- This route starts from Encumeada and takes us through wonderful landscapes to Lombo do Mouro. On the way, we walk along the Levada do Norte at first and then the rest of the way along the Levada da Serra. On the way, we pass near the well-known Pináculo (Pinnacle). The journey to Lombo do Mouro is 15 km. It is 3 km from there along the road back to the starting point to Encumeada. So the total distance is 18 km.
There are several tunnels on the route. a flashlight or headlamp is therefore needed. The altitude on the route varies between 930 and 1530 meters. There are numerous waterfalls along the way. When you reach the Pinnaculo area, you can see the valley of Ribeira Brava and the two highest peaks of Madeira (Pico Ruivo 1861m and Pico do Areeiro 1817m). The landscapes are magnificent. The laurel forest is dense and green. At the beginning of the route, before the first tunnel, you can enjoy a nice splendor of flowers.

Kuinka kauan meni tuon reitin kiertämisessä? Ja kuinka pysyitte oikealla polulla kun haarautumisia oli sinne tänne?

Kiitos. Meillä meni noin 7h 50 min. autolta takaisin autolle. Matkaa Sport tracerin mukaan tuli 19,45 km (sisältää kaikki syrjähypytkin). Pääosin polkujen haaroissa on viitat. Mutta niissä missä ei ole, WalkMe sovelluksella voi varmistaa oikean reitin. Tietysti muukin GPS-sovellus auttaaa.
Onko Madeira sinun mielestäsi muuten hyvä paikka matkakohteena?
@@virpi6529 Kyllä, Madeira on ensiluokkainen matkakohde. Isot hiekkaiset uimarannat tosin puuttuvat.
