derpy guns and it at least has good alpha of 250 which is higher than several tier 8 meds, or you can use the 85mm which whilst it has bad pen has really nice DPM. You can push the base camo of this thing above 50%, which is mental on tier 7. It has the second highest requirements of any tier 7 tech tree tank after the T29.
After buffs this tank is hidden gem. Gun handling is now decent, as is speed and alpha. It can also bounce something. Biggest strengh is its camo though. It is better on the move than on same lights. Which is crazy.
I was recently grinding the T-34-1 and I think it is absolute beast, the 85mm gun is awesome too, excellent tank in my opinion, one of the best mediums on this tier (nice turret, gun, mobility, camo and view range)
This is a hidden Gem in the Chinese line, love mine, been playing it for several years now. Good armor, decent gun. 170 Battles and 48% wins. So, yes I like it.

When I still played WoT, this was my favorite tier 7 because of the turret armor and gun!

@@Immortal_BP Not really, I'd play T-34-1 over P43 ter any day.
Yes, P43 has slightly more DPM, has better gun dep, and is slightly faster. However, there are two things that makes T-34-1 very good:
1. Armor. T-34-1 is the only tier 7 medium that has >200mm ++ armor in almost every part of its turret other than in cupola and super small part near turret ring. In comparison, P43 has only 100-120 mm all over the flat front turret which is basically penetrable by anything other than stuffs like tier 5 or HE. Even better, T-34-1 has rounded turret, which will make the area around the edge 300 to 800 mm effective -- making your turret working at times even at higher tier.
2. Size. T-34-1 is small. Really small. People tend to only look at stats and disregarding the fact that small size = hard to hit. Especially if your entire turret is very hard. Even more, its small size also makes its camo very good -- it has better stationary camo even compared to all tier 7 lights other than LTG!
Combine those two elements plus bonus greater pen, alpha, shell velocity, and even much better gold ammo and you will have a much better playstyle in practice:
- In urban close quarter just search for any small stone and you'll hide your hull. With good turret you can withstand some shots and even properly aim against long distance tanks or weakspots -- something that you can't do in P43 because it has no armor.
- In open field you can sneak around in bushes, shots, and retreat. Again since you actually have great camo you can take your time to aim, and lesser DPM wouldn't matter that much since you often need to duck for 10 secs anyway. In this condition camo, pen, alpha, and shell velocity would be much more valuable compared to measly 200 DPM (1 second reload) difference.
There's a reason it's one of the non-premium with highest WR, not P43.
@@zeroyuki92 yeah i was thinking of the tier 6 p43 lol. the t-34 is smaller with a great turret but the tier 7 p43 is more flexible with a better gun and hull armor.
the tier 6 p43 is the goat though, so good.

I love this tank. It looks beautiful and plays nice too, even though gun drives me crazy sometimes. Mainly all the flaws are WG hidden stuff, like terrible soft terrain resistance and dispersion.
Btw those who don´t understand why this vehicle has good camo, back in the day, when there was little to no info on this game, I used to read some WG wiki stuff and they say that vehicle camo has to do with it´s dimensions, mainly height. And this tank is very little, really smaller than some lights.
I like T20 more because it is faster, it has more view range, better gun depresion and gun handling but this tank along with T20 is the best tier VII medium and I realy like it

of the Chinese line, its the only one I still play, besides the type 59 ,it has decent mobility, punchy gun when it works, and trollish turret armor,
also ammo racks and burns a little to easy

It may be time to revisit this tank. Out of all Tier VII mediums, it is now second place in win rate on the EU servers and first place in win rate on the NA server.
Its nice to see you playing in a diffrent position than in the bushes in 3rd battle. I think this tank still seem interesting in the statistics.
I'm not going to disagree about the objective quality of the tank, (I am just a player with pretentions of mediocrity) but I really like it all the same, the T-8 as well are both keepers for me

Grinded this line up to the Tier 9, just to see if 121 is any better, but that WZ 120 is hit and miss. 121B is a much better tank, all around. This tech tree is painful.

Just got it. First 10 battles and I had 0% survival and 10% WR... The worst experience EVER.
This is my favorite tank. But then I also fell in love with T-34-3 when it had 3 degrees of gun depression back in the day so I a weird tanker.
You sound like me here. I love both those tanks from the release of the Chinese line.
For me it was big alpha on a good mobile platform. Getting a heavy tank gun on a mobile medium body is wonderful. T-34-3 has some penetration issues and the 3 degrees was brutal, but manageable. T-34-1 didn't suffer quite so much and is great for flanking and taking aggressive spots to get better angles. The camo is unreal for this tank too.
With this tank I go hull down against tier 9s 😃, also t-34-1 has been my first second mark

I have not played this tank, but it looks better than the Panther and it’s pew pew gun.
Love this tank in tier 7 battles less in tier 8 but still good. I rock the team with 100mm.

Love how anyother 100mm gun can do more dmg. Like 300 ish. Think the russian 107mm on the kv-2, yes i know its 7 mm bigger, german 10,5mm is 310 as well, then you look at the russian 85 on the t-36-85 premium is a 85mm and can slap for 240. Hmmm. The german got a buff for the 88mm gun, upto 280 dmg. Hmm...

After grinding through the polish heavy tank tree, I’d like to contest that the 45tp is the worst. Literally actually unplayable and the worst grind in all of my games since the beta

I bought it after the buffs to try it out, while it certainly isn't good, it's somewhat okay now. Still wouldn't recommend it.
I am a free player, don't use my reward tanks very much, don't use #2 ammo much. My win rate is 47.53% overall. My win rate with the T-34-1 is 62% and has been high for 2+ years. My crew is almost finished with their first skills. The recent buff should just be icing on the cake!

the turret has armour but not against high pen rounds, i have it still, its not bad, wish it was more mobile, good concealment

The expectation for this tank is so low. I first mark it in around 30 games. I like it.
Expectation values are high actually, 2255 on EU currently for 3rd mark, 2nd highest requirements for a tech tree tank on tier 7 behind T29.
Only Kolabanov in my garage is with this tank.

I like this tank. The turret is awesome against about 1/2 the tanks you meet. The camo is amazing and the gun hits fairly hard for the class/tier . I moved my 121 crew back down to this tank and have really been enjoying it.

Skieeelllll I am top in damage and top in wot rating 3rd in xp and 3rd in assistance for November so far in this tank on NA I play light at night sometimes so my winrwate is 47 sadly but when I first started it was about 56 to 60. I love this tank honestly so much fun great camo Highrolls often

2:43 well said and this is actually the main problem with this tank in my opinion, gun handling for the 100mm is just horrendous, even with good crews with snap shot and smooth ride both on 100% and good equipment, and lets be honest do you really want fill all 3 Equipment slots with stuff that increases the gun handling cuz if u dont do it is completely bullshit ?? I say NO u dont want to need to do this cuz this tank is just unbalanced stinker from wg and it would still need a lot of buffs (like many other tanks) that wg will never ever give to it cuz they just dont fucking care about balance in their game and if ppl complain about things or not
I think maybe its worth to think about to re-visit this vehicle cuz nowadays 85mm gun has 144mm of penetration for good like any other russian medium tanks already has it since enternitys for good reasons, this is the only chance in my opinion to make this a good tank that would be well playable, on the other hand i think nobody should actually play chinese mediums at all, cuz the complete line is shit in my opinion and i am honestly thinking about selling both type 58 and T 34-1as well and stop wasting my time with them and stop ruining my brain cells by playing these stinkers
Maybe the tank could be better if it could use stabilizer, but nobody but wg themselves are understanding why a T7 med cannot use it

This tank is one of the more forgiving tier 7 medium tanks because of its turret armor. But really depends on your play style as personally I don't really like most tier 7 meds.

Sry Skill in this case I can't follow your opinion. In the WoT statistics this tank us always between top 3 mediums. If you play hulldown the armor is good, the gun handling is very bad snap shoots impossible. I would say as top tier on flat ground it's a beast, as lowtier on open map with hills T 20 is better choice..
