He's pretty much always used effects, but since this video it's become too much. His tone is so processed that he doesn't even sound like guitar anymore.

There may be things in his body of work that don’t work for you (... some of his songs or vibes I don’t care for ), but the man is only getting better and better and better with the passage of time. His lines his chords his ideas and the general dissolution of what seem to be barriers he previously had or held emerging into a less black and white idea of various techniques ; I’ve seems to have more access and it’s making for a holistically cooler capacity

Kurt is so fluid and I like what he's doing with the POG / HOB / whatever! it doesnt matter - when you 'hear' a new sound it makes you play different -.....so on.....anyway - Blake - you have this wrong....

It's back!
It’s nice to hear him with a clean tone , he uses effects normally for his signature sound but he must have wanted an authentic tone for this
I prefer to him in a natural guitar tone.

Yeah he persists in using that delay but somehow it never seems to work with his playing imo, it ends up more an interfere than enhancement
